Ep. 10: Before Steph, Klay, & KD: The Warriors Trio That Built the Modern NBA

Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, and Chris Mullin were Golden State Warriors teammates for just two seasons. But Run TMC altered how the game was played and lived in the collective memory of fans ever since.  Tim Hardaway was a trash-talking point guard from Chicago who was best known for his killer crossover. Mitch Richmond was a former football player from Florida whom Michael Jordan called the toughest matchup of his career. Chris Mullin was a streetball legend from Brooklyn with one of the sweetest jumpers in NBA history and a spot on the original Dream Team. They came together under head coach Don Nelson to form Run TMC, the highest-scoring trio in the league and pioneers of the modern game.  In this episode of Posters, we look at how three players from different places and backgrounds converged in Oakland, how their fast-break offense connects Bill Russell’s Celtics to Steph Curry’s Warriors, and why their promising run was cut short after just two seasons.  Subscribe to Posters for long-form documentary essays on basketball history, media narrative, and NBA culture.    Check out the full video episode on YouTube:  https://youtu.be/Y0X0pOLi-mo Host, writer, executive producer: James Hamilton Executive producer, co-writer, GFX: Eric Parrie Producer: Ashish Yamdagni Theme song by Jon Lampley Filmed by Alexis Boling Edited by Footage Finesse   Additional music by: Oak Studios, "aspen" And:  LAKEY INSPIRED, "Blue Boi"

This episode explores the full legend of of Mutombo: the competitive fire that led to four Defensive Player of the Year awards, the life mission that began before he ever picked up a basketball, and the way he used his fame to eventually funded his home country's biggest hospital.
