Out of Our Way | Pastor Noah Upton | Discover Church

In his sermon at Discover Church, Pastor Noah addresses the church value and personal Christian mark: "We will be a church that goes out of our way to honor God and to love others." Rooted in the story of Mary anointing Jesus's feet with costly perfume (John 12), the message directly confronts modern self-centered culture and calls believers to prioritize God and others above their own preferences, comfort, and convenience. Pastor Noah outlines five key principles: honor God above yourself, honor God regardless of the cost, choose Christ over cultural norms, stop using spiritual excuses to justify selfishness, and love others sacrificially without expecting anything in return. Ultimately, he challenges the congregation to move past lip service, surrender personal prominence, and intentionally live out an obedient, sacrificial faith that reflects Jesus to the world. Vision - Serving | Pastor Noah Upton | Discover Church

In this sermon from the "Envision" series, Pastor Noah of Discover Church calls the congregation to active, sacrificial discipleship centered on the core vision value: "Serving is what we do, period." Drawing from John 13, where Jesus washed his disciples' dirty feet right before going to the cross, Pastor Noah emphasizes that true love for God and others must translate into tangible action rather than empty words or personal convenience. He challenges believers to step out of passivity, warning against burnout caused by a lack of spiritual filling rather than over-serving, and reminds the church that every individual is a crucial "tool" needed to carry out their mission of helping people discover Jesus, find freedom, embrace purpose, and make a difference. Concluding with a call to action both inside and outside the church walls, he urges members to commit to serving faithfully, knowing that true blessing comes not from receiving, but from selfless obedience and giving. Vision - Why We Exist | Pastor Noah Upton | Discover Church

In this message from the "Vision" series, Pastor Noah centers on the vision value that "the calling is why we exist," reminding believers that their identity and purpose begin with God’s intentional love rather than their own tasks or accomplishments. Grounding his message in Psalm 139, Psalm 23, and Matthew 22, he emphasizes three core truths: every individual is made by God because He wanted them, made for God to exist in intimate relationship with Him rather than merely fulfill a task, and made to follow God as a compassionate shepherd who lovingly leads and protects. Ultimately, Pastor Noah asserts that before God ever asks us to go or do, He invites us to come and belong—simplifying the Christian calling into two essential mandates: to love God with everything we have and to lead others to experience that same transformative love. Vision - Multiply | Pastor Noah Upton | Discover Church

In this message from Discover Church's "Vision" series, Lead Pastor Noah emphasizes the core value "We don't maintain, we multiply," asserting that God's church is called to actively prepare for growth rather than merely preserve existing resources. Rooted in Acts 6:7, Acts 1:8, and the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25), the message outlines four foundational principles: God expects faithful stewardship through multiplication, the church must prioritize multiplying disciples before expanding to new locations, multiplication requires intentionally developing and empowering people to pass on their faith, and the overall vision must extend far beyond a single building or community. Ultimately, Pastor Noah challenges believers to live with open hands—rejecting a backward-looking "museum" mindset—and actively share the gospel so that the kingdom of God continuously grows both locally in Decatur and throughout the world. Vision - All In | Pastor Jaylen Kacsir | Discover Church

In this empowering Vision Series message, Pastor Jaylen challenges the congregation of Discover Church to go "all in," emphasizing that half-hearted faith cannot transform the world. Unpacking the church’s third core vision value, he reframes revival not as a passive miracle to wait for, but as an active decision by believers to be empowered by the Holy Spirit through prayer, worship, and Scripture. Drawing from Acts 2 and 1 Corinthians 4, Pastor Jaylen contrasts empty talk with the active power of God needed to reach cities and change lives. He introduces practical tools like the "Kingdom Circle" framework to help everyday believers step into their influence, urging everyone to take personal responsibility for the Great Commission with the compelling question: "If not you, then who? And if not now, then when?" Thanks for Listening to our weekly messages on the Discover Church Podcast. It's our hope that these messages encourage, challenge, and change those who listen. Vision - Pray and Prepare | Pastor Noah Upton | Discover Church

In this message, Pastor Noah explores the vital church value: "We pray because it depends on Him; we prepare because He entrusted us." Drawing from the stories of Nehemiah rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls, the widow gathering empty jars for Elisha's oil miracle, and Noah constructing the ark, he illustrates how true faith requires both spiritual dependence and practical action. While prayer grounds us in God as our ultimate source and guards against pride, intentional preparation builds the capacity to steward the miracles we are believing for. Ultimately, we are challenged to eliminate the divide between prayer and preparation—kneeling to seek God's power while actively building in faith for the future He has promised. Jesus Is Coming Soon | Pastor Noah Upton | Discover Church

In this impactful sermon on Mark 13, Pastor Noah unpacks Jesus’ end-times prophecy to remind us that the purpose of scripture's future promises is not idle speculation, but immediate preparation. As he walks through the entire chapter, Pastor Noah challenges believers to guard against spiritual deception, hold fast to unwavering hope amidst a shaking world, and shake off spiritual complacency. Because no one knows the day or hour of Christ’s return, the church must stay alert and operate with urgent intentionality—not only keeping our own faith secure, but actively sharing the Gospel to awaken a sleeping world before time runs out.
