Get Personal

Becoming Devorah

Get Personal is a space for the brave. Even if it is just temporary bravery. Not because we have the answers but because we’re finally ready to ask better questions. It began with one desperate question: What do I need to hear -and who do I need to hear it from- so I’d finally believe it? And first, do I even know what I have to hear to feel fully happy and fulfilled? This is a dream to build a show about peeling back the stories, facing what’s real, and finding the power that’s been there all along.

    Episode 33. Relentless Little Rascal

There's a funny old Mexican song with spicy lyrics that go something like, "Some have it long, some have it short... and women love it." After a few cheeky verses, you find out the song is just about... mustaches. It's funny, and also not-so-funny, because that’s exactly what our inner opponent is like—that relentless little rascal in our heads. We build it up to be this big, scary, complicated monster, but sometimes it’s just a silly, persistent thought that we give way too much power to. This week, I get personal with my own rascal. I talk about that embarrassing, vulnerable feeling of putting yourself out there—recording videos when you don't like how you look—all while that voice, whether it feels like a monster or just a mustache, whispers, "You're awful." So what do you do with this character? This episode explores a different strategy: facing that voice, getting curious about it, and even starting a conversation with it to learn its tricks. This internal work is how we finally get the upper hand and write our own "happy ending," which is the theme of this week's chapter reading. We now have the knowledge to stop letting this rascal dictate our lives. As the chapter says, "No more excuses. Forever starts now." This is an episode about learning to spot that relentless little rascal—no matter what shape or size it takes—so you can finally start to lead the dance. Episode 31: Gibberish?

We all know that feeling when inspiration is nowhere to be found, and the only voice in your head is that opponent—the one I affectionately call a "jackass"—telling you to just give up. This episode starts with that raw, daily struggle for consistency and the fight to just show up. But what if there was a secret weapon against that inner voice? A language it literally can't understand? A direct, unfiltered broadband connection to the Light? This week's chapter reveals what might sound like total gibberish at first: the power of the ancient Aramaic language. We dive into the idea that this language is a spiritual technology that the opponent cannot interfere with, and how it once served as a universal thread connecting different faiths. At the heart of this "gibberish" is the ultimate weapon: a sequence of Aramaic letters known as the 72 Names of God. We explore how these aren't magic tricks, but powerful tools to help you activate the positive attributes you already have and finally get the upper hand on your ego. And if ancient letters feel like too big of a leap for today, the episode ends with one simple, practical tool that is guaranteed to change your reality: Stop speaking negatively for one week. This is an episode about finding the tools—both mystical and practical—to win the inner game against the opponent that tries to keep us stuck. Episode 30: In Your Shoes

How often do we truly try to walk in someone else's shoes? Not just to see their point of view, but to understand the world from where they stand? This question has been on my mind, especially as someone who works in marketing where "validation"—understanding the customer's perspective—is everything. But where is the balance between seeking that perspective and trusting my own path? This challenge of perspective is at the very heart of this week's chapter, which suggests that when it comes to our spiritual and religious paths, maybe we've all gotten it wrong. We’ve been so focused on what separates our traditions that we've missed the shared, inner work they were designed to accomplish. This episode is a call to add consciousness to our own beliefs. It explores: How ancient rituals, often seen as acts of external praise, were actually designed as powerful tools for a personal, internal battle against our own ego. A new perspective on the stories of great masters and saviors—that their sacrifices weren't meant to do the work for us, but to clear a path for us to walk ourselves. The idea of a universal "spiritual warrior"—not someone who belongs to one group, but any soul who can look at another path and see the same, single enemy being fought: the one within. This is a powerful invitation to stop focusing on the differences between our beliefs. The moment we start aligning with our own inner work, we realize the real journey was never about each other, but about ourselves. And when you can see the world this way, the need for external validation fades, because you're finally standing firmly and confidently in your own shoes. Episode 28: The Dream Equation

I LOVE words, and even more in the form of a song. There is this amazing song, and I've always been fascinated by the first three words of it. By the idea of those first 3 words. Translated into English, it goes like this: we each have "a place, a talent, and the freedom". I don't know how to explain, but since a VERY young age, I absolutely believe in this. Then came Kabbalah, and suddenly it was like I got to experience these words and the idea behind them, in an even deeper way. Now, what if our "place", "talent", and even freedom aren't a test, but an inheritance? A set of tools and blessings given to us to support us on our journey. And to go deeper, what if the correlation isn't just in an ability or skill do something (lit. definition of talent) but in our dreams? What if your wildest, most expansive dream isn't just a random fantasy, but actually your way, your ticket into claiming what is rightfully yours? We feel less "accountable" for our dreams because it's more of a cherry on top than an obligation. But what if the moment you give up on that dream, you forfeit everything? Not just your rightful blessings, but the wisdom needed to achieve everything. Holding onto a dream like that requires a deep sense of inner peace, which leads us to today's chapter. The test is: Can you keep the peace with the Opponent breathing down your neck? Resources Mentioned in This Episode: Episode Inspiration: The song "Vuelos (Flights)" by Fernando Delgadillo. Episode 27: Friends with a King

I’ve been thinking a lot about a simple but profound idea I heard today: in every moment, with every action, we are either a builder or a destroyer. There's no neutral ground. And in a BIG way. We might think that our actions are insignificant; we might not be building, but we are not destroying at scale! Well, think again. Our small actions ripple out into the world leads us into one of the most intense chapters of the book yet. The test this time is: Are you willing to go all the way? This isn't about giving up, but about total surrender. It's about shifting from a "victim consciousness" (Why is this happening to me?) to a "servant consciousness" (What am I meant to do here?). It's a path that takes you beyond just surrender and toward becoming like the Creator—seeing opportunity in everything, loving without attachment, and knowing that every mistake is fixable. A personal note: I truly feel that my readings, with my "broken English," can't do full justice to the depth of this book. The stories and the wisdom are so powerful.
