S2: Ep 31- Living your life with a Chronic Illness

What happens when the life you imagined doesn’t look the way you expected? In this episode, we sit down with Ali Laszik and her faithful companion- Ezra -who is, an artist, creator, and someone who has learned to navigate life with chronic illness. Ali openly shares her journey living with Type 1 diabetes and autonomic neuropathy, and how these experiences have changed the way she looks at her time, energy, creativity, and what truly brings fulfillment. We talk about “spoon theory” and what it means to make intentional choices when your energy is limited. Ali shares how she has learned to prioritize what matters most rather than feeling like she has to do everything—and how giving yourself permission to slow down can be an important part of living well. We also dive into the healing and fulfilling power of creativity and art. From painting to simply allowing herself to create, Ali explains why making something can bring a sense of purpose and joy that isn't measured by productivity or income. And then there’s Ezra, Ali's service dog, who plays an incredible role in helping her manage her diabetes. Their relationship is a beautiful reminder of the ways animals can become not only companions, but an important part of our support system. Ali's story isn't simply about living with illness. It’s about finding your identity beyond your challenges, recognizing what gives your life meaning, and learning to honor the energy you have. Whether you live with chronic illness, support someone who does, or have ever struggled with feeling like your circumstances are holding you back, this conversation offers encouragement, perspective, and a reminder that fulfillment can still be found—even when life looks different than you imagined. 🎙️ Join Christine and Melanie for this inspiring conversation with Ali and discover what it means to create a life that feels meaningful, one “spoon” at a time. 💭 We Want to Hear From YouHere’s a question for you to think about: 👉 What is one thing in your life that brings you joy or makes you feel fulfilled—and are you making enough time for it? S2: Ep 28 Who Coaches the Coach?

Have you ever felt like you needed someone in your corner? Someone who could help you see things differently, challenge you, encourage you, and help you move forward? And here's the thing… even life coaches need coaches! In this episode, we take a look at what it's like when the person who spends their time helping others decides they need someone to help them, too. We’ll talk about why having a coach doesn't mean you have all the answers—it means you're willing to keep growing. Starting out as a coach can feel daunting. Many aspiring coaches question their abilities, struggle with self-doubt, and often find themselves overwhelmed by the business side of coaching. Todays podcast Christine and Melanie share valuable insights from special guest with Nancy Presser, a coach for coaches, who has dedicated her career to helping new coaches overcome these hurdles and thrive in their practice. Nancy is a seasoned coach who specializes in guiding other coaches through the challenges of building their businesses. Her unique background in health coaching, massage therapy, and yoga provides her with a holistic approach to coaching. Nancy understands the struggles that new coaches face because she has been there herself. She emphasizes the importance of support and mentorship in achieving success. Nancy's journey into coaching began about seven years ago when she trained to become a health coach. Despite her extensive background, she faced significant challenges initially. After a year of working with her coach without seeing results, she was left feeling discouraged and questioning her capabilities. This pivotal moment inspired her to become a coach for coaches. Nancy's motivation stems from a desire to prevent others from experiencing the same struggles she faced, especially the pain of feeling like a failure. 💭 We want to hear from YOU: Have you ever reached a point in your life where you thought, “Maybe I need a coach”? What would you want help with? Or have you ever worked with a coach, and what was your experience? Drop your thoughts in the comments—we'd love to hear your story! ❤️ Music provided with permission by Bensound Find us on FB/TikTok/IG and all streaming platforms Contact us at collaborativegrowthcoaching@gmail.com
