Embracing Authenticity: A Journey of Self-Discovery

In this episode of Unpolished Truths, Amber-Lea invites you into the tender, liberating process of reclaiming your story. She reflects on her lifelong pattern of people-pleasing, the grief of relationships shifting, and the spiritual unlearning required to return to herself. With honesty and softness, she speaks about learning to tell the truth without blame, trusting her body, and letting her faith evolve. From childhood writing to adult healing, this is a story about reclaiming your voice, honoring your inner wisdom, and choosing an authentic future, even when it costs you comfort. 2. Healing from Fear-Based Faith: Reclaiming Wholeness After Religious Trauma

Healing from Fear-Based Faith: Reclaiming Wholeness After Religious Trauma

If you've ever sat in a church pew wondering why your heart still felt heavy, this one's for you. In this special episode, you're joining me on my morning walk, the rhythm of my steps matching the rhythm of my thoughts. This isn't a polished chat; it's an honest conversation about faith, fear, and finding your way home to yourself. I grew up inside a high-control, fear-based religion - where obedience mattered more than curiosity, and questions felt like sin. For years, I tried to be the "good Christian girl," convinced that if I followed the rules perfectly, I'd finally feel worthy. But instead, I learned how to hide my doubt, silence my voice, and shrink my soul. Eventually, I couldn't ignore the ache anymore. The God I was taught to fear didn't align with the love I'd come to know. And if this so-called "free will" came with eternal punishment, was it really free at all? That's where my spiritual deconstruction began, not as rebellion, but as remembrance. What happens when belief is built on fear instead of freedomWhy many of us unconsciously search for love and validation outside ourselvesHow healing begins when you remember you were never broken to begin withWhat "manifestation" really means when it's grounded in presence, not pressure I share how the book Conversations with God cracked something open for me - reminding me that spirituality can be curious, embodied, and safe again. That maybe God, Source, or Spirit was never about hierarchy or shame, but connection. And somewhere between all the questions and quiet mornings, I began to realize: I was born whole. I was never missing anything. That truth changed everything. Because when you stop chasing completeness in other people, in performance, or in religion - you start feeling the peace that's been waiting inside you all along. This episode isn't about rejecting God. It's about rediscovering your own truth within God - within love, within presence, within you. If you're navigating faith reconstruction, wrestling with spiritual abuse from evangelical Christianity or fundamentalist religion, or learning to trust yourself again after religious trauma, I hope you feel seen here. You're not alone. You're not crazy for questioning. You're not lost for leaving. You're actually finding your way home. As we close, I invite you to take a deep breath. To remember that your healing doesn't need to be rushed. To trust that you're allowed to rebuild your spirituality in a way that feels safe, gentle, and real. If you're craving a sacred space to keep doing that work - I want to invite you to something special. The Soft Reset Retreat is for women who are ready to rest, reconnect, and return to themselves. It's a weekend of softness, healing, and remembering - surrounded by women who get it. It's not about fixing yourself. It's about remembering yourself. About finding belonging in your own skin again. About breathing deeper, trusting your voice, and letting your soul exhale. If your spirit's been whispering "I can't do this alone anymore," this is your invitation. Join us at amberleaspeaks.com/softresetretreat Because you were never broken. You were born whole, and it's time to remember. 💛

  3. “She’s” on the Other Side of the Door (and I’m Hesitating)

    10/03/2025

“She’s” on the Other Side of the Door (and I’m Hesitating)

In this episode, I’m telling the truth about a season I know many of us find ourselves in, that space between who we are and who we’re becoming. The door in front of me is wide open. I can see the woman on the other side of it so clearly; brave, grounded, moving with conviction… and still, I’m standing here hesitating. The truth is, I’ve been playing small. And honestly? It’s been working… at least in the short term. It’s safe here. It’s comfortable. After walking through a really hard season of life, that safety has felt like a relief. But lately, I’ve been realizing how seductive that comfort can be and how it quietly keeps me from stepping fully into the life, the calling, and the impact I know are waiting. In this episode, I open up about what’s been holding me back, the fears that surface at the threshold, and how staying “almost ready” has become its own kind of story. I talk about the spiritual and emotional wrestling that happens when you can see what’s possible but haven’t fully said yes yet. I also share how I’ve been navigating this season through micro-steps, voice memo reflections, and honest conversations with God — trusting that even if I don’t walk through the door today, my path won’t miss me. If you’ve ever felt yourself lingering between comfort and calling, this one’s for you. ✨ In this episode, I share: • Why playing small can feel easier (and even “work” for a while) • How fear and spiritual hesitation show up when the door opens • What micro-steps have been helping me build trust in myself again • The tension between dreaming about “her” and becoming her • A reminder that readiness isn’t a requirement for transformation I hope this episode reminds you that you’re not alone on the threshold. Whether you’re navigating change, healing, spiritual growth, or a quiet identity shift… take a breath. You’re right on time.
