Off the Cuff & Over the Cliff: Diaries of a Black Female Exec

Maya D. of YBFIC

These are the stories of Black Femmes in Charge you'd typical hear only when the mic is off, most people have left the function, and the fourth bottle of wine is empty. Off the Cuff and Over the Cliff: Diaries of a Black Female Exec is the unfiltered soundscape of what it really takes to lead as a YBF in charge. Hosted by Maya D. of YBFIC, the advice you'll hear on this pod is not the type you'd get during your company’s Black History Month panel or find in an MBA case study. These are the war stories behind the job titles. The caution signs behind the congratulations. The truth behind the torch that's being passed down from one YBFIC to another. Sometimes it’s anonymous. Sometimes we’ll have a guest. Sometimes it'll just be Maya and the mic. But every time, it'll be uncensored, unscripted, and unapologetic—truly off the cuff. Take a breath. Take a seat. And let’s take charge—of our community, of our careers, of our stories, and, most important, of the legacies we want to leave behind.

🎧 Trailer: What Is Off the Cuff & Over the Cliff? Hey, It's Maya D. of YBFIC, and, welcome to Off the Cuff & Over the Cliff, the audio diary series documenting what it really means to be a Black Femme In Charge. No filters. No respectability politics. Just truth. In this trailer, you’ll hear what this series is about, why it exists, and what’s coming next. This is for the Black Femmes In Charge who are contemplating quiet quitting when the Golden Cuffs are no longer enough. Who are in their life-long recovery from workplace PTSD and for the Young Black Femmes in Charge, who want to know the true cost of being a Black Boss- without the boss babe, soft life aesthetic propaganda.  You won't find highlight reels here, but, you won't find trauma dumping and perpetual-victim-syndrome either. Off the Cuff & Over the Cliff: Diaries of a Black Female Exec share the good, the great, the bad, and the barely hanging on-- the power moves and panic attacks. Some submissions will be anonymous. Sometimes I’ll have a guest. Sometimes it’ll just be me and the mic. 🖤 These are our stories. 🗣️ Told how we want to tell them. ✊🏾 For us. By us. And for anyone who needs the mirror.   Want to share your story?  Send your audio, voice note, or written submission to ybficstaff@gmail.com with the subject line: “OFF&OVER SUB” You can be anonymous or named.
