#31 Why No One Asks About You

I came home from the family gathering, the birthday party, a weekend away — and somewhere in the quiet of the drive home, it hit me. Not one person asked about me. And just like that, the whole weekend got a different color. If you’ve ever felt that sting — that quiet, confusing hurt of being the one who holds space for everyone else while wondering if anyone even notices you exist — this episode is for you. I get completely honest about a question I’ve been sitting with for years: why does it always seem like nobody asks about me? And more importantly, what does that question actually reveal about where I’ve been looking for my power? This isn’t a fluffy conversation about toxic family dynamics or how to demand better from people. It’s a deep and honest look at the gap between being genuinely hurt and being the victim of your own story and how the moment I stopped waiting to be seen by others was the moment everything shifted. In this episode I explore: * Why the people we call “family” carry a weight of expectation that other relationships don’t and why that’s worth questioning * The difference between genuine hurt and victim mentality and how I learned to honor both without getting stuck in either * What the 90-second emotional rule actually means and why I was skipping the one step that would have freed me so much faster * How showing up already full completely changes the energy of every conversation I walk into * The powerful question I now ask myself when I notice I wanted something from someone who didn’t deliver it * Why “they didn’t ask about me” is almost never about me and what it actually is about Here’s what I’m leaving you with: Every interaction you have with someone is for you. The moment I stopped waiting to receive love and started being it, that’s when the entire frequency of my life changed. This episode will make you rethink your last family gathering, your last one-sided conversation, and the quiet places inside you that are still waiting to be asked about. Because here’s the real question: What is it you were hoping they’d recognize and what if you gave that to yourself instead? Want to stay close? 28. Maybe You Don't Need to Try So Hard

In this heartfelt conversation, I sit down with my friend Britta of Aligned & Undefined to explore what it means to trust yourself in a world that constantly asks you to do more, move faster, and prove your worth. While our conversation begins with Human Design and Britta’s experience as a Reflector, it quickly expands into something much deeper: learning to honor your own timing, choosing environments that support your well-being, releasing the need to fix others, and returning to the wisdom of the body and heart. Together we explore the tension between productivity and presence, the courage required to slow down, and the quiet joy that can be found in everyday life. Whether you’re familiar with Human Design or not, this conversation is an invitation to question the pressures you’ve inherited and reconnect with what feels true for you. In This Episode We Explore * Britta’s experience living as a Reflector * Why environment matters more than we often realize * The difference between presence and performance * Letting go of responsibility for other people’s reactions * Root pressure, over-functioning, and trusting your timing * Returning to the body instead of living in the mind * Finding safety within yourself * The role Human Design has played in our personal journeys * Why slowing down can be an act of leadership * Rediscovering joy through simple everyday moments * The courage to live from your heart rather than external expectations Memorable Moments “Sometimes my presence is just enough.” “This rush that we put on ourselves to get things done is made up.” “Life is too short to trudge along under other people’s expectations.” Connect with Britta Britta is the creator of Aligned & Undefined, where she works with the Akashic Records and supports others in reconnecting with their own wisdom and alignment. #24 The Truth About Entrepreneurship No One Talks About

In this solo episode of Deep Conversations with Valerie Birch, Valerie shares a pattern she has been observing for years while building her own business. As more people step into entrepreneurship and creating work aligned with their gifts, there is often a strong focus on strategies, systems, and building something successful. But Valerie reveals a deeper truth: the real work isn’t only in the business itself. It’s in the everyday moments of life. How you respond to the mundane moments — your tone of voice with your children, your patience in moments of stress, your ability to soften and stay present — shapes the energy you bring into everything you create. Instead of separating business from life, Valerie invites us to recognize that the way we live our lives is the foundation of the work we share with the world. What resonated for you?
