Episode 21: Walking for Memories with Manny Maciel

In this powerful episode of From That Comes This, host Rebecca Foster sits down with Manny Maciel to share a story of resilience, purpose, and unwavering love. At 70 years young, Manny has set out to walk 70 kilometers in a single day on May 16, 2026, in support of Alzheimer’s awareness and research, with a goal of raising $50,000. This isn’t just a physical challenge. It’s deeply personal. Manny opens up about the connection behind his mission and how it has fueled his commitment to take on something extraordinary. His journey is a reminder that even as memories fade, the love we carry for those affected by Alzheimer’s never does. Together, Rebecca and Manny also shed light on the growing impact of Alzheimer’s disease in Canada, where hundreds of thousands are currently living with it and that number continues to rise. This episode brings both awareness and heart, highlighting the importance of action, advocacy, and community support. Manny Maciel is walking for memories—and for every family touched by this disease.
