    Case #047 - Alison Botha

Welcome to Episode Forty-Seven of Do You Dare?   This week we’re covering a case with facts so unbelievable that if there wasn’t the evidence to back them it would be easy to believe that this was something out of a far fetched and almost inconceivable lifetime movie.   (Trigger warnings: Graphic descriptions of gore and violence, descriptions of rape and sexual assault, mentions of child abuse and molestation, mentions of the occult and satanic beliefs, graphic descriptions of horrific wounds.)   In this episode Em covers the unbelievable case of Alison Botha, the victim of a particular vicious and brutal abduction, rape and attack at the hands of two predators who by all accounts should have actually been in jail at the time it happened rather than out in bail thanks to other similarly horrific acts they’d already committed.   Follow along with us as we explore Alison’s story as well as digging into the background of the two men that were already on a dark and dangerous path of violence against women. This is a case full of twists, turns and reveals that will shock you to your very core and have you questioning whether thanks to technicalities on the justice systems whether it was actually truly served.   Thanks to everyone who has joined us for this week's case and we hope to see you back next episode when Cian looks into an urban legend that is not only linked with the extraterrestrial but has also grown big enough to inspire its own movie franchise.   If you enjoyed this episode it would mean the world to us if you could take a minute to rate, review and subscribe!  Don't forget you can join in the conversation with us over on social media to share your thoughts and theories.  You can contact us at doyoudarepodcast@gmail.com if you want to suggest cases, tell us your personal true crime or paranormal stories to be read out in future listener episodes or just to say hi!   *Ad included at the beginning of this episode is for Macabre Mondays Podcast and you can find them at @macabremondayspodcast on Instagram for more information.*   (sources for this episode were: all that’s interesting article, medium articles, mandela.ac.za, parliament.gov.za, multiple daily maverick articles, womenforchange.co.za, news24.com, yahoonews.com, google, morbid podcast and the criminal makeup podcast.)
