Sermon Replay: Isaiah 9:6 Prince of Peace -Pastor Jason Roach Sept 13, 2026

What does it really mean that Jesus is called the Prince of Peace? In this final message from the series on Isaiah 9:6, we explore the meaning behind one of Scripture’s most familiar titles for Jesus. While we often think of peace as quiet circumstances, fewer problems, or a break from the pressures of life, biblical peace goes much deeper. Isaiah's announcement is a royal one: a King is coming. Jesus is not simply someone who helps us feel peaceful—He came to establish peace. His kingdom is different from the kingdoms of this world. Rather than conquering through military power, Jesus conquered through the cross, giving His life even for those who were His enemies. The message explores the biblical concept of shalom—wholeness, completeness, well-being, and life as God intended it to be. Beginning with Eden, we see how sin shattered humanity's peace with God and how Jesus came to restore what was broken. The sermon then considers two dimensions of peace: Peace with God — Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, humanity can be reconciled to God. The peace of God — Even when circumstances remain difficult, Jesus offers a peace that is not dependent on everything going according to plan. Through the story of Jesus calming the storm, we are reminded that sometimes God calms the storm around us, and sometimes He brings peace to us while we are still in the storm. But the message doesn't end with receiving peace. If Jesus is truly the Prince of Peace, His peace should become visible through the lives of His followers. We are called to be peacemakers—in our marriages, families, churches, workplaces, friendships, disagreements, and everyday interactions. The message ultimately brings us to one question: Is the Prince of Peace ruling me? Isaiah connects the increase of Jesus' government with the increase of His peace. The more we surrender to His rule, the more room His peace has to reign in our lives. Whether you're facing anxiety, conflict, uncertainty, hurt, unforgiveness, or simply longing for a deeper relationship with God, this message points us back to Jesus—the One Isaiah saw centuries before Bethlehem: Wonderful Counselor.Mighty God.Everlasting Father.Prince of Peace. Discover the peace that humanity has been searching for since Eden—and consider what it means to let the Prince rule. Faith, Fatherhood & Finding Your Way to God

In this episode, Zack Fleming, Devan Schroeder, Nate Suave, and Toni Clemmings sit down for an open conversation about faith, finding God, growing up in church, and what it means to pass that faith on to the next generation. Zack and Devan share how their relationships with God began and the people and moments that helped make their faith real. Zack reflects on an unexpected invitation to church, experiencing the presence of God for the first time, finding a community that welcomed him, and ultimately receiving the Holy Ghost and being baptized. His story is a reminder that God can use seemingly small encounters—and the people He places in our lives—to completely change our direction. Devan speaks about discovering the realness of God and how that experience helped him better understand himself. He reflects on faith as a lifelong journey: remembering where you came from, continuing to grow, and using your experiences to help others along the way. Having grown up in church, Nate and Toni bring another perspective to the conversation. Together, the group talks about prodigals, mistakes, obedience, and how their own experiences are shaping the kind of parents they want to be. Rather than hiding the difficult parts of their journeys, they discuss being open and approachable with their children and using what they have learned to help the next generation navigate their own walk with God. Through stories of faith, fatherhood, community, and second chances, the conversation comes back to a simple message: come as you are, come with an open heart, and remember that it doesn't matter where you started. Sometimes faith the size of a mustard seed—and a willingness to take the next step—is all God is asking for. And through it all, even in the smallest details, God cares.

Mental Health, Faith & Finding Support | Featuring Tiana Brown & Dr. Jassett Crooks

Mental health affects every one of us, but it can still be difficult to talk about—especially within our families, communities, and churches. In this episode, we’re joined by Tiana Brown and Dr. Jassett Crooks for an open and practical conversation about mental health, mental illness, stigma, and the importance of creating spaces where people feel comfortable asking for help. Together, we explore what good mental health looks like, the difference between mental health and mental illness, and how attitudes toward these conversations have changed across generations. We also look at the Church’s role in supporting mental wellness and how faith, prayer, community, and professional care can work alongside one another. The conversation moves into everyday life—relationships, parenting, marriage, school, work, and faith—and some of the signs that we or the people around us may be struggling. We discuss stress, anxiety, burnout, depression, isolation, healthy boundaries, and practical ways to care for our mental well-being. Most importantly, this is a conversation about making it easier to talk, listen, and reach out for support. If something in today's conversation resonates with you, you don't have to carry it alone. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, or simply feeling overwhelmed, support is available. We encourage you to talk with someone you trust, connect with your church community, speak with a medical or mental health professional, or reach out to learn more about New Hope Church's Hope & Healing ministry.
