    Live from New York with Roy Wood Jr. and Marie Faustin

    In MFL’s live New York debut, Roy Wood Jr. breaks down lyrics from CeeLo Green to Billy Joel, Marie Faustin pays homage to the song of the summer, "Spend Dat," and an audience submission prompts Devon to give us his best British rap impression. Roy Wood Jr. is a comedian, writer, producer, and actor. He is an Emmy-nominated producer for the PBS documentary The Neutral Ground and was a correspondent on Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, where he also hosted the award-winning podcast The Daily Show: Beyond the Scenes. In 2023, he guest hosted The Daily Show and headlined the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Wood starred alongside Jon Hamm in Confess, Fletch and has appeared in Only Murders in the Building, Better Call Saul, The Last O.G., and Space Force. As a writer and executive producer, he has developed projects for Comedy Central, HBO Max, NBC, and FOX. His three Comedy Central stand-up specials—Father Figure, No One Loves You, and Imperfect Messenger—cemented his reputation as one of comedy's sharpest voices, with No One Loves You becoming the network's highest-rated original stand-up premiere. Marie Faustin is a New York City–based comedian, actress, writer, and host. She has appeared on Broad City, Comedy Central Stand-Up, MTV's Girl Code, VH1, The BET Awards, and TruTV. She co-hosted Viceland's nightly variety show VICE LIVE as well as Oxygen's Very Real Talk. Marie was named one of Vulture's "Comedians You Should Know" in 2018 and was selected as one of Just For Laughs Montreal's New Faces in 2017. Marie is the creator and host of the live dating comedy show Why Are You Single?, and also co-hosts the weekly podcast MESS with Sydnee Washington.  Previously, she co-hosted The Unofficial Expert—named #2 on Time Out's list of Best NYC Podcasts—and co-produced the long-running stand-up showcase Comedy at the Knit at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. She has also appeared on podcasts including Las Culturistas, Inside the Closet, Girls Gotta Eat, and more.     Comedian and ‘Gangster Chef’ Jourdain Fisher joins Devon on the show this week to recount J.Cole blowing him off for a selfie, raise an eyebrow at JC Chasez’s riff in “Bring It All to Me,” and to break down what Iggy Azalea said in her infamous freestyle.  Born and raised in North Carolina, Jourdain Fisher started doing stand-up to avoid working at his family's funeral home. Since then, he's become known for his sharp storytelling, infectious stage presence, and his popular "Gangster Chef" character. Jourdain has appeared on Comedy Central and made his late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2018, earning a standing ovation and a staff writer position.
