Send us Fan Mail Jesus Christ is Lord over all! But here’s a question worth asking: Is He truly Lord over every area of your life? It’s one thing to say Jesus is Lord. It’s another thing to allow His lordship to shape our decisions, attitudes, relationships, and everyday choices. In this episode of Jesus in Your Weekend, Steve McLane explores what Scripture teaches about the lordship of Jesus Christ and what it means to genuinely follow Him. Through Philippians 2:9–11, Colossians 1:15–18, Luke 6:46, and Luke 9:23, we’ll consider the difference between acknowledging Jesus with our words and honoring Him with our lives. In this episode, we’ll reflect on: Why Jesus Christ is Lord whether the world acknowledges Him or not. What it means to give Jesus first place in our lives. Why genuine faith calls us to obedience and surrender. How God’s grace helps us grow as followers of Christ.Your Weekend Challenge: Take a few quiet moments and ask yourself, “Is there an area of my life where I’m calling Jesus Lord… but not following what His Word teaches?” Then take one faithful step of obedience. Jesus - You Don't Have to Know What Tomorrow Holds

Send us Fan Mail Have you ever found yourself worrying about something that hasn’t even happened yet? Maybe it’s a health concern, a family situation, a financial challenge, an important decision, or simply wondering what tomorrow might bring. We all face moments when the future seems uncertain. We make plans, look for answers, and sometimes allow tomorrow’s worries to steal today’s peace. But here’s a wonderful reminder: You don’t have to know what tomorrow holds when you know the One who holds tomorrow. In this episode of The Jesus Effect, Steve McLane shares an encouraging, Scripture-centered message about trusting God when we don’t have all the answers. Drawing from Proverbs 3:5–6, Matthew 6:25–34, Deuteronomy 31:8, Hebrews 13:8, and Philippians 4:6–7, we’ll explore: Why God calls us to trust Him rather than depend on our own understanding. How worrying about tomorrow can rob us of today’s peace. The assurance that Jesus will never leave or forsake those who belong to Him.Why our confidence should rest in Jesus Christ, who never changes. How turning our worries into prayers can help us face uncertainty with faith.Life doesn’t always go according to plan. We may face unexpected challenges, difficult decisions, and situations we don’t understand. But faith doesn’t mean we know what tomorrow will bring. Faith means we trust the One who will walk with us through it. Whatever you’re facing today, remember that Jesus is faithful. His love does not change, His promises will not fail, and you never have to walk through tomorrow without Him. Take a few moments to listen, be encouraged, and share this episode with someone who may be carrying concerns about the days ahead. The Jesus Effect — Encounter Him. Experience Change. Jesus In Your Weekend - Are You Too Busy to Hear Him?

Send us Fan Mail Have you ever reached the end of a busy day and realized you hardly spent any time with Jesus? Between work, family, responsibilities, phone calls, and even serving in the church, life can become so busy that we unintentionally neglect what matters most—our relationship with Him. Sometimes the greatest distraction from spending time with Jesus isn’t something bad… it’s all the good things we’re trying to do. In this week’s Jesus in Your Weekend, Steve McLane shares an encouraging message from Luke 10:38–42 and the story of Mary and Martha. Martha was busy serving, while Mary chose to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to His Word. Both serving and spending time with Jesus matter, but this familiar story reminds us that our activities should never replace our relationship with Him. In this episode, we’ll explore: Why being busy doesn’t always mean we’re growing spiritually. How even good responsibilities can distract us from spending time with Jesus. The importance of slowing down, opening God’s Word, and spending time in prayer. How our service to others should flow out of our relationship with Christ.Simple ways to make Jesus a priority in our everyday lives.Your Weekend Challenge: Set aside 10–15 minutes this weekend to step away from distractions. Open your Bible, read Luke 10:38–42, spend time in prayer, and simply focus on Jesus. Remember, spending time with Jesus isn’t about checking another item off your to-do list. It’s about growing closer to the One who loves you and gave His life for you. Don’t become so busy doing things for Jesus that you forget to spend time with Jesus. 3 Minutes with Jesus - The Blessings We Overlook (Episode 2)

Send us Fan Mail Have you ever received a blessing and didn’t recognize it until much later? Sometimes we’re so focused on what we’re praying for, what we’re waiting for, or what’s missing in our lives that we overlook the blessings God has already placed right in front of us. Welcome back to 3 Minutes with Jesus, a midweek devotional from The Jesus Effect, designed to help you pause, reflect on God’s Word, and refocus your heart on Jesus. In this episode, “The Blessings We Overlook,” we turn to James 1:17, which reminds us: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights…” God’s blessings aren’t always found in the extraordinary moments. Sometimes they’re found in a kind word, a thoughtful friend, an unexpected opportunity, or the quiet assurance that Jesus is walking with us. A blessing doesn’t have to be extraordinary to be meaningful. Here’s your midweek challenge: Look for one blessing today that you might normally overlook. Take a moment to thank God for it, and if that blessing involves another person, let them know how much you appreciate them. Sometimes God’s greatest gifts are the ones we’ve grown so accustomed to that we forget to recognize them. Three minutes. One Scripture. A little midweek encouragement to keep your eyes on Jesus. Jesus - The Most Beautiful Colors

Send us Fan Mail Have you ever stopped to imagine what heaven must look like? The brilliant colors of a sunrise, the beauty of the mountains, the changing leaves of fall, and the breathtaking wonders of creation all remind us of the greatness of our Creator. But if God has made this world so beautiful, can we even begin to imagine what He has prepared for those who love Him? In this episode of The Jesus Effect, Steve McLane shares a personal reflection inspired by attending the for KING + COUNTRY — The Most Beautiful Colours Tour, where the group shared the thought that heaven must have the most beautiful colors. That simple idea leads us into a powerful look at what Scripture reveals about heaven, the new heaven and new earth, and the eternal hope we have through Jesus Christ. Drawing from Revelation 21 and John 14:1–3, we’ll explore the beauty of God’s creation, Jesus’ promise to prepare a place for His followers, and the wonderful day when God will wipe away every tear and there will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain. But here’s the most important reminder: As beautiful as heaven will be, the greatest thing about heaven won’t be what we see. It will be Who we see — Jesus Christ. This episode also challenges us to live each day with eternity in mind, appreciate the beauty God has placed around us, and share the hope of the Gospel with others. Whatever challenges you’re facing today, remember that for those who belong to Christ, our present struggles are not our eternal future. The most beautiful colors are yet to come. And the greatest beauty of all will be spending eternity in the presence of Jesus. Listen today, be encouraged by God’s promises, and share this episode with someone who needs a reminder of the hope we have in Christ.
