EPISODE 13: WHAT IF We Made Space for Both the Clinical and the Spiritual? | Human Design, Community & Integrative Healing

Ca'ren is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Carolina who focuses on helping individuals and couples explore the most authentic & connected versions of themselves through various modalities blending my intuitive gifts, spiritual technologies and clinical expertise. She works from a soul-centered approach in which she focuses on cultivating an open space for metamorphosis and transformation to occur. Her approach is holistic and integrative, encouraging clients to get to know themselves in new ways, which allows them to fully embody all the parts that make us whole. Discovering Human Design in 2021 shed light on Ca'ren's unique energy as a Manifestor, guiding her towards self-awareness and understanding on a deeper level. Exploring her Human Design and Astrology charts in late 2022 was transformative, providing insight into her natural gifts and calling as an alchemist. By embracing her design, she unlocked innate abilities in clairsentience, clairvoyance, and claircognizance, and honed skills in various healing modalities. With consent, her sessions may integrate spiritual technologies and ancestral techniques like incorporating and discussing ancestral veneration, using oracle or tarot in sessions, or using human design or astrology to help clients better understand the patterns of their lives and relationships. Her passion for blending the realms of spirituality, psychology, and sexuality led her to her role as Secretary of the Intuitive Clinicians Council, a non-profit with a mission of legitimizing and restoring the use of Intuition and spiritual practices in mental health and clinical care.   For therapy appointments, head to committed-action.com/caren-hudson-lmft and for Human Design Download sessions and more, check out floweringheartwellness.com Your host is Jaclyn Tyson. Episode 9: What IF Filipino Psychology Changed How We Understand Ourselves?

In this What If conversation, we explore Filipino psychology — also known as Sikolohiyang Pilipino — and how it offers a different way of understanding the self, relationships, and healing. Together, we talk about key concepts within Filipino psychology and how they contrast with more individualistic, Western frameworks. This conversation opens up questions around identity, culture, and the ways our understanding of the self is shaped by the worlds we come from. Rather than seeing healing as something purely internal, Filipino psychology invites a more relational and culturally rooted perspective — one that considers community, shared experience, and connection. Whether you’re familiar with these ideas or hearing them for the first time, this episode offers space to reflect on how culture shapes the way we make sense of ourselves — and what it might mean to see the self differently. Jezreel Cornel graduated from San Diego State University's MS in Marriage and Family Therapy program with a focus on Narrative Therapy and received clinical training in the San Diego Unified Outpatient Program as a school-based therapist. Alongside his formal education, Jez studied Sikolohiyang Pilipino (Filipino Psychology) through conversation with established Filipino/a/x mental health professionals and reviewing existing literature. Jez is a community organizer through San Diego Kababayan, and supports Kasamahan’s Board of Directors with social media and resources.  You can find more information about him at:  https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists/jezreel-mejia-cornel-san-diego-ca/1721755 https://www.solpathwellness.com/solpathteam https://www.kasamahan.org/about-us Your host is Jaclyn Tyson. Episode 6: WHAT IF Therapy Made Space For Hmong Shamanic Practices?

Michi Marks (she/they) is a Hmong American Marriage and Family Therapist–in-training, integration and implementation coach, and spiritual practitioner whose work bridges Western psychotherapy with ancestral animist traditions. Their approach draws from liberation psychology, experiential therapies, and systems thinking, with a focus on relational, embodied, and contextual healing.  Michi identifies as neurodivergent, queer, genderfluid, and bicultural — identities that inform their commitment to liberatory and culturally rooted approaches to wellness. Michi is currently completing their MFT training and hopes to eventually apprentice formally within the Hmong shamanic tradition. Their work centers the belief that healing is not only individual but ancestral, communal, and relational. To learn more or stay connected, you can read Michi’s Substack, where they write about lineage, identity, and books that have shaped their thinking. If you’re interested in working with Michi clinically, you can reach out through Edges Wellness or Psychology Today.
