Overwhelmed and Stuck on a Decision? How to Know God’s Will (When Your Feelings Are Loud)

A decision lands at 4:45 on a Tuesday, you’re already overwhelmed, and you answer fast. Then you lie awake wondering, “Was that God, or was that just me being tired?” In the first episode of November, Dr. Cara Curry takes on the loudest thing that has been making our decisions for us: our feelings. She shares her own story of letting guilt and pressure run her calendar, what Scripture says about leaning on your own understanding, and the three questions she asks before she reacts, straight from Chapter 5 of her new book, Destiny Decisions. Takeaways:• Your feelings are real, but they were never meant to be your compass. They are information, not instructions.• So much of God’s will is already written down: walk in peace, love well, be faithful with what He has placed in your hands, rest, don’t be anxious.• Before you react, ask: What am I feeling? What is it telling me to do? Does that next step agree with what God has said?• Waiting with peace is not the same as being stuck. Don’t make the big call on your emptiest night.• Walking in freedom doesn’t mean you never feel overwhelmed again. It means the overwhelm doesn’t get to drive.Scripture referenced: Proverbs 3:5–6; Colossians 3:1–3; Philippians 4:6–7; John 16:33 (ESV). This week’s Destiny Decision: “Regardless of my circumstances or how I feel in the moment, I choose peace.” Go deeper in Destiny Decisions, releasing December 3. Knowing vs. Deciding: How to Live What God’s Word Says (Why I Wrote Destiny Decisions)

You know who God says you are, but somewhere between the school drop-off and the 8:00 AM meeting you’re just reacting, and wondering why your life doesn’t look like what God’s Word says. In the final episode of Destiny Decisions month, Dr. Cara Curry shares the heart behind her new book: the title she was given years ago, why knowing isn’t the same as deciding, and the decision that changed her in one of the hardest seasons of her life. You’ll walk away with four questions to sit with and one decision to make on purpose this week. Takeaways:• Knowing who God says you are is the foundation; deciding from it is how you live (James 1:22).• We usually drift out of alignment through a hundred little decisions made from the noise, not one big one, and you can realign with the very next decision.• God’s peace doesn’t depend on everything going right, and peace doesn’t mean you don’t hurt (John 14:27).• Often the situation, and even the choice, looks the same. What changes everything is the heart posture behind it.• This week, pick one decision you usually make on autopilot and make it on purpose. Scripture referenced: James 1:22; Deuteronomy 30:19; John 14:27; Ephesians 5:15–17; Romans 12:2 (ESV). This month’s Destiny Decision: “Urgency doesn’t get to decide how I live. Who God says I am does.” Go deeper in Destiny Decisions, releasing December 3. Signed presale copies include Before the Book, the free seven-day companion: mindsetpush.com/destiny-decisions

Passed Over for a Promotion Again? What to Do When You're Qualified but Not Chosen

Qualified, prepared, and still passed over? When the feedback says "you were very qualified" and there's nothing to fix, it's easy to let someone else's decision tell you who you are. Dr. Cara Curry shares her own story of being passed over for a promotion twice, the noise that followed, and the honest heart question that changed how she pursues the next level: am I trying to steward more of what God has given me, or prove my value? Drawing on Galatians 1:10 and Colossians 3:23–24, she teaches how to keep showing up with excellence without letting a closed door decide your worth, and gives you five questions and one sentence to write down after a no. Takeaways:• A company's decision about a role does not determine who you are.• Ask the honest question: am I going after this to steward more of what God has given me, or to prove my value?• Ambition is not the problem. Keep applying, and keep working heartily, as for the Lord.• Take feedback as growth, not a verdict. Your growth areas are real; they're just not your identity.• After a no, write it down: "That decision was about a role. It was not about who I am." Scripture referenced: Galatians 1:10, Colossians 3:23–24, Jeremiah 1:5, Matthew 6:33 (ESV); Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT). This week's Destiny Decision: "A closed door doesn't get to decide who I am. My worth was settled in Christ before I ever applied."Go deeper in Destiny Decisions, including the chapter "You Have Nothing to Prove." How to Simplify a Busy Schedule by Aligning With God’s Priorities

Do you ever look at your calendar and think, I just need more hours in the day? When life feels full, our first instinct is often to simplify by doing less. But what if simplifying your schedule isn't really about how much you're doing? What if it's about making sure what you're doing is aligned with what God has placed in your hands? In this episode of Mindset PUSH, we're talking about how to simplify a busy schedule by aligning your time with God's priorities. Cara shares what she's learning in a particularly full season of motherhood, marriage, career, ministry, writing, coaching, and business—and why a full plate doesn't automatically mean a misaligned one. When what you're carrying is connected to your assignment, God can provide the strength you need to carry it. Drawing from Isaiah 40, we'll talk about trusting God for renewed strength, recognizing the season you're in, eliminating distractions, evaluating what deserves your yes, and having the confidence to say no when something doesn't align—even when it's a good opportunity. Because something good in the wrong season can still lead to exhaustion and overwhelm. If you're overwhelmed by your schedule, constantly wishing you had more time, or trying to figure out what God is actually asking of you in this season, this episode is for you. It's not about finding more time. It's about becoming intentional with the time God has already given you. Listen now and then take the challenge: read Isaiah 40 and ask God, What have You placed in my hands in this season?
