Speaking to the media on Thursday, November 5, Taylor stressed that maintaining normal preparations was the biggest priority after travelling across the Atlantic. He said the team had deliberately arrived early to allow players to adjust to the time difference, with food and scheduling particularly important. Taylor described Madrid as a beautiful city and encouraged Spanish fans to embrace the Bengals, wear their colours and get behind the team. He also praised the opportunity to help grow American football internationally, while acknowledging that his side still had room for improvement despite a positive run of results. The coach also highlighted the threat posed by Atlanta, particularly running back Bijan Robinson, quarterback Michael Penix Jr and receiver Drake London. Higgins marvelled at the Frenchman's speed and ability with a football. Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence was equally enthusiastic about the experience, although he had one major complaint: his hotel bed! "My bed is undefeated," he joked. Lawrence said players needed to balance enjoying the country with looking after their bodies, emphasising walking, hydration and recovery. He also recognised the importance of Sunday's game as an opportunity to introduce American football to new supporters. Center Ted Karras described the trip as an unbelievable experience. He was particularly delighted to discover he had been allocated the locker previously used by Spanish football sensation Lamine Yamal at the national team's training facility. Calling it a great honour, Karras congratulated Spain on its World Cup success and said the Bengals ultimately needed to win to make the trip worthwhile. Running back Chase Brown discussed the practical challenges of maintaining his recovery routine overseas. He explained that accessing saunas and cold tubs whenever he wanted was more difficult than at home, where he normally uses them in the mornings and after practice. But the question facing the front office is whether this roster is good enough to make a serious postseason run. The biggest name connected to Cincinnati is Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Bengals were among five teams that had checked on Taylor's availability. The Vikings, Giants, Broncos and Packers were also mentioned. Taylor would give Cincinnati another explosive weapon alongside Chase Brown, although Indianapolis reportedly has a significant asking price.  However, don't overlook the defensive side of the football. However, Zac Taylor has dismissed reports suggesting Cincinnati might trade the young pass rusher, calling that chatter made up.  Cincinnati shouldn't make a trade simply to make headlines. At 5-2, with Joe Burrow leading the offense, this is an opportunity worth taking seriously. A dependable linebacker or cornerback might provide more postseason value than another offensive weapon. The Bengals don't need a blockbuster. They need the right piece at the right price. The next six days could tell us plenty about how serious this organization is about making a championship run. Following Sunday's thrilling 43-36 overtime victory over the Tennessee Titans, head coach Zac Taylor provided updates on three defensive players who left the game with injuries. Howell had appeared in all seven games this season, recording one sack, three tackles for loss and five quarterback hits.  Meanwhile, defensive end Cedric Johnson is also day-to-day with an ankle injury. Like Turner, Johnson is expected to make the trip to Madrid, with his availability against Atlanta still uncertain.  Overall, Cincinnati will be monitoring Turner's heel and Johnson's ankle closely throughout the week. Howell's absence puts additional pressure on Shemar Stewart and the remaining defensive-line rotation. It was the kind of game that had everything: spectacular offensive performances, big defensive plays, momentum swings and a dramatic finish. The biggest star of the afternoon was quarterback Joe Burrow, who delivered one of the best performances of his career. Burrow completed 38 of 48 passes for 462 yards and five touchdown passes while adding another touchdown on the ground. He showed tremendous poise throughout the afternoon, continuing to make plays even when Tennessee's defense managed to create turnovers. His favorite targets were once again Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Chase finished with 11 receptions for 141 yards and a touchdown, while Higgins hauled in 10 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Having both receivers produce at that level makes Cincinnati's passing attack extremely difficult for opposing defenses to contain. The Titans certainly didn't make things easy. Quarterback Cam Ward threw for a career-high 304 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Tony Pollard rushed for 117 yards and two scores. Tennessee matched Cincinnati's offensive firepower for much of the afternoon, forcing the game into overtime tied at 36. Cincinnati's defense also deserves plenty of credit. Defensive end Boye Mafe forced a fumble with a strip-sack, allowing defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II to recover the ball and return it eight yards. Burrow connected with Higgins for a touchdown on the very next play. Lawrence and linebacker Demetrius Knight Jr. also teamed up for a crucial safety in the third quarter. Another memorable moment came from rookie tight end Jack Endries, who caught his first NFL pass for his first NFL touchdown just before halftime. With the game tied at 36, Cincinnati took possession in overtime and marched 70 yards in five plays. Burrow capped the drive with a nine-yard rushing touchdown, sending the Paycor Stadium crowd into a frenzy. The defense then stopped Tennessee on downs to secure the victory. The win moves Cincinnati to 5-2, keeping the Bengals firmly in the AFC playoff conversation. Perhaps more importantly, it demonstrated that this team can win even when things don't go perfectly. The Bengals now head overseas to Madrid, Spain, for their next matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Sunday's victory was about more than impressive offensive statistics. It was about resilience, teamwork and finding a way to finish when the pressure was highest. If Cincinnati can continue getting contributions from both sides of the football, the Bengals could be a dangerous team as the season progresses. On Tuesday, Indianapolis traded eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner back to the San Francisco 49ers. With the Colts sitting at 2-5, it appears the organization is beginning to look toward the future. For the Cincinnati Bengals, that could create an opportunity to make a significant move. Cincinnati enters the conversation at 4-2 following an impressive comeback victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Joe Burrow and the passing offense have shown they can carry this team, but the Bengals still have areas that need improvement if they want to make a serious playoff run. Their rushing attack has struggled, and the defense could certainly use additional help. One name worth watching is Colts running back Jonathan Taylor. The three-time Pro Bowler would immediately give Cincinnati a dynamic rushing threat capable of taking pressure off Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Taylor has been productive this season, but acquiring him would likely require significant draft capital, with reports suggesting Indianapolis could seek a second-round pick or more. Whether the Bengals are willing to pay that price remains a major question. Still, I believe Cincinnati should at least explore the possibility. The Bengals have a championship-caliber quarterback, and windows like this don't stay open forever. Adding an impact player could be the difference between another frustrating postseason exit and a legitimate Super Bowl push. However, running back isn't necessarily the biggest priority. Cincinnati should also investigate opportunities to strengthen its defense, particularly at linebacker and in the secondary. A difference-maker on that side of the ball might provide more value over the remainder of the season. The Colts' moves prove that significant deals are possible before November 10. Now, the question is whether Cincinnati's front office will be aggressive enough to capitalize. The Bengals don't need to make a blockbuster just for the sake of making one, but standing pat shouldn't automatically be the answer, either.
