#60: Casey Taton Turns Pain into Purpose and Never Loses

I had the pleasure to have a deep, and heartfelt conversation with Casey Taton, founder of Little Moments Big Dreams Celebrations, based in Wichita, Kansas.   Little Moments Big Dreams Celebrations, and Casey's podcast, The Inner Spark Podcast, would not be in existence if she wouldn't have had the worst experience of her life.   Casey knew something was wrong with her, health wise, and after having to convince doctors, navigate the medical system, pave her own path through the system, and have many doctor visits, scans, tests, surgeries, treatments, and more, she is more than just an overcomer.   She's an inspiration and a leader.  She is someone to learn from and get support from.  She is wise and resilient. Listen to this episode as Casey talks about: turning her pain into a greater purposehow battling invisible illness is exhausting but there's still joy to be found.how you still have choice and how there's good in the world, even after being emotionally "beat-up."there is a light in us that needs to be shinedyou never know what someone is going through and resilience isn't always loud and bold.  keep moving forward anyway and know you can never lose.  seeing the beauty and magic in life is choice. There are so many gems and take-aways in this episode.  Listen and learn from Casey and connect and support her Little Moments Big Dreams Celebrations. #59: Build Confidence When You Don't Feel Ready | Borrowing Bravery

Confidence isn't something you have to have before you take action. In this episode, I share a heartwarming story about my young nieces and one of my sons, a backyard pool, and one simple jump that changed everything.  Watching someone else do something you're afraid to do can give you the courage to try it yourself.  It reveals a powerful truth about how confidence is really built. If you've been waiting until you feel "ready" to make a change, start something new, have a difficult conversation, or take a leap toward the life you want, you'll want to listen to this episode.   You'll discover that confidence rarely comes first, courage is contagious, and how "borrowing someone else's brave" might be exactly what you need to take your next step. Sometimes, all it takes is seeing that someone else has gone first. . Houston Peeps - Niki Sterner and myself will be presenting " No Knockouts meets Move Forward Messy" on Thursday, July 23rd at 6:00pm here in Houston.  You're invited to attend.  Sign up here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/no-knockouts-meets-move-forward-messy-tickets-1994284910853?aff=oddtdtcreator . #56: Cultural Relationship Expert Tanya Mitra Talks Relationship Intelligence, Resilience, & Midlife Reinvention

This episode of the No Knockouts podcast hosts Tanya Mitra, the creator of Cultural Relationship Intelligence™ (CRI), a cultural relationship expert, and co-host of TLC's 90 Day: Hunt for Love and Between the Sheets. As the Canadian-born daughter of Indian immigrants, Tanya has spent her life navigating cultural identity, belonging, and the complexities of interracial and intercultural relationships. She developed her culturally focused approach after her own life imploded - losing her VP fashion career and her marriage within six weeks of each other and finding herself rebuilding life as a single mother from the ground up. Today, Tanya helps women and couples better understand how culture shapes the way they see themselves, communicate, connect, define success, and experience love. Through coaching, speaking, media appearances, and content, she has helped thousands of people think differently about relationships, identity, and the stories they've inherited about who they're supposed to be. In this episode, we talk: relationship/marriage coaching vs therapyis it too late to rebuild a relationship?blame, resentment, and accountability in relationships/marriagethe challenges couples face, especially in interracial relationshipswhat makes a marriage/relationship resilientthe most sensitive time in a marriagemidlife reinventionthe importance of resilience in marriage and relationshipsTanya coaches both couples and women.  Tanya can be found: Website:  https://thetanyamitra.com/ Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/thetanyamitra/ Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/thetanyamitra Tiktok:  https://www.tiktok.com/@thetanyamitra LinkedIn:  https://www.linkedin.com/in/thetanyamitra/ Free Resource from Tanya: 39 QUESTIONS EVERY COUPLE SHOULD ASK - A Guide for Interracial, Interfaith & Intercultural Couples . #55: All Knotted Up: Get Untangled

Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or pulled in a dozen different directions? Sometimes life feels more than just busy.  It feels tangled. In this episode of the No Knockouts Podcast, I share a simple experience with a tightly knotted shoelace that becomes a powerful metaphor for the emotional knots we all face. Whether you're carrying unresolved hurt, facing difficult decisions, relationship challenges, self-doubt, or uncertainty about the future, this episode will help you slow down, assess the situation, and begin untangling one strand at a time. You'll learn practical strategies for navigating overwhelm, identifying what is within your control, letting go of what isn't yours to carry, and finding your next right step. I also share The Knots Prayer for those seeking peace, clarity, and strength when life feels especially complicated. If you're feeling all knotted up, this episode is a reminder that knots are not permanent, and with patience, resilience, and intention, you can get untangled. . #54: Embrace Inexperience: Be a Beginner

Have you stopped trying new things because you don't want to look foolish, awkward, or inexperienced? In this episode of the No Knockouts Podcast, I explore why so many of us avoid being beginners and how that fear may be keeping us from growth, opportunity, and fulfillment. From childhood, when learning and making mistakes were expected, to adulthood, where we often feel pressure to appear competent and confident, many of us develop a fear of looking new. If you've ever delayed starting a business, joining a group, learning a skill, changing careers, or pursuing a dream because you weren't sure you'd be good at it, this episode is for you. You'll learn: • Why being a beginner is essential for personal growth • How protecting your ego can keep you stuck • The power of adopting a beginner's mindset • Why midlife often requires us to become beginners again • How confidence is built through experience, not before it Every expert was once a beginner. Every meaningful chapter starts with not knowing. It's time to embrace inexperience, get curious, and give yourself permission to grow. Because if it feels awkward, uncomfortable, or unfamiliar, it may be a sign you're expanding into a bigger life. . Shift Your Energy and Accomplish More. I Dare You!

In this episode of the No Knockouts podcast, I talk about the power of daring yourself to take action instead of staying stuck in overthinking, fear, perfectionism, and endless planning. Inspired by the old-school game show Double Dare, this episode explores how a playful shift in energy can help you stop hesitating and finally start doing. If you’ve been waiting until you feel ready, motivated, confident, or certain before chasing your goals, this conversation is your challenge to move anyway. I share about:  stop overthinking and start implementing  turn knowledge into action  overcome fear with courage  break out of stagnation and comfort zones  shift your mindset and energy to accomplish more  face obstacles instead of avoiding them  dare yourself into growth, momentum, and a better life This episode is a reminder that your life may not change from one more plan, book, or podcast… but it just might change from one brave act of movement. If you’re ready to stop waiting and start going after what you really want, this episode is for you. I dare you to listen....
