Go to school, get a job, build a career, find a partner, start a family. We're so used to thinking of life as a series of steps we're supposed to follow, but what if our journeys were never meant to look the same in the first place? In this episode, I'm reflecting on the beauty of figuring life out as we go, learning to embrace the unexpected, and giving ourselves permission to take a different path. Maybe we don't need to have everything figured out by a certain age. Maybe it's okay to change our minds, start something new, or simply pause and appreciate how far we've come. As the seasons change and another year slowly comes to a close, I hope this episode reminds you to be a little kinder to yourself, celebrate your own journey, and remember that you don't have to live according to someone else's timeline.     S2: EP12 | Back to Basics... in the corporate world

    After almost three months away, I’m finally back — and there’s a lot to catch up on. Moving back home to Canada, settling my family into a new city, rebuilding routines, and navigating yet another season of transition has given me plenty of time to think about change, healing, career, and what it really means to begin again. And somewhere in the middle of all of this, I stepped back into the corporate world. On paper, my new role might look like a giant step backwards from where my career once stood. I’m relearning things I’ve known for years, going back to basics, and experiencing familiar work from an entirely different seat. But strangely, it doesn’t feel like going backwards. After three years away from corporate life, I’m beginning to understand that the next chapter doesn’t always have to mean a bigger title, a higher salary, or another step up the ladder. Sometimes it’s about returning with more clarity about who you are, what you value, and how you want to show up. And there is another, much more human reason why this particular role feels meaningful to me — one I share toward the end of this episode. This is a conversation about transitions, healing, humility, relearning, leadership, grief, purpose, and trusting that sometimes the place you’re meant to be next may look very different from the place you thought you were heading.     After a short break from the podcast, I'm back with a personal life update and some reflections on change, progress, and new beginnings. In this episode of Walk With Mii, I share the story behind my recent move back to Canada after more than 15 years of living and working overseas. What began as an idea many months ago has now become reality—a reminder that progress often happens quietly, one step at a time, even when we cannot yet see the destination. I reflect on the experience of relocation, rebuilding routines, leaving behind a life I carefully built over more than a decade, and embracing the uncertainty that comes with starting a new chapter. While many things remain unknown, I have learned that trusting the process, taking the next step, and continuing to move forward often matter more than having all the answers. In this episode of Walk With Mii, I take a step back from the noise of the world and into a simple, yet powerful moment I witnessed at a children’s sports activity. One shared instruction. One group of kids. Completely different reactions. Why does the same situation land so differently depending on age, awareness, and emotional development? Drawing from my experience as a children’s yoga teacher, I reflect on how children process confusion, discipline, and connection—and what that reveals about how we, as adults, lead, guide, and respond in moments of chaos.     S2: EP8 | Break the Cycle — It Stops With Me

    What if the most powerful act of leadership is simply this: the pain stops with me? In this episode, I reflect on how trauma and toxic behaviors transfer — from parents to children, from leaders to teams — unless someone consciously interrupts the pattern. From emotional safety at home to psychological safety at work, I explore how unprocessed pain becomes behavior, behavior becomes culture, and culture becomes legacy. Breaking the cycle isn’t easy. It challenges family norms, corporate traditions, and even our own identity. But leadership isn’t about titles — it’s about choosing awareness over ego, connection over control, and clarity over intimidation. ------ The question is:Will the people around me grow because of me — or need to recover from me? ------ It has to stop with me. And that, is leadership.

    S2: EP6 | Imposter Syndrome at Work

    Have you ever walked into a meeting, looked around and felt a subtle fear that one day someone might realise you’re not as capable as they think? In this episode of Walk With Mii, I unpack imposter syndrome --- beyond the buzzword, beyond the surface-level idea of “low confidence.” I explore why it often appears after success, not before it. Why it tends to show up when you get promoted, step into leadership, or finally arrive at a place you once worked so hard to reach. I share why the people who experience it most are often the ones who care deeply about doing good work. But this episode isn’t just about the individual. I reflect on how workplace cultures — especially those built around KPIs, performance reviews, comparison, and certainty — can unintentionally fuel imposter syndrome. I also explore how imposter syndrome can be a signal of missing psychological safety — and how leaders, without meaning to, sometimes reinforce it by modelling certainty instead of honesty. Towards the end of the episode, I offer practical reflections: how to shift the question from “Am I good enough?” to “What am I learning right now?” Imposter syndrome is not proof that you don’t belong.
