What Game Are You Playing? The Secret to Building a Better Real Estate Business

Are you building a real estate business that's actually giving you the life you want? Or are you just getting better at being busy? Here's the deal. More transactions, more agents, more leads, and more money don't automatically mean you're winning. If you're constantly overwhelmed, chasing the next deal, and wondering when you'll finally have some freedom, it might be time to ask yourself a different question: What game are you actually playing? In this episode, we're sharing Part 2 of my opening keynote from our annual Real Growth Summit, where we brought together real estate agents, team leaders, and brokerage owners from across North America to talk about doubling their income AND their impact. We're getting practical about what it takes to build a real estate business that supports the life you actually want to live. We'll talk about the SIX THINGS I believe can dramatically increase your income, why communicating your value matters just as much as delivering it, how to eliminate unnecessary complexity, and why specializing and differentiating yourself are so important. But we're also going beyond the money. Because what's the point of building a wildly successful real estate business if you don't have the time, energy, or freedom to enjoy it? Or the capacity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people who matter most? My hope is that you'll walk away from this episode with more clarity about what you're building, why you're building it, and what you might need to STOP doing to get there. Here's my challenge for you: If your business were 10 times better a year from now, what would actually be different? Not just the numbers, but your life. Tell me in the comments. I'd love to hear your answer! If you're a real estate agent, team leader, or brokerage owner who wants to build a business with more freedom, more purpose, and greater impact, this one's for you. Want help getting clear on your goals and putting a plan into action? Here's a link to grab 15 minutes on my calendar. Let's talk! Chat with me 1:1: https://toddtramonte.youcanbook.com/ And if this hits home, share it with someone who needs to hear it. — Website: https://RealEstateGrowthSystems.com Phone: 214-216-2161 SUBSCRIBE: https://goo.gl/k7G5Di Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RealEstateGrowthSystems

Stop Chasing More! Build a Real Estate Business You Actually Want

What game are you playing in your real estate business? And more importantly, would you even know if you won? It's a question that sounds simple, but after nearly 30 years in small business and more than 16 years coaching real estate agents, I've learned that one of our biggest challenges isn't figuring out HOW to grow. It's figuring out what we actually want to build. In this episode, I'm sharing the first part of my opening keynote from our annual Real Growth Summit, where our theme was Double Your Income, Double Your Impact. We're talking about why having too many opportunities can actually hold you back, why bigger isn't always better, and how to get clear on the kind of real estate business you want to build and the life you want that business to support. Because here's the deal: You can chase more transactions, more agents, more revenue, and more growth, but if you don't know WHY you're chasing those things, you might end up building a business you don't even want. I'll also walk you through some questions to help you identify what you want more of, what you want less of, and whether the goals you're pursuing are actually moving you toward the life you want. Sometimes the goal isn't to build a business that's 10 times bigger. It's to build one that's 10 times better. This is Part 1 of our Real Growth Summit keynote series, so stick around for Part 2, where we'll dig even deeper into what winning really looks like and who else wins when you do. If you're a real estate agent, team leader, or brokerage owner who wants to build a business with more freedom, more purpose, and greater impact, this one's for you. You Don't Need Any More Leads

“I just need more leads.” We hear that from real estate agents all the time. But before you spend another dollar generating new leads, there’s a good chance you already have more opportunity sitting in your database than you realize. In this episode of Commissioned, Ian and I are talking about how to get MORE business out of the leads, contacts, past clients, friends, family, and relationships you already have. The problem usually isn’t a lack of names, phone numbers, or email addresses. It’s that there’s no consistent system for staying in touch, waking those relationships back up, and following up when someone raises their hand. We break down how to segment your database, use simple texts and emails to restart conversations, identify truly dead leads, create a consistent follow-up schedule, and customize your approach once you actually connect with someone. And none of this requires grinding through thousands of cold calls. The goal is to build a system where you know who you’re contacting, why you’re contacting them, what you’re going to say, and exactly when you’re going to follow up. Do this well and you might discover that you don’t need more leads at all. And if you DO decide to generate more leads, you’ll have a much better idea of exactly which types of leads are actually worth your time and money. If you’re a real estate agent, team leader, or broker trying to grow your business without simply adding more hustle, more expenses, and more chaos, this episode is for you. Stop Coaching Agents Who Don't Have A Skill Problem

One of the most frustrating parts of leading a real estate team is having an agent who isn’t producing and not knowing why. Do they not know HOW to do the job? Or do they know exactly what to do and simply aren’t doing it? Those are two very different problems, and if you diagnose the wrong one, you can waste a tremendous amount of time, energy, and money trying to fix it. In this episode, Ian and I break down a simple framework every real estate team leader, broker, and agent building a team needs to understand: Skill problems require training. Effort problems require accountability. We’ll walk through the questions you can ask to figure out which problem you actually have. Does the agent know what good performance looks like? Can they demonstrate the skills? Have they successfully done it before? And are they actually doing the work consistently? From there, the leadership path gets much clearer. If they don’t know, teach them. If they know but can’t execute, coach them. If they can do it but won’t, it’s time for accountability. We also talk about one of the biggest mistakes leaders make: labeling someone as lazy or incapable too quickly. Sometimes what looks like a work ethic problem is actually fear, lack of confidence, unclear expectations, or an agent spending a ton of time on the wrong activities. If you lead real estate agents and want to build a team that produces without burning yourself out trying to drag everyone across the finish line, this episode is for you. Why Most Real Estate Agents Are Too Available

Are you actually TOO available to your real estate clients? A lot of agents have been taught that great service means answering every call, responding to every text immediately, and being available whenever a client needs something. But that kind of 24/7 availability doesn’t necessarily make you a better agent. In fact, it could be hurting your business, your clients, and your life. In this episode, Ian and I are talking about why great real estate professionals need boundaries. We get into the difference between being responsive and being constantly available, how to set expectations with clients from the very beginning, and why saying “call me anytime” might be one of the worst promises you can make. We also talk about how systems, automation, delegation, and proactive communication can help you provide world-class service without living in constant reaction mode. Because the goal isn’t to care LESS about your clients. It’s to build a business where you can serve them at an incredibly high level while still having time for your family, your health, your relationships, and the life you’re building the business to support in the first place. If you’re an agent, team leader, or broker who feels like you’re always on call, always checking your phone, or constantly letting someone else’s urgency control your schedule, this episode is for you. The Fall Rest: What Every Agent Should Fix Before January?

Is your real estate business ready for a fall reset? You don’t have to wait until January to clean things up, refocus, and start making better decisions. In fact, the work you do right now could determine how well you finish this year AND how much momentum you carry into 2027. In this episode, Ian and I are talking about a simple fall reset for real estate agents, team leaders, and brokers who want to finish the year strong without adding more grind to their business. We’re breaking down how to clean up your database and identify your best opportunities, get clear on the numbers that actually matter, audit where your time and money are going, and figure out what you need to STOP doing. Then, we’ll talk about what to double down on over the next 90 days so you can generate more business, strengthen your relationships, and head into the new year with momentum instead of starting from scratch in January. This isn’t about completely reinventing your business. It’s about tidying up what you already have, getting rid of what isn’t working, and putting more time, energy, and money toward the things that are. If you’re a real estate agent who feels like your business could use a reset before the end of the year, this episode is for you. Stop Grinding: 5 Things Top Producing Real Estate Agents Do Differently - Part 2

If your real estate business feels like a constant cycle of chasing the next lead, closing a few deals, getting busy, and then realizing your pipeline is empty again, there’s a better way to build this business. In Part 2 of this conversation, Ian and I break down the systems, habits, and priorities that help top producing real estate agents, team leaders, and brokers create more consistent income without living in the daily grind. The goal isn't to stop working hard. It's to make sure your hard work is actually building something. We walk through five areas that can completely change the way you run your real estate business: focusing on high-value activities, operating from a pipeline and scorecard, improving your skills and conversion, using leverage, and setting clear standards and boundaries. Think about it like an orchard. You can carry buckets of water to every tree, every single day, or you can put in the work to build an irrigation system. Both require work. Only one gives you leverage. That's the difference between constantly hunting for one more buyer, seller, referral, or closing and building a real estate business that consistently produces opportunities, income, and impact. We also get practical about what numbers real estate agents should track, how to reverse engineer your production goals, why conversion matters as much as lead generation, when to automate or delegate, and why having boundaries can actually make your clients trust and respect you more. If you're a real estate agent, team leader, broker, or brokerage owner who wants more consistent production without sacrificing your entire life to get it, this episode is for you. And if you missed Part 1, go back and start there. This conversation builds directly on it. Want to grow your business, increase profitability, and make a bigger impact?
