The One Where We Trust God In The Waiting

Thanks for joining us for this episode of That’s Why We’re Friends. The podcast is created for women in the oldish season of life, where we get real & vulnerable about all things faith, family, our bodies, health & everything in between.   If you’re looking for a space to laugh & cry about the real stuff, this is it!  —---- This week on That’s Why We’re Friends… In this episode, we continue our series on biblical femininity by looking at the story of Hannah—a woman who knew what it felt like to carry such a deep desire that it physically hurt. Hannah longed for a child while enduring misunderstanding, heartbreak, comparison, and disappointment. And yet through all of it, we see a woman who continued bringing her honest heart before God. We talk about the tension of wanting something deeply good and wondering why God hasn’t given it yet. We discuss the pain of waiting, trusting God in seasons that feel confusing, and learning how disappointment can actually draw us closer to Him instead of further away. This conversation is for anyone walking through unanswered prayers, grief, longing, or uncertainty. Hannah’s story reminds us that God sees us fully, understands our pain, and invites us to trust Him even when we don’t understand the process. Sometimes God’s answer looks different from what we imagined. Sometimes His timing stretches us. But even in the waiting, He is still faithful. And maybe the deeper invitation is this: Will we allow Him to still be God while we trust Him with our hearts? —------- To get all the freebies we offer, follow this link: https://thatswhywerefriends.com/freebies Remember to subscribe & follow so you never miss anything we’ve got going on! The One Where We Trust God With Our Yes

—---- This week on That’s Why We’re Friends… In this episode, we continue our conversation around biblical femininity by looking at the life and strength of Mary, the mother of Jesus. When we think about strength, we often picture confidence, power, or certainty. But Mary’s story shows us something different. Her strength was found in surrender, trust, prayer, and a willingness to say “yes” to God even when she didn’t fully understand what He was asking of her. We talk about what it means to keep our eyes fixed on God for our strength, the sacrifice that can come with walking closely with Him, and the sacred moments that happen when we choose obedience over comfort. Mary reminds us that God is not looking for perfection; He’s looking for willing hearts that trust His character enough to follow Him. This episode is an encouragement for anyone who feels unqualified, uncertain, or stretched thin. God doesn’t ask us to come to Him already perfected. He simply asks us to walk with Him as He sanctifies and strengthens us along the way. —------- To get all the freebies we offer, follow this link:https://thatswhywerefriends.com/freebies Remember to subscribe & follow so you never miss anything we’ve got going on! The One With Rachel Joy

—---- This week on That’s Why We’re Friends… In this episode, we sit down with Rachel Joy from Sparrow Collective to talk about faith, freedom, obedience, and what happens when we simply give God our “yes.” Rachel shares the story behind the ministry God built through her - a beautiful testimony of how He can take ordinary obedience and create something far beyond what we could imagine. Together, we talk about walking by faith even when things feel uncertain, trusting God with the dreams He places in our hearts, and learning to hear His voice in the middle of life’s chaos. This conversation is a reminder that God is present in the small things, that Godly community matters deeply, and that being faithful is far more important than having everything figured out. When we’ve experienced the freedom of Jesus for ourselves, it naturally becomes our desire to see others walk in that same freedom too. If you’ve been holding back, waiting to feel “ready,” this episode will encourage you to trust that God can do anything with a surrendered heart. The One Where Strength Doesn’t Look Like Hustle

—----This week on That’s Why We’re Friends… In this episode, we begin our conversation on the Proverbs 31 woman and what biblical femininity really looks like. For many women, this passage has felt overwhelming - like a list of expectations to live up to. But what if it was never meant to be that? We explore how the life of the Proverbs 31 woman isn’t about perfection or performance, but about a life lived faithfully over time. A life marked by serving others, honoring God, and stewarding what He’s given us. As we walk with the Lord, the fruit of the Spirit becomes evident - not through striving, but through abiding. And the longer we walk with Him, the more our trust grows, and our identity becomes secure. This conversation is an invitation to release pressure, embrace purpose, and see strength through a biblical lens. ---- To get all the freebies we offer, follow this link: https://thatswhywerefriends.com/freebies Remember to subscribe & follow so you never miss anything we’ve got going on! The One Where We Become What We Behold

—---- This week on That’s Why We’re Friends… What we behold is what we become, and that changes everything about how we approach our faith. In this episode, we talk about why transformation isn’t about trying harder or fixing our behavior, but about becoming so captivated by Jesus that change happens naturally. We unpack how everything else we look to for identity or stability eventually feels shaky and uncertain, because the world is constantly shifting the target. But Jesus is different…He is steady, unchanging, and a firm foundation we can build our lives on. If you’ve been striving to become “better” or feeling worn out trying to keep up, this conversation will re-center you on the One who actually transforms you from the inside out. —------- Want 30% off first order + up to $60 free gift at Thrive Market? Thanks for joining us for this episode of That’s Why We’re Friends. The podcast is created for women in the oldish season of life, where we get real & vulnerable about all things faith, family, our bodies, health & everything in between.   If you’re looking for a space to laugh & cry about the real stuff, this is it!  —---- This week on That’s Why We’re Friends… In this episode, we’re joined by Taylor Cole, online campus pastor at Valley Creek Church, who shares how a hard season in her life reshaped the way she sees God. With a background in TV production and communications, Taylor brings a unique perspective to what it means to truly behold Jesus, not just as a concept, but as a lived, daily experience. We talk about how slowing down and noticing God in everyday moments allows His words and ways to take root in our hearts and overflow into how we live. Taylor shares how gratitude and curiosity led her to become fascinated with God again, why beholding is so much bigger than worship alone, and how creating margin for “holy interruptions” can open our eyes to Him in ways we might otherwise miss. This conversation is an invitation to step out of a formula and into a fuller experience of who God is. The One Where We Trade Our Weariness for His Strength

The podcast is created for women in the oldish season of life, where we get real & vulnerable about all things faith, family, our bodies, health & everything in between.   If you’re looking for a space to laugh & cry about the real stuff, this is it!  —---- This week on That’s Why We’re Friends… Jesus doesn’t just show us the ways of God, He embodies them. In this episode, we talk about the invitation He gives us in Matthew 11:28, to come to Him when we are weary and find real rest. We unpack what it means that Jesus is gentle and humble in heart, how His authority is not harsh but deeply comforting, and why we so easily lose sight of Him even when we know He’s with us. If you’ve been carrying more than you were meant to or feeling spiritually tired, this conversation is a reminder that Jesus isn’t asking more from you—He’s inviting you to come closer and let Him carry you. —------- Want 30% off first order + up to $60 free gift at Thrive Market?
