    Religion Wasn’t Enough | Chad Thompson’s Journey to True Surrender

    What happens when someone who has been around Christianity their entire life begins questioning whether any of it is actually real? Today on All Things New Podcast, Scott Walters and Aubrey Pridgen sit down with Chad Thompson of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, to hear a testimony that challenges the difference between simply being around Christianity and completely surrendering your life to Christ. Chad graduated from East Rankin and Mississippi State University and has spent more than 20 years working in sales and the building-materials industry. Christianity had been part of his world for most of his life—but about ten years ago, Chad began seriously questioning what he believed. He reached a point where religion seemed like it might simply be a waste of time. Instead of walking away, Chad started digging deeper. As he examined the faith he had grown up around, he became increasingly convicted about the truth of Jesus Christ—and eventually came face-to-face with a difficult realization: although he had known about Christ for years, he had never completely surrendered to Him. That realization changed everything. On July 4, 2021, Chad made a public declaration of that surrender when Scott Walters baptized him. Chad says that since that day, he has approached church, faith, discipleship, and his relationship with Christ completely differently. He is now an active member of his church community and involved with Men’s Alliance, where Christian men challenge one another toward stronger faith, leadership, accountability, and discipleship.     From Prisoner to Prison Ministry | Jerry Vardaman’s Story of Redemption

    Jerry Vardaman knows what it means to walk through prison doors from both sides. Growing up in the Mississippi Delta, Jerry shared a close bond with his younger brother, Mark, and spent much of his formative years with his grandfather—a man who taught him about family, faith, and what it meant to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. But after the death of his grandfather, Jerry walked away from Christ. What followed was a downward spiral that eventually led him behind bars. It was there, while losing his physical freedom, that Jerry discovered something far greater: spiritual freedom through Jesus Christ. Today, Jerry’s story has come full circle. The man who once entered prison as an inmate now walks back through prison doors with a completely different purpose—ministering to others and working in an environment that takes him inside the prison system on a daily basis.
