EP 26: From Seeing Colours to Professional Readings

What happens when the child who sees spirits grows up, tries to shut it all down, and eventually finds himself standing on platform as a professional medium? In this episode of Diary of a Medium: Stories from the Spirit World, I’m joined by evidential medium Dylan Fenwick, who shares his journey from seeing white orbs and hearing spirit as a young child in New Zealand, to moving across the world and eventually finding his way back to mediumship. We talk about what his development actually looked like behind the scenes, including the nerves, the self-doubt, the readings where he wondered if he was getting anything right, and why simply continuing to show up became such an important part of building his confidence. Dylan also shares how structured practice and honest sitter feedback helped him move from development circles into professional readings, and why you don’t necessarily need to spend years telling yourself you’re “still a beginner” before you start trusting what you can do. This is a conversation about mediumship, but it’s also about following the pull, even when you have absolutely no idea where it’s taking you. What You’ll Hear Dylan’s first experiences of seeing orbs and hearing spirit from around three years old Why he eventually shut down his awareness during his teenage years The unexpected visit to a Spiritualist church that reignited his curiosity How his mediumship started with something as simple as seeing colours and pictures Why showing up consistently mattered more than waiting until he felt confident His experience moving between different development circles and realising he needed more structure How practising with real sitters and receiving tangible feedback accelerated his development The point where he realised he was ready to begin offering professional readings Why the fear of not getting a connection doesn’t have to stop you from doing this work Dylan’s journey from working in insurance to becoming a full-time evidential medium Why clear evidence matters when bringing through a loved one A powerful reading involving a mother wanting to connect with her son Why mediums need to give the information they receive rather than trying to interpret the whole story The responsibility we carry when working with grief, loss and sensitive information Why mediumship should ultimately come back to healing, evidence and service Who This Episode Is For This episode is for you if you’ve felt drawn to mediumship but keep wondering whether you’re experienced enough, developed enough or getting enough information to take yourself seriously. It’s also for developing mediums who have spent time jumping between circles, teachers and different ways of working and are starting to realise that more information isn’t always the answer. Sometimes what changes everything is structure, practice, feedback and being willing to actually use what you already have. And if you’ve ever thought everyone else must be receiving huge, unmistakable signs from Spirit while you’re getting a colour, a picture or one tiny piece of information, Dylan’s journey might change how you look at your own development. Ep 23 Healing or Harm? When a Psychic Prediction Impacts Your Life

What happens when a psychic prediction follows you for decades? In this powerful and deeply honest conversation, Em is joined by Canadian psychic medium Shelley Murray to explore a side of mediumship that isn't spoken about nearly enough — the lasting impact of unethical readings. After losing her first husband, Andrew, in a tragic accident when she was just 29 years old with two young boys, Shelley sought comfort and connection through mediumship. During one reading, a psychic made a prediction that would remain with her for years: that she would become a widow for a second time and that her future husband would die in his 43rd year. What followed was decades of carrying a fear she never asked for. Together, Em and Shelley unpack the responsibility mediums have when working with vulnerable people, the difference between guidance and prediction, and why ethical mediumship matters more than ever. This is a conversation about grief, healing, personal responsibility, free will, and the sacred nature of mediumship. • Shelley's heartbreaking story of losing her first husband at a young age • Why grief often leads people to seek out psychic mediums • The psychic prediction that impacted Shelley's life for decades • How fear can quietly shape relationships and future decisions • Why predictive readings can be harmful and disempowering • The role of free will in shaping our lives and future timelines • The importance of discernment when receiving information from Spirit • Why ethical mediumship is about healing, not shock value • The responsibility mediums have when working with vulnerable clients • How personal development and self-awareness strengthen mediumship • The difference between being Spirit-led and fear-led • Why mediumship should leave people feeling empowered, supported, and hopeful This episode is for you if: • You've ever received a psychic prediction that left you feeling fearful or anxious • You're grieving the loss of someone you love • You're developing your own psychic or mediumship abilities • You're looking for an ethical approach to spiritual work • You want to understand the deeper responsibility that comes with mediumship • You believe mediumship is ultimately about healing and connection Shelley Murray is a psychic medium, Reiki practitioner, certified yoga and meditation teacher, wife, mother, old soul, and proud crone. Having worked with Spirit for almost 30 years, Shelley is known for her grounded, compassionate approach to mediumship. Her intention is always to leave people feeling uplifted, enlightened, and empowered through their connection with Spirit. Her work is built on integrity, authenticity, and a deep respect for the sacred relationship between Spirit, medium, and recipient. 🌐 https://emstawicki.com ✨ Explore your spiritual gifts with me: https://emstawicki.com/mentoring Have a story from the Spirit World? Ep22 How I Lost My Marriage and Found My Purpose

What happens when the life you've built no longer feels aligned, but you're too afraid to walk away? In this powerful conversation, Em sits down with psychic medium, Akashic Records reader, and spiritual mentor Samantha Liew (Samantha the Clair) to explore the unexpected journey that led her into the spiritual world. From hearing a mysterious female voice throughout childhood and dismissing her intuitive gifts for years, to navigating a difficult marriage, discovering her husband's affair, and experiencing a profound spiritual awakening, Samantha shares how one of the darkest periods of her life became the catalyst for everything she has today. Together, Em and Samantha explore intuition, spiritual awakenings, trusting the signs from Spirit, and how life's biggest challenges often become the doorway to our greatest purpose. If you've ever questioned your intuition, ignored the nudges, or felt like life was falling apart around you, this episode is a reminder that sometimes Spirit is quietly guiding you toward something far greater than you can currently see. What You'll Hear: • Samantha's childhood experiences hearing a mysterious female voice calling her name • Why so many intuitive people convince themselves they're "making it all up" • The spiritual signs that appeared before her life changed dramatically • How her divorce became the catalyst for a powerful spiritual awakening • The surprising way Spirit revealed her husband's affair • Learning to trust intuitive nudges after years of self-doubt • How tarot became the first doorway into developing her gifts • Discovering the Akashic Records and unlocking deeper psychic abilities • The leap from corporate life into full-time spiritual work • Why the universe often responds once we make a clear decision • Spiritual awakenings, healing, and finding purpose after heartbreak • The importance of creating safe spaces for people exploring their gifts • How our greatest challenges often become our greatest teachers • Following the breadcrumbs Spirit places along our path Who For: This episode is for anyone who: • Has experienced a spiritual awakening • Feels stuck between what is familiar and what is calling them forward • Has ignored their intuition and wishes they had listened sooner • Is navigating a major life transition, separation, or divorce • Feels drawn to develop their psychic or spiritual gifts • Wants reassurance that life can become more aligned after difficult endings • Loves hearing authentic stories of transformation and spiritual growth Connect with Samantha:Instagram & TikTok: @samanthatheclairWebsite: www.samanthatheclair.comEmail: admin@samanthatheclair.com Resources + Connect With Em 🌐 https://emstawicki.com/ ✨ Explore your spiritual gifts with me: https://emstawicki.com/mentoring Listener Invitation: Have a story from the Spirit World? Ep19 When Readings Cause More Harm Than Healing

This episode dives deep into the real responsibility of being a medium. We unpack what happens when mediums avoid ownership, rely too heavily on the sitter’s energy, or cross ethical lines that can leave lasting impact. From being told your energy is “flat,” to the dangerous effects of fear-based readings, this conversation challenges the way mediumship is often practiced. We also go into the practical side — how to open and close a reading, how to hold authority in your connection, and how to blend with spirit in a way that brings through real presence, not just information. This is about stepping into mediumship as a healing modality, not performance. Why the connection is always the medium’s responsibility — not the sitter’sThe difference between psychic reading vs mediumship (and why mixing them creates confusion)What’s actually happening when someone says a sitter is “hard to read”How lack of self-responsibility shows up in mediumshipThe subtle (but critical) difference between facts vs presence in a readingWhy some readings can create harm instead of healingA real example of how fear-based information can deeply affect someone’s lifeThe importance of ethical boundaries and emotional safety in readingsHow to open a reading in a way that builds trust and connectionHow to close a reading with intention, care, and completenessWhat “blending with spirit” actually means — and how to feel itWhy your job isn’t just to prove spirit… it’s to bring them to lifeThis episode is for you if: You’re developing your mediumship and want to do it properly, ethically, and powerfullyYou’ve ever doubted yourself because of feedback from othersYou’re ready to stop outsourcing your authority and own your connectionYou want to move beyond surface-level readings into true healing workYou feel called to raise the standard of mediumship — not follow outdated rules🌐 https://emstawicki.com/podcast Explore your spiritual gifts with me → https://emstawicki.com/mentoring Have a story from the Spirit World?
