Is Faith Reasonable? | Apologetics: Defending Your Hope Within

Matthew 22:34–40; Hebrews 11:1–6; Isaiah 1:18; Acts 17:2–3, 11; Deuteronomy 29:29 When someone says, "You just have to have faith," what do they usually mean? A lot of people think faith means believing something without evidence, or even against it. That's a false choice. Faith and reason are not opposites. In session two we look at what biblical faith actually is: not a leap into the dark, but a reasonable, personal trust in the God who has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ. We talk about what makes trust reasonable, how Scripture invites us to love God with all our mind, why Christianity doesn't depend on knowing everything, and what to do with honest doubts, with help from C.S. Lewis, John Stott, and Tim Keller. We start the night with a look back at our trip to Passion.

Is It Okay to Like Jesus, But Not People? | The Big Twenty | Oct. 18, 2026

Can you follow Jesus without His people? A lot of us have been hurt by the church, or just find church people weird. Is it okay to love Jesus and skip the rest? In Acts 2, we see that the church isn't a building we attend or an event we consume. It's the people Jesus died for, and when He saves you, He adds you to them. We talk honestly about church hurt, why we need each other, and how to move from hurt to hope. Acts 2:37–47. Ephesians 5:25.

What Is Apologetics? | Apologetics: Defending Your Hope Within

If someone asked you why you're a Christian, what would you say? We kick off a new apologetics series: what it is, what it isn't, and why every Christian is called to it. We look at the Greek word apologia ("a defense or reasoned explanation"), how apologetics and evangelism work together, and why arguments can remove obstacles but can't produce saving faith on their own. Then we walk through 1 Peter 3:13–17: honor Christ as Lord, be prepared to give a reason for the hope you have, and do it with gentleness and respect. Apologetics isn't about winning arguments. It's about knowing the truth, defending our hope, and pointing people to Jesus. 1 Peter 3:13–17; Colossians 4:5–6; 1 Corinthians 3:6–7; 2 Corinthians 5:18–20

Aliens | What Does the Bible Really Say About…?

Genesis 1:1; Psalm 8:3–5; John 1:3; John 1:14; Hebrews 10:10; Deuteronomy 29:29 Does life exist beyond Earth? Does the Bible say anything about aliens? And if they're out there, what would that mean for the gospel? We close out the series with a fun one that raises serious questions. We watch Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot, look at popular myths (Ezekiel's "UFO," the Nephilim, "aliens can't exist"), and see what Scripture does and doesn't say. We also talk about why so many people look to the stars for answers. The bottom line: we don't know what's out there, but we know who made it.

Social Justice | What Does the Bible Really Say About…?

Micah 6:8; Genesis 1:27; Leviticus 19:15; Proverbs 31:8–9; Isaiah 1:17; Ephesians 2:14; Galatians 3:28 Justice isn't optional for Christians. "Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8). The real question is: who gets to define justice? We look at what our culture means by "social justice," clear up common misconceptions, and walk through what Scripture says about justice, impartiality, and caring for the vulnerable. We also talk about where Christians disagree, and how the gospel breaks down the walls that divide people. The bottom line: God defines justice, and we are called to live it out.

Sent to Share | Pastor Krist Norsworthy | Sept. 27, 2026

Acts 26:1–29 God gave you a story of grace, and part of the reason is so you can share it. In Acts 26, Paul stands before King Agrippa and tells his: who he was, how Jesus stopped him in his tracks, how his life changed, and how it all points to what Scripture says about Christ. We look at how to follow that same pattern when telling your own story, and we hear from two young men in our church: one whose view of love and marriage was changed by seeing how Christ loves the church, and one who went from searching and doubting to following Jesus. Your testimony doesn't have to be dramatic. Becoming a new creation is a miracle. Who has God put in your life to hear it?

Patriotism | What Does the Bible Really Say About…?

Jeremiah 29:7; Romans 13:1; Acts 5:29; Philippians 3:20; 1 Peter 2:9–11; Matthew 5:43–48 Can a Christian love their country without giving it the allegiance and hope that belong only to God? We look at the difference between patriotism and nationalism, what our culture says, and common myths on both sides. Then we turn to Scripture: God is sovereign over the nations, believers are citizens of heaven first, and we are still called to seek the good of the place where we live. We also talk through where Christians disagree, including national identity, national symbols, and military service. The bottom line: love your country, serve your neighbors, pray for your leaders, and tell the truth.

Shaped in Time | Pastor Krist Norsworthy | Sept. 20, 2026

Genesis 12:1–4; Genesis 15:1–6; Genesis 16:1–4; Genesis 21:1–7; Genesis 22:1–14 When you pray for patience, God usually doesn't just hand it to you. He grows it in you over time. That's sanctification, becoming more like Jesus. We walk through the story of Abraham and Sarah and see how God shapes us through obedience, through waiting, through our failures, and through His faithfulness, until we learn to trust the Giver and not just the gift. We also hear one young woman's story of how God met her in some of the hardest seasons of her life. God isn't only working on where you're going. He's working on who you're becoming.
