ADHDers Exploring Non-Monogamy with Jayden Aubryn

We’re talking about polyamory and ethical non-monogamy (ENM) on the podcast this week with our awesome guest Jayden Aubryn! We were asked how to navigate the dating world as someone who’s open to non-monogamy and polyamory but struggles with executive functioning, as well as how to handle the loneliness and rejection that comes with decentering sex when dating. Jayden fills us in on how to get started with ENM and the etiquette for dating someone who’s polyam! This week on Hit Me Again (the guest bonus content on Patreon), we're talking all about non-monogamy and common pitfalls, as well as Jayden's personal experiences. If you're curious about what to watch out for when navigating non-monogamy (ENM), this bonus content is one you won't want to miss. (It's also part of our finale! New episodes coming in October for Season 3.) Jayden Aubryn (they/them) is a Black, Indigenous, queer, non-binary, AuDHD, and ethically non-monogamous psychotherapist, personal trainer, and consultant. They are a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and founded TISE Consulting and Therapy. Jayden holds additional certifications in School Social Work, Integrative Health, Sex Therapy Informed Professional, Clinical Trauma Professional, and Trauma-Informed Weightlifting... and more! Learning to Drive for Autistics & ADHDers

We’re covering the complexities of driving as an autistic, ADHD, or AuDHDer this week on the podcast! A parent wants to know how to encourage their teen, so we’re sharing some main considerations. We’re also discussing why there’s so much stigma out there for non-drivers, especially in the United States. Whether you’re driving vehicles or not, this episode may resonate with your experiences! (Special shout-out to therians who decide not to drive!) On Upping the Ante, our bonus content over on Patreon, we’re sharing our horror stories about being behind the wheel! Kade calls the cops on himself and Sabrina has to call the cops to help her after a hit-and-run… and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. (If car accident and related tales are upsetting for you, you might want to skip this one.) Adult Autistic Shutdowns

This week is all about autistic shutdowns with a side-serving of alexithymia! If you struggle to know how you’re feeling while you’re feeling it, this episode may resonate with you. We’re discussing how to support yourself when you’re shutting down, how to find an outlet for emotions and even possibly identify them, and more. Autistic adult shutdowns don’t get enough airtime! We're answering: I was clinically diagnosed this year before my 51st birthday with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1. Long story short I grew up in an abusive household and was taught at a young age to hold every emotion inside lest I upset someone. How do I know if I’m having a shutdown or if it’s my trained reaction to conflict? What can I do to reduce these moments? Mental health therapy is not accessible to me where I live with my income unless I turn to a platform that seems to churn out therapy to the masses and I don’t feel great to do that. Thank you both for your thoughts. What is Gray Ace? Autism, Blackness & Asexuality with Lici Rodgers

Today we're joined by a guest to bring you some great info on greysexuality, Blackness, and Autism. Alyshia “Lici” Rodgers, otherwise known as YaGirlLici on Instagram and TikTok, is a Southern Mississippi Graphic Designer and watercolor artist. She’s a self-described AroAce AuAdhd Semi-Professional Yapper. She has spent the past two years creating content and providing commentary on asexual and aromantic representation in popular culture. Her social media platforms strive to help the Asexual & Aromantic community advocate for more diversity in aro/ace representation on screen, in books, and more. We're answering: What is gray ace or graysexuality? How do I know if that’s the right term for me? I feel like a lot of them are similar like is demi technically gray ace? Does gray mean I’m on the asexuality spectrum or is gray a spectrum too?I’m new to understanding myself as ace or gray or something and I feel really stuck. Is there really no representation for us out there? I can’t even figure out where I fall on the spectrum and I just feel so lost without a blueprint. Where do I find my gray ace people? I’m a sex repulsed Black ace femme and I’m so damn tired of being hypersexualized. It makes me feel gross and I get that it’s gross for everyone but it feels extra gross to me. Does anyone else feel this way? How can I stop it?Show notes: Lici’s linktree: https://linktr.ee/yagirlliciThe Aromantic-spectrum Union for Recognition, Education and Advocacy (AUREA): https://www.aromanticism.org/ Asexual dating app: https://asexuals.net/ Exes & Foes by Amanda Woody: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/673662/exes-and-foes-by-amanda-woody/ The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic (TWs): https://share.libbyapp.com/title/4240388 Kiss Her Once for Me by Alison Cochrun: https://www.alisoncochrun.com/kiss-her-once-for-me Kiss Me, Maybe by Gabriella Gamez: https://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/gabriella-gamez/kiss-me-maybe/9781538726655 Here We Go Again by Alison Cochrun (TWs): https://www.alisoncochrun.com/here-we-go-againTo ask us questions, fill out the form at www.neurokink.org/auys Find more content on Patreon (18+): www.patreon.com/AcesUpYourSleevePodcast Sabrina at www.radicalingingishtsconsulting.com or @radicalinsightsconsulting on social media (FB, IG) Kade at www.cryptidlearns.com or @cryptidlearns on social media (FB, IG)

Autistic & ADHD Masturbation

Have you had “the sex talk” lately? We’re talking about masturbation, “sex talks”, and consent on this week’s episode! If you’re wondering if it’s normal to m********e before or during mundane tasks or if you’re a parent curious about how to talk to your kids about bodies, sex, and consent, we’ve got you covered. Join us to hear the nuances around being autistic and ADHD, and masturbation and sexual education. We're answering: is masturbating as a relaxation/focus thing without sexual arousal, so just masturbating while doing regular paperwork stuff without being aroused by the paperwork a thing, and is it just a neurodivergent thing or not? I've seen some similar stuff about ADHD and masturbation that maybe supports my specific ponderings, but nothing concrete. Hi Aces, I’m an ADHD mom of two young AuDHD kids and I don’t know where to begin with the sex talk. I believe masturbation is normal and healthy but I have no idea when to tell them that or how much instruction I’m supposed to give? My family didn’t talk about these things and I don’t have any examples of how to do this. Community for Neurodivergent Therapists

This week, we’re exploring how neurodivergent therapists can find, build, and sustain supportive communities both online and offline! These questions get asked in a lot of the shared spaces we’re in, so we’re offering our thoughts and ideas, as well as real groups to join. We’re talking all about how to foster meaningful connections *and* professional growth. It can be tough out there for ND therapists like us! We’d love to know what your favorite ways are to connect with others? And if you’re not a therapist: don’t worry! The tips and sentiments we’re sharing are pretty universal for anyone who’s seeking community. On Upping the Ante, we’re sharing some tips for therapists and business owners around systems for productivity, the role of accountability partners, and the usefulness of body doubling. We’re also talking more about building and shaping community, including the importance of conflict resolution and handling disagreements in community spaces. Check the show notes for links!
