Disco: The Podcast

Disco Podcast - No-nonsense Spirituality & Modern-day Healing

Disco is a modern, exploratory podcast dedicated to helping listeners discover the evolving landscape of human consciousness, spirituality, and energetic connectedness. Each episode features authentic conversations with healers, coaches, alternative practitioners and journeyers in this space. Our mission is to demystify the frontiers of modern spiritual care, making it approachable for those seeking an entry point. You can expect a light-hearted, appropriately playful vibe that doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not. While we like to come in with a casual energy, our genuine curiosity and passion for spiritual growth fuel what we hope are meaningful, resonating and deep discussions. Who are we? We are Zach and Michelle Lamb from Minneapolis, MN and we’ve been married for five years. We have a spunky, sassy two year old little boy named Murphy, and we just welcomed our newest family member, Nova to the crew. We both came into our relationship with individual but separate interests in energetic connectedness and spirituality. Since meeting, we’ve continued to evolve our ideas together, which in the beginning of our relationship was usually over a few whiskies and a couple cigarettes. As time went on we realized, “hey, we really like all this stuff, let’s take it more seriously,” and it has truly become what feels like a calling for both of us.  We aren’t shamanic healers (although we have been told in a reading that in past lives we were – we’ll take it), we don’t have any crazy accolades and we consider ourselves to be pretty ordinary. But this “stuff” is for the “ordinary” too, because as it turns out, what seems “ordinary” is all pretty magical and we want to make that magic accessible and approachable for anyone.

Unlocking Trauma with Brainspotting w/ Mari Javed-Payne

Send us Fan Mail Summary Mari is a somatic psychotherapist, trauma therapist, international brainspotting trainer, shamanic practitioner, and one of the most genuinely layered humans we've had on this show. Her story moves through immigration, addiction, homelessness, eight trips to rehab, a psychic awakening that looked nothing like the wellness industry version — and eventually, a single brainspotting session that changed the entire trajectory of her life and work. In this conversation we get into all of it. What brainspotting actually is, why it works when talk therapy doesn't, and what's really happening in your brain and body when you find a spot. What it means to carry your ancestors' unfinished business in your nervous system right now. Why most of Western therapy has it backwards. And what she's learned from decades of sitting with people in their absolute darkest places (including her own). We also go somewhere most wellness conversations don't — into the shadow, the unseen, and what it actually looks like to work with energies that aren't exactly warm and fuzzy. This one is dense, rich, and genuinely unlike anything we've recorded. Come curious. Key Topics The science behind brain spotting and the orienting reflexMari's personal journey through trauma, addiction, and spiritual awakeningThe spiritual and energetic aspects of brain spotting and energy workHow brain spotting helps access and process stored trauma in the bodyThe role of intuition, spirit guides, and energy in trauma healingThe importance of sovereignty and boundaries in spiritual and energetic workMari's work with dark energies, demons, and spirit guidesThe intersection of neuroscience, spirituality, and energy healingPractical insights into conducting a brain spotting sessionThe significance of ancestral and lineage healing in trauma recovery Brain spotting as a direct access to the limbic systemThe role of eye movements in emotional and trauma healingThe connection between subconscious, body, and healing capacityThe impact of ancestral trauma and epigeneticsThe limitations of traditional talk therapy and the power of somatic approaches
