Can You Still Change Your Body After 40? (Honest Answer)

There is a sentence I have now heard from probably forty different women in the last year, almost word for word. And every woman who says it to me is, at the moment she's saying it, working harder than the woman next to her at the grocery store. In this episode I'm sitting with the real question underneath it, which is, can I still change my body after 40, or is it just too late. We talk about what actually shifted about the rules, why the old toolkit becomes a tax in this decade, and the one cracked-open basic that I have watched quietly change everything for the women I coach. If you already know which basic is yours and the problem is the loop that keeps undoing it before Sunday, take a few minutes with my Sabotage Quiz at catharineadams.com. It names the specific saboteur that's running the show, which is a much more useful starting place than try harder. Then come find me in the DMs and tell me which basic you're going to anchor on this week. Why Going Solo Never Works: The Truth About Accountability in Weight Loss

It's Sunday night. The kitchen is finally quiet, and you're standing in front of the meal prep containers you bought three weeks ago, still in the bag, telling yourself for the fourth time this year that this is really the week. And you haven't told a single soul, because what if you don't follow through. Again. If that just landed somewhere familiar, this one is for you. This week on Macro Mindset, I'm talking about why doing this whole nutrition thing completely solo keeps backfiring, and what it actually means to be accountable to yourself, not in a white-knuckle, willpower kind of way, but in a small, doable, weirdly kind kind of way. We talk about the difference between someone checking up on you and someone checking in with you, and I give you two small moves to try this week so you can start being a steadier witness to your own effort. If you want to know which pattern keeps pulling you off course, my Saboteur Quiz is a quick, useful place to start, it lives on my site at http://catharineadams.com , link is in the show notes. And if you want a free community of women doing this same work, the Macros Inc Facebook group is open and you are welcome in there any time. The 5pm Wine Glass and the Science of Habit Loops

It's 5pm, you're tired, and your brain is already reaching for the wine glass. But here's what nobody tells you. That reach has almost nothing to do with the wine. It's a habit loop, and once you understand the cue, the routine, and the reward, you can change the whole pattern. In this episode, I'm breaking down the science of habit loops, why certain foods and drinks hijack the loop harder than others, and why a clear boundary might actually be easier than white-knuckling moderation every single night. Why You're Two Different People Monday-Friday vs. Weekends

Monday through Friday, you're a nutrition rock star. Then Friday night hits and by Sunday you're wondering who you even are. But here's the thing nobody talks about. Those aren't just habits flipping on and off. Those are actually different parts of you taking the wheel at different times. In this episode, I'm breaking down what's really happening when the weekend rolls around, why fighting your "weekend self" only makes the swing bigger, and how to get both versions of you working together instead of against each other. Why You Know What To Do But Can't Do It Consistently - Macro Mindset 23

If you’ve ever started the week convinced “this time will be different” and then felt everything unravel by mid-week, this episode is for you. I’m talking to you about the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it consistently—and why that gap does not mean something is wrong with you. In this short, focused episode, I walk you through why willpower isn’t a personality trait and why “just try harder” is not only unhelpful—it’s cruel. Then I give you one small shift that changes how consistency works: instead of chasing perfect outcomes, you start building identity through tiny, repeatable promises. Because small actions create identity, and identity makes follow-through feel more automatic over time. By the end, you’ll choose one tiny identity-based habit you can practise this week—something that takes under two minutes—and you’ll track one thing only: whether you kept the promise to yourself. This is about learning to return to the path again and again, even when life gets messy. Need more help?! Let me know - tag me in the Macros Inc Facebook group, send me a message on FB or IG, or email me at iam@catharineadams.com, and I'm more than happy to help YOU!
