    #104 - When Coyotes Join the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra Chant

    What happens when the coyotes in your backyard join the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra? A croaky early-morning chant turns into a full chorus of holy names, sirens, birdsong, and wild coyote voices. Haribol! Srimati Dasi leads this tender, wonderfully imperfect kirtan, and the coyotes answer from their den nearby. They're all trying to chant the holy names, too, or at least that's how it feels when every living being seems to be praising the Lord in its own mysterious way. And then comes the reminder we sometimes need: the material world is noisy. There's chaos, quarrel, confusion, anxiety, and plenty of sirens. We can't always arrange perfect conditions for spiritual practice. So we hear, chant, and remember anyway. In Bhakti yoga, these first three devotional practices are known as Shravanam, Kirtanam, and Vishnu-smaranam, hearing about the Lord, chanting His names, and remembering Him. The Maha Mantra gives the mind somewhere loving to rest: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare The practice begins with hearing. Then something opens. We start wanting to serve the Lord, honor Him, offer our talents, and care for all His children, every living being wherever there is life. So if your morning is noisy, your pronunciation is wobbly, or you feel a little croaky yourself, come chant anyway. You don't need perfect circumstances. You need a sincere voice, a willing heart, and a few holy names. Peace, freedom, joy. Hari Bol, sweet souls.

    #103 - Can Rabbits Hear the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra? One Evening Chant in Southern Ontario

    Two little rabbit bodies, a beautiful Southern Ontario dusk, and a few minutes of Hare Krishna chanting beside the street. Sweet souls, there they are, munching grass while keeping one eye open for hawks, foxes, coyotes, and passing cars. This grainy little video turns into a gentle reminder: every living being is looking for a moment of peace. The rabbits eat, sleep, mate, and defend according to their bodies. We have been given a human body, so what will we do with it? Who am I? Why am I here? Is there a way off the wheel of birth, old age, disease, and death? We chant the Maha-mantra together: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare No perfect voice is needed. No special place is required. Just sound, breath, sincerity, and a willing heart. Chanting can travel through the neighborhood, through the trees, and into the ears of every living entity nearby. A little gift, freely given. And then, right at the end, someone sees the light. Literally. Haribol, sweet souls. Chant and be happy.

    #102 - We Chanted With Seals, Then Nearly Burned Our Toes

    Sweet souls, we found ourselves at Cape Cod Seashore National Park, standing in the burning sand, getting bitten by fierce little flies, soaking our clothes in cold ocean water, and chanting with the seals. Haribol! There were seals everywhere, boats out on the water, kelp along the shore, and one very special white seal devotee who appeared just in time for the chanting. We laughed, shivered, complained about the material world, and remembered that even a beautiful beach comes with hot toes, cold water, sneaky monsters, and the possibility of being carried out to sea and eaten by fishes. A playful beach walk opens into a simple reflection on why this material world isn't our eternal home, and why Krishna consciousness isn't something artificial imposed on us. Chanting, remembering, serving, and returning to our natural essence are already part of who we are. Come along for seals, sarcasm, wet pants, heavy-duty flies, and a little seaside bhakti with JuicyMagiK On the Go. Sometimes the holy name shows up at the temple, sometimes in a tiny van, and sometimes with a whole crowd of seals listening from the water.

    #101 - The Boston Temple, Srila Prabhupada, and Coming Full Circle

    Haribol, namaste, sweet souls. Today Juicy MagiK is on the go in Boston, standing beside a momentous monument connected with Srila Prabhupada's arrival at Boston Harbor in September 1965. We had previously visited the other part of this story in Kolkata, at the temple where Srila Prabhupada set off on the Jaladuta, so being here feels like a beautiful closing circle. We reflect on the living current of Krishna consciousness, a movement that carries ancient wisdom into the present day through simple hearing, repeating God's names, remembering, and devotional service. No hard and fast rules, no narrow doorway. All are welcome. We also imagine Srila Prabhupada and Jadurani Dasi (Syamarani Didi) walking these Boston streets, remembering the devotees, the paintings, the service, and the long line of spiritual teachers that carries the teachings forward like a strong umbrella, keeping out the rain. And then, a lovely darshan, prasadam, and the kindness of a devotee who welcomed us with such warmth. Sometimes pilgrimage is a monument, sometimes it's a memory, sometimes it's an older lady with a beautiful heart who feeds you and sends you on your way with blessings. Come walk with us, remember with us, chant with us, and be happy.

    #100 - Sacred Art, Bhakti Yoga, and a Visit to Alex and Allyson Grey's Museum

    Alex Grey's Sacred Art, Bhakti Yoga, and the Open Road. Come along with Juicy MagiK for a sweet visit to the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, where extraordinary works by Alex and Allyson Grey fill the third floor of this beautiful museum space. We're here to celebrate our dear Devi, hear her wonderful words, and take in the colors, faces, symbols, and many layers of this sacred art. Mark shares a little personal history too, remembering seeing Alex Grey's work in Colorado back in 1991, and the inspiration it gives us as we dream about creating a temple of our own, something like this and even more. There's also a gentle reflection on the path of yoga. Austerity and knowledge have their place, but bhakti yoga brings a special sweetness, the simple practice of connecting with God through the holy names. No need to sit in the middle of a pyramid of nothingness. You can chant, pray, and remember the Divine wherever you are. Then, just like that, we're moving again, headed toward Boston, Quebec City, and Montreal. A little sacred art, a little travel magic, a little holy name in the heart. Come with us, sweet souls.     #97 - The New York Stock Exchange, Bitcoin, and the Greed That Can Set You Free

    What does "greed is good" mean when you're standing outside the New York Stock Exchange? In this Juicy MagiK on the Go, we turn the phrase upside down, or perhaps right side up. After crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, we talk about material greed, the endless wanting for more money, more things, more status, more followers, and the spiritual greed that can actually nourish the heart. A thirst for wisdom. Hunger for self-realization. Greed to chant the holy names, to keep company with saintly people, and to come closer to Radha and Krishna. There's also gratitude for America, reflections on religious freedom and liberty, a playful conversation about sound money, and an official announcement about Sacred Vedic Arts becoming the first Vedic temple powered by Bitcoin, running a node and mining Bitcoin. We share a little personal honesty too. A big house, indoor pool, sauna, tennis court, dogs, and all the outer signs of success still didn't bring happiness. Sometimes spiritual life begins when we admit that more stuff isn't giving us more peace. Then, naturally, there is dog poop on the concrete and a bit of laughter. Spiritual life is the best. It's a lot of fun.
