    That's... Your Questions

Welcome to That's Entertainment with No, Not Them!  I'm Chris Brown, and he’s Michael Nichols and thanks so much for joining us. Now, if you've been watching or listening over the past few months, you'll know we've been asking you to send us your questions.  Well... you certainly took that invitation seriously!  We've had questions about the show, about entertainment, about Mike and me, and a few that left us wondering what on earth was going through your minds when you wrote them! Unfortunately, we won't be able to answer every single question today.  If we did, this would turn into a six-hour special, and I don't think either of us packed enough snacks for that.  So instead, we've picked out some of our favourites and, over the next hour, we'll do our very best to answer as many as we can. A huge thank you to everyone who sent something in. Whether your question is featured today or not, we really appreciate you taking the time to get involved. It means a lot to us, and it helps make shows like this possible. Now then...------ Follow Us On Social Media:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/crossborderpodcast/ Threads: https://www.threads.net/@crossborderpodcast  Blusky: https://bsky.app/profile/crossbordernetwork.bsky.social Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CrossBorderInterviews/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/crossborderinterviews/  Website: https://www.crossborderinterviews.ca/ Thats Entertinament is Part of the Cross Border Network © 2026

    That's... Northern Tails TV

Picture it: a tiny television station in the middle of the boreal forest. The coffee’s cold, the wires are chewed through, and somebody — and I’m not naming names, Trevor — has once again mistaken the weather satellite for a snack dispenser. And yet… somehow… they are on the air.Today on That’s Entertainment, we head north to meet the wildly inventive world of Northern Tails — the Yukon-made puppet series where climate science, sketch comedy, retro television chaos and very determined ground squirrels all collide in the best possible way. After a breakout first season, station producer Scout Perry and her furry crew are back for season two, bringing more laughs, more woodland mayhem and a surprisingly heartfelt look at how animals, ecosystems and people are adapting to a changing climate. Think The Muppets meets public broadcasting after a snowstorm… with a little SCTV energy tossed in for good measure. But beneath the fuzzy faces and hilarious antics is something deeply rooted in the North: stories about neighbours — human, animal and environmental — all trying to figure out how to live together in a rapidly changing world. And the production itself is just as remarkable as what’s on screen. Built by a team of Yukon creators, puppeteers, writers and filmmakers, Northern Tails is proving that northern stories can be homegrown, sustainable and shared far beyond the tree line.So today, we’re digging into the magic behind the mayhem with creator and showrunner Kelly Milner, along with puppeteer Jenny Hamilton, to find out how this charmingly chaotic series became one of the most original new edutainment shows in the Yukon, and dare I say across Canada.Stay tuned — and if you hear rustling in the studio walls… don’t panic. It probably just means the crew is rehearsing.----Learn More About Northern Tails: Website: https://www.northerntailstv.com/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/northerntailstv/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NorthernTailsTVWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@NorthernTailsTV----Listen To The Show: Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5FfacgRiVKxBEad96VqftxApple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/thats-entertainment-with/id1825674506Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/crossborderinterviewswithchrisbrown----Follow Us On Social Media: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/crossborderpodcast/Threads: https://www.threads.net/@crossborderpodcast Blusky: https://bsky.app/profile/crossbordernetwork.bsky.socialFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/CrossBorderInterviews/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/crossborderinterviews/ Website: https://www.crossborderinterviews.ca/Thats Entertainment... is Part of the Cross Border Network© 2026

    Thats... Capitalism

Welcome to another edition of “That’s Entertainment, with No… Not Them.”I’m Chris Brown — no, not that Chris Brown — although every time I introduce myself, at least one person instinctively hides their phone. And with me as always, is Mike Nichols — not the acclaimed director of The Graduate, The Birdcage, or Working Girl. This Mike Nichols once yelled ‘action’ during a family barbecue, and nobody listened.Elon Musk is attacking Christopher Nolan over the casting choices for The Odyssey. Which is interesting, because Elon looked at a three-hour mythological epic and thought, “You know what this needs? More tweets.”Then we’ll ask: do celebrity biographies put rose-coloured glasses on controversial stars? Or are publishers just hoping readers confuse “deeply flawed” with “misunderstood genius”?Then, following in the footsteps of Clint Eastwood, Sonny Bono, Al Franken, Will Rogers, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jerry Springer, Tina Keeper, and Lenore Zann, the Hollywood Hills may be on the brink — as of recording this — of electing a former reality star as Mayor of Los Angeles.Because apparently Americans looked at politics and said, “You know what this needs? More confessionals and immunity challenges.”Then, in Toronto, hometown superstar Drake pulled off a massive publicity stunt by “freezing” the CN Tower to promote his new album Iceman.Though in fairness, Canadians saw a frozen tower and just assumed someone forgot to pay the heating bill again.Stick around — we’ll be right back.***************************************************Follow Us On Social Media: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/crossborderpodcast/Threads: https://www.threads.net/@crossborderpodcast Blusky: https://bsky.app/profile/crossbordernetwork.bsky.socialFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/CrossBorderInterviews/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/crossborderinterviews/ Website: https://www.crossborderinterviews.ca/Thats Entertinament is Part of the Cross Border Network© 2026

Thats... Brandon McInnis, Trina Nishimua, and J. Michael Tatum

Welcome to That’s Entertainment! Last week, the worlds of superheroes, hobbits, gamers, Marvel Superheros, Anime and wizards didn’t just collide on screen—they took over the streets of Calgary.  It was time once again for the annual Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo, or CALGARYEXPO where fans gathered for four unforgettable days celebrating everything from comics and movies to gaming and anime. Inside the BMO Centre, the energy was electric.  Hundreds of vendors, celebrity meet-and-greets, and live events brought pop culture to life.  From the epic fantasy of The Lord of the Rings to the swashbuckling charm of The Princess Bride, and the sci-fi legacy of Star Trek, fans celebrated the stories—and stars—that defined generations. But Expo wasn’t just about costumes and collectibles—it was about connection.  Today, we release our interviews with Voice Actors, Brandon McInnis, Trina Nishimua, and J.Michael Tatum ----- Listen To The Show:  Apple: https://apple.co/3XwwXIv Spotify: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/cross-border-interviews Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/crossborderinterviewswithchrisbrown ---- Follow Us On Social Media:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/crossborderpodcast/ Threads: https://www.threads.net/@crossborderpodcast  Blusky: https://bsky.app/profile/crossbordernetwork.bsky.social Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CrossBorderInterviews/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/crossborderinterviews/  Website: https://www.crossborderinterviews.ca/ Thats Entertainment... is Part of the Cross Border Network © 2026

    That's... Reality TV

Welcome to That’s Entertainment with No, Not Them — today we’re talking reality TV… the only genre where ruining your life can lead to a spin-off. Reality TV has given us so much. Survivor taught us you can betray your closest ally for a million dollars. The Bachelor taught us you can get engaged after three helicopter rides. And Big Brother taught us… never trust anyone who says, “I’m just being honest.” The highs? Reality TV made ordinary people famous. The lows? Some of those people are still famous. Then there’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians — a show that somehow turned “let’s film lunch” into a media empire. That’s not reality TV, that’s witchcraft. And I love competition shows. On Hell’s Kitchen, Gordon Ramsay can call someone an idiot between appetizers. On The Real Housewives, someone can flip a table before dessert. And on Love Is Blind, people get engaged through a wall — which, to be fair, is still better communication than most couples. And every reality show has the same lie: “This is not why I came here.” Really? Because nobody goes on The Bachelor for the quiet reflection. Reality TV has taught us three things: Never form an alliance on Survivor. Never go to dinner on Real Housewives. And if someone on Big Brother says, “Can we talk?” …you’re already evicted. Today Myself my incredible co-host Mike Nichols — no not that one — celebrate the highs, the lows, and the beautiful fact that somewhere right now, someone is crying on Love Island because Chad kissed Madison during a challenge involving whipped cream. And somehow… that’s entertainment.----- Listen To The Show:  Apple: https://apple.co/3XwwXIv Spotify: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/cross-border-interviews Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/crossborderinterviewswithchrisbrown ---- Follow Us On Social Media:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/crossborderpodcast/ Threads: https://www.threads.net/@crossborderpodcast  Blusky: https://bsky.app/profile/crossbordernetwork.bsky.social Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CrossBorderInterviews/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/company/crossborderinterviews/  Website: https://www.crossborderinterviews.ca/ Thats Entertainment... is Part of the Cross Border Network © 2026

    That's... Ken Whiteley

Welcome to That’s Entertainment!  Today, we have a very special guest whose music has been shaping the Canadian roots scene for over six decades.  He’s a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and a true legend of folk and blues – a man who has shared stages with the likes of Pete Seeger, John Hammond Jr., and Stan Rogers, and whose songs have been covered by dozens of artists.  Yes, you know him – the one and only Ken Whiteley! We’re celebrating a remarkable milestone: Ken has just released his 37th album, Keep Going, a record that is at once deeply personal, profoundly moving, and utterly timeless.  Inspired by an ankle injury earlier this year, Ken spent a month confined to his home, picking up his guitar and letting the music flow.  The result is an album steeped in blues and gospel traditions, drawing from the oldest wells of folk to speak directly to the world we live in today. From the opening track, ‘Everybody’s Got to Be Tried,’ played on a 1928 National guitar, to the mandolin-quartet arrangement of the 1929 jug classic ‘Going to German,’ Keep Going connects the music of the past with the urgent voices of the present. And in tracks like ‘Reaching Higher,’ featuring the late Betty Richardson, and ‘At the End of the Day,’ a soulful meditation on transition and reflection, Ken reminds us all of the power of determination, resilience, and listening for something beyond the noise of everyday life. So today we’ll hear about the stories behind these songs, the journey of creating music that bridges generations, and maybe even a few laughs along the way – because if there’s one thing you can always count on with Ken Whiteley, it’s wisdom, warmth, and a little bit of wit.
