    From Accusation to Awe

Ever cry out, "Lord, don't You care?" in the middle of a storm? Pastor Cashman preaches Luke 8:22-25, where the disciples go from accusation to awe. Jesus told His disciples to cross the lake, then slept while a real storm filled their boat. Pastor Cashman points out they had obeyed and still met the storm, because faith is uncomfortable and obedience is about honoring God's authority, not guaranteeing ease. The real problem was not the storm but how they viewed Jesus. When He silenced the wind, they were left asking what manner of man this is. No boat sinks with Christ aboard, and God does not waste our trials. Pastor Cashman challenges believers to trust that God will take them to the other side as He promised, and to let their storms prepare them to minister to others. The God Who Has Already Provided

Worried about how your needs will be met? In this devotional, Pastor Cashman looks at Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, from Genesis 22. Pastor Cashman retells Abraham and Isaac on the mount and explains that provide means to see ahead: God sees our needs and is already there waiting. He calls the name one of deliverance, since God provided a substitute for Isaac, a picture of Jesus taking our place, one of assurance that God supplies what we need when we need it, and one that encourages obedience. Pastor Cashman challenges believers to live by faith and trust the Lord with every area of life they are struggling with. Staying Grounded in Discouraging Times

Ever wonder if you made the wrong choice when life gets hard? In Luke 7:18-28, Pastor Cashman looks at John the Baptist's doubts from prison. John sent his disciples to ask Jesus, "Art thou he that should come?" Pastor Cashman traces how wrong expectations lead to disillusionment and discouragement, and notes that John did the right thing by taking his doubts straight to Jesus. Jesus answered simply, pointing to His works and to Scripture, then publicly praised John's faithfulness and fearlessness. John questioned whether to stick with Jesus, but Jesus never questioned whether He would stick with John. Pastor Cashman challenges believers to take their doubts to Jesus and His Word, and to rest in the truth that He still loves them, still seeks them, and is still faithful. Is God Your Adonai?

Is God really the Lord of your life? In this devotional, Pastor Cashman studies Adonai, the name of God that means master. Pastor Cashman says the name carries possession and submission. God owns us because He made us, and with ownership comes His provision, as He promised Abraham and as Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount. True worship acknowledges that we were created for His pleasure, and believers were bought with a price. Pastor Cashman challenges believers to obey the Lord today, even in the tough things. When Death and Life Meet

Facing a loss that feels hopeless? In Luke 7:11-17, Pastor Cashman shows what happened when Jesus met a funeral procession at Nain. A widow was burying her only son, which also meant losing her support. Jesus stopped, told her not to weep, touched the bier, and raised the young man. Pastor Cashman points to the problem of sin and death, Jesus' personal compassion for one hurting person, and His power, shown when He acted without being asked. The crowd called Him a prophet but missed that He is also priest and king. When death and life meet, and life is Jesus, life wins. Pastor Cashman challenges believers to bring their hurts to the Savior who cares about each one, to know the complete Jesus, and to live devoted to Him. The Name Above Every Name

Who is the God who says, "I AM"? In this devotional, Pastor Cashman studies the name Yahweh, or Jehovah, from Exodus 3:13-14. This name appears more than 6,800 times in the Old Testament. Pastor Cashman explains that it shows God is eternal and lives outside of time, that He is self-existent and needs nothing, that He delivers His people, and that He is unchanging, so His power is still active today. Pastor Cashman challenges believers to be encouraged that the God who delivered Israel still delivers people today. The first thing God wants you to know

Is anything too hard for God? In this devotional, Pastor Cashman begins the names of God series with Elohim, the name in Genesis 1:1. Elohim means strong one, or one of power. Pastor Cashman explains that this power is creative, making something out of nothing, that it carries authority because the Creator owns all things, and that it is binding, since God keeps His promises, as He swore to Abraham. He reminds listeners that we were created for God's pleasure. Pastor Cashman challenges believers to be reminded daily that the God who is powerful and keeps His promises is their God.
