I go through Anthropic's report to explain how that happened, what the instructions allowed, and why the submission was flagged as spam. The test involved completing tasks on real websites. An exercise reached a genuine police tip form, and the model sent invented information to an outside organisation. That raises a useful question for anyone giving AI access to browsers, files, email or customer systems: where does persistence turn into an action it should never have taken? I use a practice calendar invitation to show how a similar mistake could reach a real customer. Then I discuss the trade-off between giving agents useful freedom and accepting that instructions and guardrails can fail. I show OpenAI's Intelligent UI announcement and try three examples: understanding a rhythm I heard at an apple festival in Cyprus, working out the economics of a small workshop, and planning dinner for eight people with one oven. The rhythm example gives me a visual way to follow an unfamiliar time signature. The workshop calculator lets me change ticket prices, attendance and costs while seeing the result. The dinner planner updates portions and a cooking schedule as I change the guest count or serving time. I also show an interactive explanation of how a large language model works, and how to ask for these controls directly in a chat you've already started. The policy takes effect on November 12, 2026, and Anthropic says it targets rare, extreme cases. Ordinary frustration, pushback, creative work and model testing are excluded. I read the policy, look at Anthropic's earlier research on letting Claude end conversations, and ask what the word cruelty does to the relationship between a customer and an AI assistant. People already get attached to these systems. Giving an assistant the language of suffering changes how people think about the software they use. There is also a practical question: what happens when you're frustrated because Claude has broken your code or wasted hours of your time? I want a useful assistant I can correct and work with.
