    Ep 59: Instagram vs. Reality: Birthdays, Mom Guilt & Meltdowns

    Apparently, a Sweet 16 now requires a flower bar, a handmade birthday gift board, a house full of teenagers, and a parent who's one minor inconvenience away from completely losing it. 😂 This week, Caroline shares the story of her epic meltdown after coming home from New York, only to be thrown straight into homecoming, birthday party planning, contractors, and about a million other things. Meanwhile, Shane is having his own crisis trying to preorder his new iPhone Duo. We get into the pressure of parenting teenagers, mom guilt, social media expectations, and why everything has to be so over-the-top these days. Are we doing too much for our kids? And how do you give them special memories without driving yourself completely insane?     Ep. 55: Our Smart Home Is Getting a Little TOO Smart

    This week, Shane found a smart door opener that can literally open and close your doors for you—which sounds amazing… until Caroline starts thinking about hackers, AI, getting locked inside the house, and all the ways it could be used to terrorize the kids (which could be fun...). We get into the smart home upgrades we actually want, why fingerprints still matter on smart locks, Caroline’s campaign for smart curtains, whether Apple is EVER going to release its rumored smart home display, and why AI could finally make smart homes interesting again. Then somehow robot lawn mowers lead to an argument about who actually does yard work, the internet roasting our fence, whether the giant trampoline needs to go, and Caroline making a very passionate case for leopard-print cushions on the back porch.     Ep 54: We Made Dating Profiles… We’re Screwed

    What would our dating profiles look like if we suddenly had to start over in 2026? Apparently… not great. This week starts on a much more serious note after a scary situation at our daughter’s school left us a bit shaken right before filming the episode. Thankfully, everything turned out okay, but it was one of those parenting moments that drains every bit of energy out of you. Then we desperately needed to lighten things up. So we decided to answer dating-app prompts and build the profiles we’d have if we were single today. Bucket lists, greatest strengths, love languages, biggest risks, dating dealbreakers… and somehow Shane’s entire profile basically becomes Apple, dessert, and food. We also get into whether we’d actually use dating apps, blind-date photo shoots, why Caroline would absolutely run a background check, old movie quotes, and much more.     Ep. 53: My Wife Loved When I Left… 😂 | IFA Berlin Trip, Apple’s Foldable iPhone & CES Chaos

    We’re back after a little hiatus, and apparently Caroline had a GREAT time while Shane was gone. 😂 Shane finally made it home from events in Boston and Berlin, Germany after basically forgetting what sleep feels like. So this week is a genuine catch-up. Caroline tells him why the house was suspiciously peaceful without him, what solo parenting while sick actually looked like, and why she maybe could’ve handled him staying gone a little longer. Then we get into the important stuff: sex robots, a robot with an unnecessarily large butt, tech concepts that probably shouldn’t exist, robot vacuums and mowers we’d actually buy, and what Shane really thought about IFA this year. We also get into Apple’s new foldable iPhone, that $2,000 price tag, all the Apple rumors that never came true, Vision Pro, and whether Shane should finally branch out and make iPhone videos.     Ep 52: What’s Off Limits Once You’re Married?

    Caroline had a girls’ night last night…and showed up to record this episode with one of the worst hangovers of her life. So naturally, that leads us into a completely reasonable conversation about marriage boundaries. 😂 How late is too late to stay out without your spouse? Is it okay to accept a drink from another guy? What about opposite-sex friends, texting an ex, having a “work husband” or “work wife,” strip clubs, giving someone your Instagram, or following thirst trap accounts? We go through a whole list of situations and decide what we’re personally okay with, what feels disrespectful, and what is an immediate absolutely-not. Plus, Caroline embarrasses Shane, we confess one of our worst parenting moments ever, and somehow a smart lamp becomes part of the hangover recovery process. As always, these are just our opinions and what works in our marriage.
