    20. Finding Freedom from Bipolar: Moving Beyond Labels, Religious Shame, and Trauma (w/ Mordy Gottlieb)

KEY TAKEAWAYS:  How Mordy was able to step away from medication after years of identifying with a bipolar diagnosis Why mental health labels like OCD or bipolar can become “sticky identities” that shape how we see ourselves What happens when spirituality is separated from religion after experiencing religious shame How simple nervous system regulation can sometimes do more than complex therapy approaches Why one unexpected question can reveal the root of someone’s struggle How shifting from rigid goals to personal attitudes can completely change the way we measure success Why integration and self-care practices matter as much as the healing modalities themselves Today's Guest: Mordy Gottlieb ( https://thegamechangergroup.com/ ) For years, I lived by the belief that strength meant control, never showing weakness, never slowing down, never letting anyone see behind the mask. On the outside, I looked like I had it all together. But underneath, I carried a deep sense of shame and disconnection that quietly shaped everything in my life. That experience became the foundation for my work. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, and Behavioral Expert, I help men face the parts of themselves they’ve spent years avoiding the pain, perfectionism, and pressure to perform and guide them toward authenticity, vulnerability, and freedom. My approach is experiential and action-based, using psychodrama and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to help people move beyond understanding and into real transformation. I’m passionate about creating honest, human conversations that challenge the old definition of masculinity and show that strength isn’t about control, it’s about connection. I love podcast spaces that dig deeper conversations that explore healing, emotional awareness, and how we rebuild our relationship with ourselves. I don’t just talk about mental health; I talk about what it feels like to be human and how we can learn to meet that with compassion and courage. 16. Skills Neurodivergent People Were Never Taught: Emotional Mastery with Dr. Jenny Hale

KEY TAKEAWAYS: Hear how to “turn down the volume” on emotions so you can finally access what you feel—without getting overwhelmed. Learn why burnout can be the hidden “default” for neurodivergent people—and how to spot your warning signs before the shutdown. Discover a simple practice that can rebuild emotional awareness even if you “feel nothing” (and why it can take weeks to click). Get a new lens on neurodivergence: what changes when the environment fits the brain—sometimes enough that symptoms disappear. Understand how altered states (sleep, relaxation, meditation) can help “repattern” your nervous system for daily life. Walk away with a core reframe: “too much / not enough” are feelings, not facts—and skills can change your baseline. Today's Guest: Dr. Jenny Hale ( www.JennyHale.org ) Dr Jenny Hale, creator of the Hale Method®, has an Honours degree in Psychology, a Doctorate in Education, and decades of experience as a coach, trainer and mentor. Dr Jenny supports people in getting the results they really want – in business and communities, as well as family and romantic relationships. She has identified the fastest ways to break through disempowering lifelong patterns and achieve previously unimaginable results – without doing years of therapy!  And the Hale Method works best for people who don’t quite fit with “business as usual” methods – highly intelligent people, highly sensitive people, driven entrepreneurs, neurodivergent folk, people who had difficult childhoods or who currently live with emotionally demanding people, and people navigating chronic fatigue, perimenopause, autoimmune disorders, and other long term health conditions. 13. Misdiagnosed Bipolar, Overmedicated, Autistic: A Long Road to Self-Understanding (Amy Hyde)

Key Takeaways What misdiagnosis and over-medication can cost Why self-kindness is foundational How sensory overload masquerades as “mental illness” The hidden trauma of masking and trying to fit in Why listening to the body changes everything An unexpected role spirituality can play in healing Today's Guest: Amy Hyde ( www.strawhat.org.uk ) I am a neurodivergent coach with an interest in mental well-being, having worked in a mental health crisis centre for many years. I am accredited with the EMCC and hold senior practitioner status. I have worked neurodivergent individuals across the globe in multiple work sectors. My original training is in career coaching but my experience has shown that this overlaps hugely with mental wellbeing and so have focused much of my subsequent training to this area and am currently training in trauma informed somatic modalities to help calm the nervous system and ease trauma responses (so watch this space!). I’m also trained in bibliotherapy and using books and stories to help unearth the path ahead. I am an authentic coach who has a gentle and curious style of coaching and has a passion for accessibility. Enjoying helping others to fully understand themselves, and making previously invisible barriers to success, both visible and surmountable. Thus giving clients the confidence to unmask and live more authentically. Not to mention to feel comfortable with taking the accommodations they are entitled to work on a level playing field, reducing the risk of burnout. I adapt my coaching in a way that suits my clients and their individual needs and love to incorporate assistive technologies into my practice. This may be something as simple as autogenerated subtitles to digital flashcards to a white noise machine to improve engagement and focus. In my practice I draws on tools, aids, techniques and approaches from a range of coaching methodologies and adapting them to suit the client’s individual needs, often creating bespoke resources, in order to maximise value to the client and create lasting change.
