Feelings, Thoughts, and Actions - Pastor Jay Alexander - Genesis 17:15-27

In “Feelings, Thoughts, and Actions,” Pastor Jay Alexander teaches from Genesis 17:15–27, where God tells Abraham that Sarah will bear a son named Isaac. Abraham is 99, Sarah is 90, and the promise seems impossible from a human perspective. Yet this passage shows how Abraham responded to God through his feelings, thoughts, and actions. Pastor Jay begins with Abraham’s feelings. Abraham laughed when God spoke of Sarah having a child, but Romans 4 shows that Abraham did not waver in unbelief. He was strengthened in faith and fully convinced that God was able to do what He promised. The sermon reminds believers that feelings can be complicated, but they do not have to stop us from trusting God. The message then looks at Abraham’s thoughts. When Abraham asks that Ishmael might live before God, he is not simply trying to replace God’s plan with his own. He is bringing concern for his son before the Lord. Pastor Jay encourages believers to pray honestly, take every thought captive, turn off ungodly noise, and meditate on what is true and biblical. Finally, the sermon focuses on Abraham’s actions. Abraham obeyed God immediately, circumcising every male in his household that same day. This is the clearest evidence of faith: not just words, intentions, or emotions, but obedience. Pastor Jay challenges the church to be doers of the Word and to let faith be seen through action. Website: https://faithandvictory.com/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@FaithandVictoryChurch

A Common Thing - Pastor Matt Krachunis - Hebrews 10:26-39

In “A Common Thing,” Pastor Matt Krachunis teaches from Hebrews 10:26–39, giving a sober warning about drifting from Christ and treating the covenant as common. Hebrews has already shown that Jesus is better than the old covenant system, the priesthood, and every sacrifice that came before Him. Because of that, believers must not go back, draw back, or look for another way to be made right with God. Pastor Matt explains that the warning about willful sin in Hebrews 10 is not meant to say that a struggling Christian can never be forgiven. The deeper warning is about deliberately rejecting the New Covenant after receiving the knowledge of the truth. If someone walks away from Christ, there is no other sacrifice for sin. Jesus is the only Savior, the only High Priest, and the only remedy for sin. The sermon also warns that sin is never harmless. Unchecked sin, isolation, and shrinking affection for Christ can harden the heart and lead people away from Him. The answer is not panic, self-reliance, or trying to fix ourselves apart from God. The answer is perseverance: keep going back to the cross, keep repenting, keep trusting Christ, and keep holding fast. Pastor Matt calls the church to remember that Jesus is not common. His blood is not common. His grace is not common. His church is not common. We are not those who draw back to destruction, but those who believe to the saving of the soul. Some Must Be Cut Off - Pastor Kevin Mugi - Genesis 17:9-14

In “Some Things Must Be Cut Off,” Pastor Kevin Mugi teaches from Genesis 17:9–14, where God gives Abraham the sign of circumcision as part of His covenant. Up to this point, God has been declaring what He will do: He will establish the covenant, make Abraham fruitful, give descendants, give land, and be their God. But in verse 9, God says, “As for you,” showing that covenant relationship also requires obedience. Pastor Kevin explains that circumcision was a visible reminder that Abraham and his descendants belonged to the Lord. Because God’s promise centered on future generations, the sign was placed directly at the source connected to that promise. The message uses this to challenge believers today: there are things in our lives that must be cut off if we are going to walk rightly with God. This sermon moves from the physical sign of circumcision to the spiritual reality of a circumcised heart. God is not looking only at outward appearance, religious routine, or external identification. He looks at the heart. Through Christ, believers are bought with a price, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and brought into the family of God. But that new life requires surrender. Pastor Kevin calls the church to examine what needs to be removed: sin, old weights, stubbornness, hardness of heart, past wounds, false identity, and anything that keeps us from fully belonging to God. The question of the sermon is direct: what needs to be cut off today? Website: https://faithandvictory.com/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@FaithandVictoryChurch
