RE-WIND: Best of CFB’s Blockbuster Hires - FFD

Welcome to a special retrospective edition of Flagged For Discussion. With the guys taking some well-deserved time out on the road, we are using the opportunity to look back at the architectural blueprints of three traditional powerhouses that underwent massive structural facelifts. Roster construction, staff alignments, and booster expectations completely shifted over the winter, and today we bundle our sharpest, most tactical on-air segments analyzing the systemic changes happening inside these three programs. PENN STATE: We kick things off by replaying our analysis of Matt Campbell’s schematic and cultural transition to Happy Valley. We discuss whether or not this was the “right” move for Penn State, and if it was the right move for Campbell himself. Also, we reflect of Pat Kraft’s saga of drama during this coaching carousel, as well as if they should have even fired James Franklin in the first place or not.  LSU: Next, we dive back into our deep dive on Lane Kiffin’s offensive philosophy colliding with the most talent-rich recruiting base in the country. We take a look at the weeks leading up to this hire, its impact on LSU - as well as it’s impact on Ole Miss.  MICHIGAN: We wrap things up  breakdown of Kyle Whittingham taking the reins of the Michigan Wolverines. Is this just a bridge hire, or is this a hire that will elevate the Michigan program? We also conduct a full Sheronne Moore era autopsy as Michigan prepares to roll out their 2026 team. 📲 Follow us here: TikTok: @flagged4discussion Twitter/X: @f4discussion YouTube: flaggedfordiscussion Everywhere you get podcasts: flaggedfordiscussion

    Dabo's Decline + The $17 Superteam + USC/Notre Dame Back On? - FFD Ep 79

Welcome into Flagged for Discussion, Episode 79! We are diving straight into the chaos as the coaching drama continues to spin in the most bizarre ways. First, we break down Dabo Swinney’s recent verbal attacks at Notre Dame. Dabo is swinging at the Irish’s "money machine," but after a 7-6 season with nine players drafted, is he just deflecting from a crumbling dynasty at Clemson? We look at the stats since the transfer portal rules shifted in 2021 and ask: Is Dabo tarnishing his legacy, or is he the last honest man in a sport that’s passed him by?  Then, things get personal as Jace gives Farbod a $17 budget to build a 2027 National Championship roster. From elite HCs like Mike Elko to young guns like Julian Sayin and Arch Manning, Farbod has to "ball on a budget" to construct a winner. We debate the best value picks, is $4 too much for Indiana’s defense, or is Curt Cignetti the ultimate bargain at the top? Finally, we wrap up with a look at the "Fresh Air" movement and some massive scheduling news. We react to Gio Lopez’s candid comments about life under Bill Belichick at UNC and why Wake Forest finally feels like football again. Plus, we discuss the reports that Notre Dame and USC are in active talks to revive their historic rivalry series. Should the Irish move the game earlier in the season to appease the Big Ten, or does the 12-team playoff change the math on "strength of schedule" forever? 📲 Follow us here: TikTok: @flagged4discussion Twitter/X: @f4discussion YouTube: flaggedfordiscussion Everywhere you get podcasts: flaggedfordiscussion

Brendan Sorsby Reaction + Moore vs Manning + UCLA Making Noise? - FFD Ep 78

On this episode of Flagged For Discussion, we dive head-first into the Brendan Sorsby situation. We trace the timeline from his early days at Indiana, where thousands of alleged wagers were reportedly placed, to his massive $5 NIL deal with Texas Tech and the recent news of his entry into residential treatment. We focus on the human element: Sorsby’s stepping away for residential treatment and the importance of finding help for addiction in the high-pressure world of NIL and elite athletics. As he focuses on his health. We also look at what this means for the Red Raiders' locker room and if Will Hammond is ready to take the reins of a Big 12 contender. Then, we turn our attention to the "Manning Mystique." While NFL fans are clamoring for Arch Manning as the clear-cut QB1, a side-by-side look at the 2025 tape tells a different story. We break down why Dante Moore’s elite efficiency and 3,500-yard season at Oregon should technically have him ahead of Arch in any objective draft board. To wrap things up, we analyze the stunning recruiting resurgence at UCLA. After bottoming out with a 99th-ranked class in 2024, the Bruins have skyrocketed to 4th in the current rankings, we look at how Bob Chesney’s staff might be flipping the script in Westwood. 📲 Follow us here: TikTok: @flagged4discussion Twitter/X: @f4discussion YouTube: flaggedfordiscussion Everywhere you get podcasts: flaggedfordiscussion

Spring Overreactions: QB Battles, New Rules & Coach O/Us - FFD Ep 75

The spring window is officially open, and the overreactions are already flying. In this episode, we break down the most consequential storylines coming out of the first slate of Spring Games, a massive looming shift in NCAA eligibility rules, and the win totals for a coaching carousel that has completely reshaped the landscape. The QB Battles: Talent vs. Tenure In Tuscaloosa, Kalen DeBoer is facing the first major decision of his Alabama tenure: Austin Mack’s system knowledge or Keelon Russell’s explosive natural talent. We debate which path leads to a Playoff run. Meanwhile, in Gainesville, Jon Sumrall is calling Florida a "sleeping giant" after Tramell Jones Jr. made a massive statement…but how fast can he actually wake it up? The "Prime" Reality Check For the first time since Deion Sanders arrived in Boulder, the stadium didn't fill up for the Spring Game. With Shedeur and Travis gone, and JuJu Lewis poised to take the keys, we discuss whether the Colorado hype has finally met its match in reality. The Death of the 9th-Year Senior The NCAA is finally looking to simplify eligibility with a "five years and you're out" rule. We look at the end of the “Cam McCormick” era and why this change might be the only way to fix the sport’s consistency problem. New Coaches: Who Wins Early? We wrap things up by hammering the Over/Under win totals for the newest hires across the country. Can Lane Kiffin lead LSU to 9 wins? Will Kyle Whittingham’s Michigan fall short of the 8.5 mark? Is James Franklin the spark Virginia Tech needs to hit the Over? 📲 Follow us here: TikTok: @flagged4discussion Twitter/X: @f4discussion YouTube: flaggedfordiscussion Everywhere you get podcasts: flaggedfordiscussion
