HopeTown Church Sunday Message

Tim Ashley

HopeTown exists to Reach People who are far from God and Connect them with the Hope of Jesus. HOPE + COMMUNITY When you put these two things together (hope and community) you get a place where people can come, connect, and belong. HOPE: There is a world full of people that give up on life, not because they want to, but because they run out of hope. Hope is what sustains every person in the good and tough times. COMMUNITY: We are a gathering of people that are committed to living life together. Whether it is serving our community, celebrating good news, or walking through heartache, we are determined that we are better together. What if what’s missing isn’t a what but a who? All humans, even the “good” ones, are born with sin. Sin separates us from God. That separation breaks God’s heart and leaves us feeling lost. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17 NLT God sent His Son, Jesus, to pay for our sin. Jesus came to earth, died on a cross, and was raised to life to save us from sin, give us new life, and bring us into a relationship with God. If you want to know what life with God is like, we’d love to help. Find out more at HopeTown.church. Connect with us at info@hopetown.church Hosted on Acast. Firm Foundation Week 2 | April 19, 2026 | Tim Ashley

Why You Can Trust the Bible Is the Bible just a collection of old stories, or is it the "Firm Foundation" for your life? In this installment of our "Firm Foundation" message series, Pastor Tim Ashley takes us deep into the structure, history, and supernatural unity of the Word of God. Whether you are a long-time believer or just curious about the Bible’s origins, this message will help you understand why we can trust this as God's Word. In this video, Pastor Tim explores: The Wise vs. Foolish Builder: Why listening to and following Jesus’ teaching is like building your house on solid rock (Matthew 7:24-27). The Structure of the Word: A breakdown of the two Testaments and the five major Covenants. A Supernatural History: How 40 authors, writing over 1,550 years across three continents, produced one unified, consistent message. The "Canon" Standard: How the 66 books were evaluated for truth and divine inspiration. Translations & Versions: Understanding the difference between "word-for-word" and "thought-for-thought" translations. Key Scripture References: Matthew 7:24-27 – Building on the Rock. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All Scripture is God-breathed. Hebrews 4:12 – The Word is living and active. Key Takeaway: The Bible’s unity could not happen by chance; it could only happen by supernatural direction. EASTER 2026 | Tim Ashley | April 5, 2026 | Stop Settling for Survival: The Power of Transformation

Are you just "coping" with your situation, or are you ready for a total transformation? In this message, we dive into Acts 3 to look at the powerful story of the lame man at the Beautiful Gate and how one encounter with the name of Jesus changed everything. In this video, we explore four key truths: * *We usually settle for what we know and expect.* When all you’ve known is brokenness, it’s easy to stop asking for wholeness. * *God’s power and plan are never limited by our understanding.* Jesus doesn’t just improve your situation; He transforms your condition. * *Your greatest need isn't what you think it is.* As Helen Keller said, "The only thing worse than being blind is having sight, but no vision." * *Jesus’ resurrection means your healing is available.* Through His sacrifice, we find the healing, forgiveness, and restoration we all desperately need. Scripture References: * Acts 3:1-20 (NLT) * Isaiah 53:5 (NLT) -------------------------------------------------------- *Connect with HopeTown Church:* Discover everything happening at HopeTown Church—services, upcoming events, and more—at [www.hopetown.church](https://www.hopetown.church)! SEEDS Week 6 | Tim Ashley | March 29, 2026 | How Does Tomorrow Start Today?

*How Tomorrow Starts Today: Planting a Lasting Legacy* What does it mean to live a life that lasts? In today’s message, we dive into the "Seeds" series to explore how the choices we make today shape the fruit of our tomorrow. Our word for the year is Together, and as we look at I Corinthians 12:27, we see that we are all part of one body with a unique role to play. Using the imagery of Aaron’s Rod and the Almond Tree, we explore the biblical principles of growth and pruning found in John 12:24 and John 15:1-4, 16. Key Takeaways: * *See Your Future: Legacy starts with a vision.* * *Shift Your Mindset: Move away from culture’s definition of success and toward the Bible’s definition.* * *Partner with God: Stop assuming legacy "just happens." Learn to plant seeds intentionally and trust God for the growth.* * *Focus on Fruit: Your legacy is the fruit that remains in the generations to come (Isaiah 59:21).* -------------------------------------------------------- *Connect with HopeTown Church:* Discover everything happening at HopeTown Church—services, upcoming events, and more—at [www.hopetown.church](https://www.hopetown.church)! SEEDS Week 5 | Spence Palmer | March 22, 2026 | Above and Beyond

Seeking to live a life that goes "Above and Beyond"? In this message from our Seeds series guest speaker Spencer Palmer helps explore the powerful Principle of Multiplication and how God designed both seeds and you to multiply impact in the world. *About This Message* When we live generously with our Treasure, Time, and Talent, God multiplies our efforts so we can fully participate in what He is doing. Using 2 Corinthians 9:6–11 as our anchor, we dive into what it means to be a "conduit" of God’s blessing rather than a "cul-de-sac". *Key Takeaways* *The Heart of Multiplication:* What is on the inside of you will eventually come out and multiply. *The Principle of Generous Giving:* God supplies the seed to the sower; He provides so that you can be generous on every occasion. *Living as a Conduit:* Healthy things grow and multiply. When we stay open-handed, God moves through us to reach others. -------------------------------------------------------- *Connect with HopeTown Church:* Discover everything happening at HopeTown Church—services, upcoming events, and more—at [www.hopetown.church](https://www.hopetown.church)! SEEDS Week 4 | Pastor Tim Ashley | March 15, 2026 | Wheat and Weeds

*The Secret to Living Together in a World of Weeds* Why does God allow "weeds" to grow alongside the "wheat"? In Week 4 of our SEEDS series, we dive into the Parable of the Weeds from Matthew 13 to discover why God’s grace allows both to grow together and what that means for us today. As we continue our year of being "Together," we explore how our nature isn't defined by our effort, but by the seed we are born from. Are you living from the corrupted seed of the first Adam, or the imperishable, perfect nature of the second Adam, Jesus Christ? In this message, Pastor Tim shares: *The Difference:* Understanding that the primary distinction between the wheat and the weeds is the seed they come from (1 Peter 1:23). *The Discovery:* Why God’s grace allows the "wheat" and "weeds" to grow together in the same field until the harvest. *The Determination:* How to examine your own life and determine which nature is growing within you. Scripture References: Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43 (The Parable of the Weeds) 1 Corinthians 12:27 (Being part of Christ’s body) 1 Peter 1:23 (Born of imperishable seed) Romans 5:15 (The gift of God's grace) -------------------------------------------------------- *Connect with HopeTown Church:* Discover everything happening at HopeTown Church—services, upcoming events, and more—at [www.hopetown.church](https://www.hopetown.church)! SEEDS Week 3 | Pastor Tim Ashley | March 8, 2026

In Week 3 of our "SEEDS" series, Pastor Tim Ashley continues our journey through the biblical principles of growth and harvest. Building on our word for the year, Together, we look at how our individual "seeds" contribute to the health of the whole body. As 1 Corinthians 12:27 reminds us: "All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it." Today, Pastor Tim explores the mechanics of God’s Kingdom—how seeds grow in secret and the specific laws that govern what we reap in our lives. Key Takeaways from Week 3: The 5 Laws of Sowing: *1.* Seed not sown does not grow. *2.* You reap what you sow. *3.* You reap later than you sow. *4.* You reap more than you sow. *5.* In God’s Kingdom, you can reap where you did not sow. Kingdom Thinking vs. Common Thinking*: Pastor Tim breaks down how to apply "The Word of God" mindset to four major areas of life: Talent: From seeking fame to fulfilling your God-given purpose (Ephesians 2:10). Relationships: From "What can I get?" to "How can I love?" (Proverbs 11:30). Money: Moving from a fear of lack to a life of generosity (2 Corinthians 9:6). Pain: Trading weeping for the promise of future joy (Psalm 126:6). -------------------------------------------------------- *Connect with HopeTown Church:* Discover everything happening at HopeTown Church—services, upcoming events, and more—at [www.hopetown.church](https://www.hopetown.church)!
