    Code of Survival w/Greg Eckert

    I'm joined by LitRPG author Greg Eckert to talk about Code of Survival book one, Arizona and the moment the whole series started. He was reading another book, caught himself thinking “that’s not what I would do,” and suddenly found himself writing for eight straight hours. We talk about how a LitRPG apocalypse written with real landmarks and real travel routes changes the feel of danger, discovery, and base building. Greg shares his research process, the history and trivia details he loves to tuck into scenes, and why he prefers lesser-known mythological creatures over the usual fantasy defaults.     Otherworldly w/Allora Lee

    Being reincarnated as an eight year old sounds like a fun fresh start until you remember you already had a life worth keeping. Allora Lee joins me to break down the premise behind Otherworldly, where the MC's “new life” comes with a horrifying catch: the mind inside her is a stranger, not a past life, and the people around her treat her like an inconvenience at best. We talk with authors Ben Wolf and Luke Messa about how Rickshaw Riot turns that setup into a fast and funny LitRPG.   We dig into the co-writing process that made the book click.     I'm Not the Hero w/Tommy Kerper AKA Sourpatch Hero

    The most dangerous person in an isekai world might not be the hero, it might be the friend who knows every trope and can see the disaster coming. We’re joined by Tommy Kerper, also known as Sour Patch Hero, to talk about I’m Not the Hero and why making the “background character” the lead opens up fresher stakes, sharper humor, and more real friendship tension than the usual power fantasy setup.  We get into how Orrin’s support-focused class changes the shape of the story. Tommy also breaks down the series’ biggest system-level hook: administrator access. It’s rare, scary, and wrapped in history, rumor, and politics, which turns a simple LitRPG mechanic into a long-running mystery about who controls the “rules” and why everyone wants that power hidden.  On the craft side, Tommy shares what it’s like to write as a self-described panster while still steering toward an ending he’s known for years.     This week we’re joined by Bosloe, author of The Ametherean Tales, to talk about One Flew Over the Dragon’s Nest.  We dig into SJ’s background as a forensic accountant who actually reads the terms and conditions (when the typical person wouldn't) and accidentally breaks the system by not signing them. That choice creates ripple effects across the series, including a reincarnation option that sounds overpowered until you count the costs: losing levels, losing progress, and not even knowing who will remember you. We also get into the story’s signature pairing: SJ and her sarcastic AI companion, Dave, and how their dynamic evolves from unhelpful friction to BFF's.  Then we zoom out to the broader worldbuilding that makes this progression fantasy feel grounded... choosing a rare Fey assassin build, using size and stealth in practical ways, and navigating a setting where Fey are ostracized.
