Faithfully Thinking: Out Loud! | Peer Pressure Didn’t Disappear… It Just Got Polished

You know that moment. When something’s said… and something in you immediately goes: “That’s not right.” But instead of responding? You hesitate. You overthink. You tell yourself it’s not the right time. And then… you say nothing. This episode isn’t about learning more truth. It’s about understanding why, even when you know the truth… you still don’t always stand in it. We’re digging into: * why hesitation feels so strong * how pressure—both cultural and internal—shapes your response * the connection between teen peer pressure and adult silence * and how the Belt of Truth and Shield of Faith actually function in real time This isn’t about being louder. It’s about being anchored. Because you’re not confused. You’re hesitating. And once you recognize that? You can stop letting pressure make your decisions. Includes: * Real-life application (not theory) * Practical ways to respond without turning every moment into a debate * A high-energy anthem: “Not Going Along With It” * Tactical Armor segment you can actually use Bottom line: The enemy isn’t worried about what you know. He’s watching to see if you’ll actually stand in it. “Not Going Along With It” Verse 1 Used to feel that pressure in the middle of the crowdKnew it wasn’t right but I ain’t wanna stand outEverybody nodding like it all made senseAnd I’m thinking in my head, “Yeah, something’s off with this” Tried to play it cool, didn’t wanna make wavesDidn’t wanna be the one everybody calls braveSo I let it slide, yeah I let it pass byTruth hit my spirit but I kept it inside Pre-Chorus I hear it now, I see it clearThat quiet voice was never fearI won’t ignore what You made knownI’m not gonna stand here all alone Chorus I’m not going along with itNot this time, I’m done with itTruth don’t bend just to fit inI’m standing where You’ve already been I’m not backing down from itDon’t care who’s around for itIf it don’t line up, I won’t pretendI’m standing in truth to the end Verse 2 Now it’s dressed up nice, yeah it sounds refinedSame old pressure but a different kind“Don’t be divisive,” “don’t offend the room”But truth ain’t scared of a little tension, boom Call it wisdom but it feels like fearTryna keep the peace but the truth ain’t clearI ain’t here to argue, I ain’t here to shoutBut I’m not gonna sit while it all plays out Pre-Chorus (Female — Stronger) You showed me what is true and rightNot gonna hide it out of sightIf I stay silent, I agreeAnd that’s not who You called me to be Chorus (Full Energy) I’m not going along with itNot this time, I’m done with itTruth don’t bend just to fit inI’m standing where You’ve already been I’m not backing down from itDon’t care who’s around for itIf it don’t line up, I won’t pretendI’m standing in truth to the end Verse 3 Now I see that hesitation for what it isNot confusion—it’s fear tryin’ to play its tricksTried to dress it up like it’s wisdom and peaceBut it’s just tryin’ to keep my voice on mute at least I been quiet too long, I’m done with thatIf it don’t line up, I’m not goin’ backI don’t need to argue, I don’t need to shoutBut I’m not gonna sit while it all plays out Bridge Not confused — I just hesitatedNow I see it, I won’t fake itPressure loud but truth is louderStanding firm, I’m getting bolder Not alone, no not anymoreYou already won this warI don’t fight to earn my placeI stand in truth, I stand in grace Final Chorus I’m not going along with itNot this time, I’m done with itTruth stands firm, it don’t give inI’m anchored in the Son within I’m not backing down from itI know where I’m standing from itVictory’s already beenSo I’ll stand in truth again Outro Not confused… just hesitatedNow I see it… I won’t fake it Truth is clear… I’m not aloneI’m standing firm… I’m standing strong This is a public episode. Faithfully Thinking: Out Loud! | Episode 35: Armor Isn’t Supposed to Flap Like a Flag

Alright… quick question. Is your armor actually secure… or is it out here flapping in the breeze like a clearance rack windbreaker? Because if your “truth” changes depending on how you feel that day… that’s not armor. That’s a suggestion. And suggestions don’t hold up in a fight. So today? We’re doing a gear check. Because a Gospel you’ve edited for comfort won’t protect you under pressure. Let’s tighten this up. Lyrics: [Verse 1] Started out small, just a thought in your head“That don’t feel right…” what you quietly saidTrimmed one line, let another one slideDidn’t think twice, just adjusted your guide Didn’t walk away, didn’t throw it all outJust softened the edge, took the pressure downKept the parts that agree with your planLeft the ones that demand who you are as a man [Pre-Chorus] Now the ground don’t feel like it did beforeSomething shifted at your coreTruth don’t bend just to fit your willStand on it… or stand on skill [Chorus] Strap it tight—don’t let truth slipHold the line, don’t loosen your gripYou can’t fight right with a half-fit kitWhole Word, whole stand—strap it tight Strap it tight—this ain’t a gameTruth don’t move just to fit your frameWhen the pressure hits, you’ll feel that strainStand full, stand firm—strap it tight [Verse 2] “Did He really say?” yeah, same old schemeJust dressed it up in a cleaner themeNow it sounds wise, sounds real refinedBut it’s still that doubt just redefined You want peace without the cost of truthWant grace without the call to moveWant Christ without the weight He bringsBut the cross don’t bend for comfort things [Pre-Chorus] You can smooth it out, make it feel okayBut that don’t hold in the heat of dayTruth stands firm, don’t need your editYou don’t protect it—you just misread it [Chorus] Strap it tight—don’t let truth slipHold the line, don’t loosen your gripYou can’t fight right with a half-fit kitWhole Word, whole stand—strap it tight Strap it tight—this ain’t a gameTruth don’t move just to fit your frameWhen the pressure hits, you’ll feel that strainStand full, stand firm—strap it tight [Verse 3] Belt on truth or you drift off courseFaith gets weak when you shift the sourceSword gets dull when the edge gets trimmedNow you swingin’ words but they don’t cut sin Helmet loose when the Gospel’s changedNow salvation feels vague, rearrangedBreastplate light when “right” gets blurredNow you stand exposed with a filtered Word [Bridge] Whole truth—no edits, no cutsStand firm when the pressure comes upThis ain’t comfort, this is warAnd a loose strap won’t protect you anymore [Final Chorus ] Strap it tight—every piece in placeTruth don’t move, it holds your spaceWhen the battle hits, don’t lose your placeStand strong, stand ready—strap it tight Strap it tight—hold your groundLet the full Word anchor downWhen the enemy comes aroundYou’ll be ready… strap it tight [Outro] No edits. No shortcuts. No half-truths. Faithfully Thinking: Out Loud! | Episode 34: The Middle Is Where Most People Quit

Let’s talk about the part of faith nobody really prepares you for. You know… the part that doesn’t get a welcome party. Not the beginning. That part gets all the attention. New commitment. Fresh start. Everything feels clear, exciting, and full of momentum. You’re motivated, you’re focused, and you’re ready to go. And not the breakthrough. Because everybody loves that part. That’s the testimony moment. That’s the “God showed up and everything worked out” part. That’s what gets shared, celebrated, and posted. I’m talking about the middle. The forgotten part. The overlooked part. The middle child of your faith journey. No spotlight. No applause. No one checking in to see how your quiet obedience is going. Just you… and the part where it gets harder than you expected, takes longer than you planned, and quitting starts to sound surprisingly reasonable. That’s where most people walk away. Not because they couldn’t keep going. Because they didn’t realize what that moment actually was. This week, we’ve been breaking that down from every angle. And today? We’re putting it all together. Lyrics: [Intro ] Yeah… This the part they don’t talk about The middle Where quitting sounds reasonable Not today --- [Verse 1] Pressure hit, now the vibe done changed What felt clear don’t feel the same Got weight on my chest, got noise in my head Got ten good reasons to walk instead But I know that voice, yeah I heard that lie “Step back now, you can try next time” Nah, I see that play, I know that scheme You don’t want me here, you want me to leave --- [Pre-Chorus – rising intensity] But I’m still here, still in place Didn’t come this far just to lose my space You can press all day, I don’t break that way I already chose, I’ma stand and stay --- [Chorus – with gospel choir backing] I stand anyway (stand anyway) When it don’t feel right, I don’t walk away Through the doubt, through the weight, through the pressure I face I stand anyway (stand anyway) I stand anyway (stand anyway) Not by my might, but His strength in me Held in His will, yeah that’s where I stay I stand anyway --- [Verse 2] Middle of the fight, yeah this where it’s real Not hype no more, now it’s how I feel Got delay, got doubt, got time stretched thin Got questions creeping back in again But I’m not moved by what I see Truth don’t change just ‘cause it’s me Weak in the moment, strong in Him This ain’t the end, this where I dig in --- [Pre-Chorus] Feet on the ground, shield up high Faith don’t fold when the pressure rise I don’t need signs, I don’t need proof I know what He said, and I’m staying true --- [Chorus – choir stronger] I stand anyway (stand anyway) When it don’t feel right, I don’t walk away Through the doubt, through the weight, through the pressure I face I stand anyway (stand anyway) I stand anyway (stand anyway) Not by my might, but His strength in me Held in His will, yeah that’s where I stay I stand anyway --- [Bridge – slower, heavy] This that stay-in-place faith This that don’t-you-move grace This that middle-of-the-war Still-standing-in-Him place Enemy thought I’d break Thought I’d step back, fade But I’m rooted too deep I ain’t leaving this place --- [Verse 3 – final push] So bring that pressure, bring that heat Still ten toes, I don’t retreat This ground ain’t mine, this where He put me You gotta go through Him to move me And that ain’t happening, let’s be clear I’m not alone, He got me here So every lie can disappear I’m still standing, still right here --- [Final Chorus – full choir lift] I stand anyway (stand anyway) When it don’t feel right, I don’t walk away Through the doubt, through the weight, through the pressure I face I stand anyway (stand anyway) I stand anyway (stand anyway) Not by my might, but His strength in me Held in His will, yeah that’s where I stay I stand anyway --- [Outro – spoken, calm authority] Middle of the fight… Still standing. That’s the win. This is a public episode. If you'd like to discuss this with other subscribers or get access to bonus episodes, visit scbailey.substack.com/subscribe

Faithfully Thinking: Out Loud! | When You Know What to Do… But Don’t Do It”

There’s a moment most of us don’t think about… but we live in it every day. The moment between: knowing what to do… and actually doing it. This week, we talked about what happens after the resurrection. Not just what Jesus did— but what He asked us to do next. Because He didn’t just rise. He sent. And that’s where things get real. Not in the big, obvious moments. But in the small ones. The quiet ones. The ones where you feel that nudge… and then hesitate. This episode is about that moment. What’s actually happening in your thinking… why we pause… and how to move forward anyway. Not perfectly. But faithfully. Press play—and let’s walk this out together. Lyrics Title: He Stayed… So I Go [Verse 1]He saw the cross before the hillFelt every wound, yet chose the willThe weight of sin, the coming painStill walked it out, still bore my name He heard the lies, the mocking cryKnew every tear He’d justifyAnd love held fast, would not let goHe stayed for me… He chose to go [Chorus]He stayed… so I goThrough the fear, I still move forwardHe called… I knowI don’t walk this out alone He stayed… for meThrough the cross, through everythingNow I move… I obeyHe stayed… so I go [Verse 2]He could have called the heavens downRefused the nails, escaped the crownBut mercy stood where I should beAnd grace rewrote my history “It is finished,” heaven criedWhen death was crushed and darkness diedThe veil was torn, the way made clearAnd now His voice still calls me near [Chorus]He stayed… so I goThrough the fear, I still move forwardHe called… I knowI don’t walk this out alone He stayed… for meThrough the cross, through everythingNow I move… I obeyHe stayed… so I go [Verse 3]He walked out of the borrowed graveTurned fear into the faith that savesAnd spoke with calm authority“Now go and tell what you’ve seen in Me” And I will send My Spirit nearTo guide your steps, to meet you thereYou won’t walk out this call aloneMy presence goes, My power shown [Bridge]He knew my doubt, He knew my fearStill called me out, still drew me nearNot surprised by what I’d beStill chose to walk this out with me And when I fall, He won’t departHe holds the end, He knows the startThrough every step, through every scarHe finishes what He begins in us [Verse 4]And when I stand before His faceNot by my strength, but by His graceIf I endure, if I remainThrough every trial, through every strain I’ll see the scars that bought my lifeThe love that held Him through the nightAnd hear Him say, with open arms“Well done… you trusted through it all.” [Final Chorus – Bigger]He stayed… so I goThrough the fear, I still move forwardHe called… I knowI don’t walk this out alone He stayed… for meThrough the cross, through everythingNow I move… I obeyHe stayed… so I go This is a public episode. Faithfully Thinking: Out Loud! | So Now What? Living Like It’s Finished

We love saying: “It is finished.” What we don’t love? Living like it is. Because apparently… Jesus finished the work… and we decided to reopen the project. Still trying to fix ourselves.Still trying to earn something.Still acting like the outcome is undecided. That’s not faith. That’s confusion. Let’s talk about it. Lyrics: “Live Like It’s Finished” [Intro — soft, spoken over music] It didn’t look like victory… But it was. [Verse 1] We heard the words, we know the line“It is finished” every timeBut still we wake and still we striveLike something’s left to bring to life We carry weight we shouldn’t holdTry to earn what we’ve been toldWas settled there on CalvaryBut we don’t live like we are free [Pre-Chorus] What if it’s true…Nothing’s undone? [Chorus] Then I will live like it’s finishedStand like the battle is wonThink from the truth You establishedNot from the lies that I’ve known No more striving to prove itNo more fear in the fightYou said it once—and You meant itSo I will stand in Your life [Verse 2] When pressure hits and doubts come inAnd old thoughts start their noise againI won’t go back to who I wasI stand in who You say I am Not based on what I feel todayNot on the moves I’ve made or madeBut on the work that You declaredComplete before I even cared [Pre-Chorus] What You have said…Still stands as done [Chorus] So I will live like it’s finishedStand like the battle is wonThink from the truth You establishedNot from the lies that I’ve known No more striving to prove itNo more fear in the fightYou said it once—and You meant itSo I will stand in Your life [Bridge — build authority] Truth is my anchor, I won’t drift awayRighteousness guards me, I’m steady in placeI’m not rebuilding what You made completeI’m standing firm in the finished decree No more confusion, no more retreatVictory’s mine ‘cause You claimed it for meI’m not behind, I’m not undoneI stand right here where the work was won It didn’t look like victory… [Final Chorus — bigger, stronger] But I will live like it’s finishedStand like the battle is wonDeath couldn’t hold what You startedThe grave couldn’t silence the Son Now the stone has been rolled backNow the light floods the dayWhat was sealed in the silenceNow is risen in power and praise [Outro — Call & Response] He is risen! [Background / Crowd Response]He is risen, indeed! [Repeat — stronger] He is risen! [Response]He is risen, indeed! This is a public episode. Faithfully Thinking: Out Loud! | When Peace Comes After the Yes

There are moments in Scripture that are hard to read. Not because they’re confusing… but because they’re heavy. Gethsemane is one of those moments. Especially this time of year—right after Good Friday and just before Resurrection Sunday—when the reality of what Jesus endured isn’t abstract anymore. It’s personal. It’s weighty. And if you sit with it for even a few minutes, you start to realize something most of us don’t think about enough: Before the cross… there was a decision. Jesus knew exactly what was coming. The suffering. The humiliation. The cost of carrying sin. And in that moment, He didn’t pretend it was easy. He didn’t rush past it. He said: “If there is another way…” That’s not weakness. That’s honesty under pressure. And then— He chose surrender anyway. “Not My will… but Yours be done.” This week’s episode of Faithfully Thinking: Out Loud steps into that moment. Because most of us have been taught to expect peace before we obey. But Gethsemane shows us something different. Sometimes the pressure comes first. And the peace follows the decision. If you’ve ever wrestled with doing what you know is right… If you’ve ever felt the weight of obedience… If you’ve ever waited to feel ready before taking the next step— this episode is for you. Press play. Let’s step into the garden together. Lyrics [Intro – low piano, heartbeat rhythm] In the garden, in the silenceWhere the weight began to fallEvery breath was filled with knowingHe would have to give it all [Verse 1] There was sorrow in the stillnessThere was anguish in the nightSweat like blood beneath the burdenOf the coming sacrifice Every step was drawing closerTo a cost no one could seeYet He stood there in the tensionChoosing truth over relief [Pre-Chorus] If this cup could pass awayStill He chose to stayNot a moment turning backNot a step astray [Chorus] Hold the lineStand in truthWhen the pressure’s closing in on you Hold the lineDon’t give groundEven when the weight is pulling down He has walked this road beforeHe has borne the greater war Hold the lineStand firm nowYou are held—don’t break, don’t bow [Verse 2] You will feel it in your spiritThat resistance in your chestWhere obedience feels heavyAnd surrender feels like death You’ll be tempted to go sidewaysFind a softer way throughBut the truth is still before youClear and steady—calling you [Pre-Chorus] Not the easy path you seeBut the one that leadsThrough the fire, through the costTo eternity [Chorus] Hold the lineStand in truthWhen the pressure’s closing in on you Hold the lineDon’t give groundEven when the weight is pulling down He has walked this road beforeHe has borne the greater war Hold the lineStand firm nowYou are held—don’t break, don’t bow [Verse 3] What you carry in this momentFeels like more than you can standBut you’re not beneath the full weightThat was placed upon His hands Every sin and every sorrowEvery debt you could not payHe has already stood beneath itSo you don’t have to break [Bridge – build strong] Lift your eyesFix your gazeOn the One who made a way Through the nightThrough the strainThrough the blood and through the pain Truth remainsIt won’t bendStand your ground until the end [Final Chorus – full power] Hold the lineStand in truthWhen the pressure’s closing in on you Hold the lineDon’t give groundEven when the weight is pulling down He has walked this road beforeHe has won the final war Hold the lineStand firm nowYou are His—don’t break, don’t bow [Outro – resolve] Stand. Faithfully Thinking: Out Loud! | Episode 30: Why God’s Cure Is Simpler Than We Expect

There are certain moments in Scripture that make you stop and reread the passage because it feels… unusual. Numbers 21 is definitely one of those moments. Israel complains about the food God has been providing.Venomous serpents appear in the camp. And the cure God provides sounds almost strange at first. A bronze serpent on a pole. Look at it… and live. It’s the kind of moment where modern readers tend to pause and say, “Wait… what?” But then Jesus does something remarkable. In John 3, while speaking to Nicodemus, He points directly back to that moment and says it was pointing to Him all along. Suddenly the story isn’t just about snakes in the desert anymore. It’s about the cure for humanity’s deepest problem being lifted high for the world to see. So today we’re going to explore that connection — what it meant in the wilderness, what it means at the cross, and why the instruction that still echoes through Scripture is surprisingly simple. Lift your eyes. Lyrics [Intro]When the desert wind is risingAnd the camp is filled with fearWhen the shadows whisper loudlyThat the end is drawing near There’s a voice that cuts the chaosThrough the storm and through the sandNot a shout of desperationBut a quiet firm command [Verse 1]They were weary from the journeyEvery step felt twice as longManna falling from the heavensStill they said that God was wrong Then the serpents came like lightningThrough the tents of restless criesBut the cure was lifted higherAnd the call was clear Lift your eyes [Chorus]Lift your eyes and standTrust the Father’s handWhen the night surrounds the landLift your eyes and stand The battle may be ragingBut the victory is plannedSo when the fear comes crashing inLift your eyes and stand [Verse 2]In a garden under moonlightWhere the olive branches swayThe Son knelt down in silenceKnowing what the dawn would say Not my will but Yours foreverThough the cross was close at handAnd surrender lit the pathwayTo the promise God had planned [Chorus]Lift your eyes and standTrust the Father’s handWhen the night surrounds the landLift your eyes and stand The battle may be ragingBut the victory is plannedSo when the fear comes crashing inLift your eyes and stand [Verse 3]Now the world is full of serpentsFull of voices full of liesTrying hard to keep believersLooking down instead of wise But the cross still stands above usLike a banner in the skyAnd the cure for every broken heartWas lifted up on high [Bridge]Lay your weapons down tonightLet the King step in and fightGrace is stronger than the graveChrist alone has power to save Storms may roar and kingdoms fallStill His mercy conquers all [Final Chorus]Lift your eyes and standTrust the Father’s handThrough the fire across the landLift your eyes and stand The cross above the battlefieldIs where the war was plannedSo when the darkness closes inLift your eyes and stand [Outro]Lift your eyesLift your eyes The cure has already risenThe victory already won Stand. Faithfully Thinking: Out Loud! | Episode 29 - Stand in the Test

Some battles don’t show up with flashing warning lights. They show up quietly. A whisper of doubt.A moment of pressure.A question about whether you really belong where God placed you. Scripture has a word for those moments: peirasmos. It’s the moment where testing and temptation collide. The same situation can strengthen faith… or try to derail it. And if you’ve ever wondered why wilderness seasons feel so intense, this episode explores exactly what’s happening there — why identity becomes the enemy’s favorite target, why Jesus answered temptation with Scripture, and how the Armor of God actually equips believers to stand firm when pressure rises. Because the wilderness doesn’t determine who you are. It reveals whether you believe what God already said. So armor up. Let’s step onto the battlefield together. Lyrics: Stand and Remember Intro (spoken tone if desired) The wilderness may test the heart…but it cannot rewrite what heaven already said. Verse 1 The desert wind is risingQuestions fill the airShadows start whispering“Does God still care?” But truth was spoken clearlyLong before the fightHeaven named my identityIn the Father’s light Chorus I will stand and rememberWho You say I amTruth becomes my armorAnd Your Word my standWhen the storm is pressingAnd the lies confessI will stand in the armorI will stand in the test Verse 2 The tempter tries to twist it“Prove that you belong”But sons and daughters of the KingDon’t have to prove Him wrong The helmet guards the promiseFaith lifts up the shieldAnd every word You’ve spokenBecomes the sword I wield Chorus I will stand and rememberWho You say I amTruth becomes my armorAnd Your Word my standWhen the storm is pressingAnd the lies confessI will stand in the armorI will stand in the test Verse 3 The wilderness may questionBut heaven speaks againIdentity unshakenBeyond the reach of men No desert can eraseWhat mercy has addressedThe children of the kingdomAre the ones who stand the test Bridge Truth around meFaith before meRighteousness upon my chest Peace beneath meWord within meArmor strong within the test Final Chorus I will stand and rememberWho You say I amTruth becomes my armorAnd Your Word my standThrough the fire, through the desertThrough the storm’s unrestI will stand in the armorI will stand in the test Outro The wilderness may question…But heaven has already answered. Battle Cry Stand firm. Not in your circumstances. Not in your emotions. Stand in the truth God has already spoken. When the wilderness questions your identity… remember what heaven declared. You are His. When temptation whispers shortcuts… remember the Word that guides your steps. Truth is still stronger than lies. So armor up. Hold the line. And remember: The enemy hates it when believers know what they’re doing. This is a public episode.
