Now The Kids Are In Bed

Matt Pook

Now the Kids Are in Bed is what happens when two Brighton-based DJs, promoters, and producers finally get a moment to breathe… and overshare. Married with three kids and a chaotic life full of loud thoughts, smashed lamps, and half-eaten carrots, this is the unfiltered conversation that kicks off once the house goes quiet. Join us each week as we talk parenting, ADHD, relationships, music, and all the weird bits in between — from rants about the school run to how we got into dance music in the first place. No experts, no script, just real talk (and the occasional swear)

EP 5 - Now The Kids Are In Bed with POoK & Lola

Now The Kids Are In Bed – Episode Description Make sure to like, follow, and subscribe to Now The Kids Are In Bed on whatever platform you’re listening on — and if you’ve got a question, story, or just want to get in touch, drop us a comment on Spotify or email us at nowthekidsareinbed@gmail.com. In this week’s episode, Pook and Lola dive into listener emails about some very relatable ADHD moments (including a shopping trip that went a bit “magpie mode” 🛒✨), plus we chat about: Little cowboy spotted outside Sainsbury’s 🤠 Doppelgängers (and whether we really do have one wandering about) What we’ve been up to over the weekend The gigs coming up, including SIZE. at The Volks this weekend Why flights are such a rip-off these days ✈️ And loads more random chaos in between 💡 ADHD diagnosis in the UK: If you’re wondering whether you might have ADHD and want to explore diagnosis, the most effective route we’ve found is through the NHS “Right to Choose” pathway. This lets you choose your own provider for ADHD assessments and can be much quicker than waiting for a local referral. 👉 More info here: Right to Choose ADHD UK Guide 🌍 Links we mentioned in the episode: Halcyon Dayz 2025 in Cyprus (event page): Halcyon Dayz Event Twin Strangers (find your doppelgänger): https://twinstrangers.net It’s definitely not a parenting podcast — this is all the stuff we finally get to talk about once the kids are in bed.

EP 2 - Now The Kids Are In Bed with POoK & Lola

Episode 2 – TikTok Chaos, ADHD Buttons & Buffet Crimes We’re back with episode two of Now the Kids Are in Bed – still very new to this whole podcasting thing, and it shows. For reasons we can’t fully explain, we attempted to go live on TikTok… which ended in a chaotic split-screen with two young Indian lads who were definitely not expecting to chat to a pair of tired parents. Safe to say, that didn’t last long. This week we chat about what we’ve got coming up over the weekend, and dive into some of your messages. One listener asked: If you could press a button to switch off your ADHD, would you? That sparked a big chat about identity, personality, and whether treatment is worth it if it means losing a bit of what makes you you – even if it does help quiet the chaos. We also read some more listener emails, including one about irrational pet hates – which led us into a proper rant about buffet etiquette (you’d be surprised how deep that one goes). And there was a would-you-rather so grim we didn’t really want to touch it. Got something to say? We want to hear from you! Drop us an email at nowthekidsareinbed@gmail.com or leave a comment on our socials (we’ll tag them when we share the episode). If you’re enjoying the pod, give us a 5-star rating, leave a quick review, and share it with someone who might need a break from their own chaos. We’re just getting going, and every little bit helps!
