How do you cope when life feels overwhelming? Sometimes, the answer isn't to push harder, do more or try to get everything back on track. Sometimes, it's to pause, take stock and give yourself permission to reset. In this episode of Root to Resilience, I'm sharing a personal check-in after taking around three months away from the podcast, and reflecting on what happens when we make space for the life we're working so hard to build. Earlier this year, I set myself three intentions: Presence over pressure, Trust over worry, and Self-respect over burnout. In this episode, I revisit those intentions and explore what they've taught me about resilience, wellbeing and the importance of being intentional about how we live and work. Taking time away allowed me to be present for important moments with loved ones, celebrate milestones and step back from the pressure of constantly working towards the next goal. It also reminded me that the work we've already done can continue to create opportunities, even when we're not actively pushing forward. And I've noticed something else: whenever I give myself breathing space, my creativity seems to have room to return. So, if you've been feeling overwhelmed, stuck in a cycle of doing more, or struggling to balance your ambitions with your wellbeing, this episode is an invitation to pause and find a different way forward. In this episode, we explore: Why a resilience reset matters: recognising when you need to pause rather than push harder. The power of setting intentions: how choosing the way you want to approach life can help guide your decisions and actions.Presence over pressure: slowing down, noticing where you are and making space for what matters.Naming what's overwhelming you: bringing clarity to the challenges and pressures you're carrying.Trust over worry: focusing on what you can influence instead of trying to control everything.Self-respect over burnout: reconnecting with your values and recognising when you need to protect your energy. The power of one small next step: finding a manageable way forward when everything feels like too much.Making space for creativity: why stepping back can give fresh ideas, perspective and inspiration room to emerge. The five steps to your Resilience Reset When life feels overwhelming, start here: Pause and notice where you are.
