Art as Resistance w/ David Hinchliffe and Adrian Waters

Hosts: Dave (He/Him) and Andy (He/Him) Today on the show we are going to be talking about art as resistance! Sometimes on Ecoradio we will interview people who take direct action protests or civil disobedience, sometimes we talk about letter writing campaigns or contacting politicians but there are so many different ways to protect the things we love. Today I want to focus on the making of art to advocate for our planet, so coming up I'm going to be talking to David Hinchliffe. David is an internationally recognised painter and former Brisbane city councilor, but most importantly David is a vocal advocate for the protection of Victoria Park. After that… Ecoradio legend Linda has recorded a performance that Adrian Waters did two weeks ago at the closure of the heritage listed centenary pool in Victoria Park Barrambin. As we heard last week the centenary pool is being bulldozed to build a bigger olympic venue which will destroy trees around it and take more public space. We will also be talking to Paul Revie from the group Friends of Parks Queensland about a survey he is leading this weekend at Tallebudgera Creek Conservation Park to find Illidge's ant-blue butterfly which hasn’t been seen since the 90’s. https://events.humanitix.com/illidge-s-ant-blue-butterfly-survey-k38r7fwc Bushcare Roundup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
