Take responsibility of your life and remember how far you’ve come. Personally, I’m living my dream life because I said so. Living your dream life is a choice. I suffered mentally for years, and years and I’m done with that. You’re done with that.  What is the point of life if we are going to be inauthentic, chasing dopamine, in our old ways and old patterns? What is the point of life if we are going to play it small? What is the point of life if we feed into the patriarchy? I personally align more as a witchy divine feminine baddie alchemist. I like to take my time with things no rushing no boundary crossing no random phone calls. I’m unbothered and unavailable unless you are in my inner circle. Period.     Inflammation

Here’s what I wish I knew as a wee young lad. A youngin versus in my late 20’s. It’s not too late to change your life for the better. We are constantly evolving, constantly growing, constantly learning and unlearning over here. From neuroscience, religious cults, women’s health, and spirituality, we have the chance to rewrite history. Our history. First, we will discuss my perspective on inflammation chronic inflammation to be exact, obesity, and suspected endometriosis. Second, we will discuss the link between autoimmune diseases and the gut-brain axis. Third, we will briefly discuss the sacral chakra because your girl is still learning about this and what’s been passed down. Fourth, we will discuss high cortisol, nervous system regulation and “fight or flight.” Last but certainly not least we will discuss what you can do NOW to decrease inflammation to the best of my ability. I am not a doctor or a licensed professional, I am a podcaster sharing what I’ve learned. Take what resonates and leave the rest.  Release what you were never meant to carry.     Regulate Your Nervous System

    Have you ever heard of the phrase: “regulate your nervous system” well we typically see and hear this message everywhere especially on social media but what does it actually mean to “regulate your nervous system?” What is the nervous system? The million-dollar question! Don’t fret I got you. “The nervous system is a complex network that includes the brain, spinal cord, and nerves throughout the body. It governs everything from our physical sensations to emotional responses.” There are two important systems of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS): ·      Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS): The “fight-or-flight” system that activates in response to stress or danger. ·      Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS): The “rest-and-digest” system that helps the body relax, recover, and conserve energy.  So, what is a dysregulated nervous system state? There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to the nervous system. We breakdown 10 regulation tools for implementation that have helped me over the years as a religious cult survivor with C-PTSD (complex trauma) and other mental health conditions (ADHD but most likely AuDHD, unspecified mood disorder provisionally borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder etc.):   If there is one thing you take away from today’s podcast episode it is to listen to your body. Don’t let it get to the point where you are sick. Don’t let it get to the point where you are in the hospital. Don’t let it get to the point where you lose everything and build out of burnout. That shit is hard to do forreal. Trust I’ve been there done that. While it’s not impossible to recover from burnout it takes years to find some sense of normalcy and then a lifetime of healing. Don’t wait for permission to heal, rest, create, and laugh because life is a gift. It is a joy to be here.  In the wise words of Debra Silverman “If only you understood that your mind must stop, your nervous system must relax, and then you get to come home.” I read this and wept. Tears and tears. Okay, but it is what it is. Be yourself. Love yourself. Take care of yourself. If your nervous system has been dysregulated for years, you are not alone. I feel you; I hear you and I see you. Take baby steps* and implement the tools you learned today and of course from trusted licensed professionals.     The Resistance in Becoming

    When you build and become the world doesn’t owe you anything. You owe it to yourself to become who you were always meant to be. I want you to sit with that resistance as uncomfortable as it may be, look inward and act accordingly despite being ready to become the best version of yourself. The most real, authentic, intuitive version with no fear or limiting beliefs. What do you like? What do you need? Who do you want to spend time with and connect? How are you holding yourself back?  We are the creators of our lives. Create or consume? Your choice. I say we: Create art. Create love. Create abundance. Life is not about getting ahead. Life is not about having things figured out in your 20’s. Life is not about being married and having kids and that's a wrap. Life is not about buying designer bags although I do love me a good Marc Jacobs bag. Y’all already know how I get down with those bags but anyway. We honestly don’t realize that we have everything we need. We don’t realize that we have spirit guides and spirituality as a way to connect with ourselves outside of religion or religious affiliation. We are not a constant self-help project.  Over the years I’ve learned this the hard way. Nothing changes if nothing changes. I was constantly reading self-help books, thinking I was helping myself but that wasn’t the case. Initially, I saw myself as flawed and fragile but that was also not the case. All my lived experiences have led me to be a girls girl who has a lot to say: emotional, deep, and empathetic. A girls girl who loves art, matcha, pinterest, substack, neuroscience and neuroplasticity and becoming. I pose three important questions with my thoughts: Why do we resist the art of becoming? What does it look like to become? What are the signs that we are becoming? We have lots to discuss!
