    Significant Other: The Art of Choosing and Growing Well

    Welcome to the Influence by RCL Podcast! In this episode --- the final part of our Wheel of Life Series, --- The SIGNIFICANT OTHER spoke in our wheel is often the one that either stabilizes the whole wheel or causes the most friction in the other areas like career, money, health or personal growth. We call them our SIGNIFICANT OTHER, but have you ever stopped to ask: what exactly is the significance they bring to your growth, and what significance are you bringing to theirs? The main secret to a successful, loving, and transformative long-term partnership or marriage is in "choosing well." As Eduardo Jose E. Calasanz once noted in his essay, choosing well is key to everything that begins well, and therefore ends well. It is fundamentally about compatibility with each other in more ways than one. My key take aways for this final spoke in the Wheel are embedded in those beautiful real love stories that I shared with the key concepts I articulated in the art of choosing and growing well ....

    The GENIE's Choice : MONEY As The Armor Of Life

    Here is a familiar fable. You freed a Genie from a Bottle and he gave you a choice as a reward. He asked you to choose wisely. The choices: Have absolute power or Have infinite wealth? . . . . . If it's you, what would you choose? If you were to poll a random room of people, Money would likely be the overwhelming winner. You likely want the freedom to control your own Tuesday afternoon (which money provides) rather than the responsibility of controlling others' lives (which power requires).The most coveted area in the Wheel of life which is foundational to the quality of life we strive for after health is our money and finance. In business, career and personal life settings, money and finance governs our self esteem, our self worth, our achievement and our growth mode. We connect success to having money and strong finances more than having power. While money and finance is not a true measure of true happiness, it is a means to the desired outcome. Money and finance if managed well, will have a more protracted value in time compared to power that in may potentially diminish with age and circumstances.Additionally, money allows us to preserve our family's future (education for our children, care for aging parents.) It ensures that your influence on the world doesn’t stop the moment you stop working. Finally, I want you to look at your wheel today and ask yourself: Are you spending your life building a fortune … or are you using your fortune to build a life.?🔗 Enjoyed this reflection?     Mastering Your Physical Environment : Stewardship vs. Status

    One  often overlooked but crucial slice in TheWheel of Life is your Physical Environment. Let me give you this challenge to contemplate on: What significance to your overall success, accomplishment, and state of being do you attribute to the stewardship of your spaces… those that encompass where you live and work, the objects you own, the safety of your surroundings, and the general atmosphere that surrounds you? This matters. Your external environment is a feedback loop to your internal state of being, essential to creating the mental clarity and professional image that leads to your success. Improving your physical environment is an act of self-respect.     Fun & Recreation: The Integrator of the Wheel

    True balance in The Wheel of Life doesn't mean scoring a perfect 10 in every area, nor does it mean keeping the other areas completely separate. It often means finding activities that have a wide-reaching, positive effect on multiple areas simultaneously, making your wheel "smoother" and easier to roll. Fun & Recreation is a prime area for this kind of powerful integration. By weaving your desire for good and memorable Fun & Recreation into these seemingly "serious" areas in the Wheel, you make progress towards your goals . . . . enjoyable, sustainable and less like tedious work.
