    017: Losing Everything but Faith w/ LB Towns Jr.

    013: The Last Possession w/ Shyheim Odom

    The thirteenth episode of UNSCRIPT'D (00:00), w/ guest Shyheim Odom who was recently a student at Howard University, begins with status update on life in Vermont. (1:58) We get into his early life in Boston being raised by an 18-year old mother (2:34) and the overall basketball atmosphere in Boston. We dive into the transition to the west coast, attending Sierra Canyon high school (10:01) and what it was like being on an elite high school team and being around legends like LeBron James and Dwayne Wade. He gets into what the first few days were like when he stepped on campus (16:34) before getting into what it's been like having to carry the weight of a successful last name (18:05) and the deeper issue his struggles stem from as a black person (21:58). We then get into the reality of a student-athlete's mentality when trying to reach the highest level (26:47) and how he was able to see his life as something more than just football.
