The Beatles' Help! ranked with Steven McDonald (Redd Kross) and Robbie Rist (Brady Bunch)

What’s your most loved and least favorite song on the fifth Beatles album, Help?!  Battle of the Child Stars™ with Steven McDonald (Redd Kross, the Melvins, Tater Totz) and actor/musician Robbie Rist (Brady Bunch, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & the best Chips episode). Robbie is a well-known Beatlefan agitator and Steven is famously pro-Fabs thanks to many Redd Kross Beatles covers and the infamous Tater Totz Beatlefest appearance. Tons of mutual admiration and good-natured quarreling. I knew they'd have a LOT to say and I was right. Four and a half hours right. I got the best stuff under three hours (you're welcome) but there's tons of fun you'll hear when we put the whole thing up someday (watch this space). Muffs bassist Ronnie Barnett drops by as a surprise guest too!  Listen at QuarrelmenPod.com, Apple, Spotify, Youtube and the Swiss Alps. Beatles For Sale ranked with John Craigie and James Partridge

What’s your most loved and least favorite song on the fourth Beatles album, Beatles For Sale?!  We are SO happy to finally release this 2024 chat with England's greatest tour manager, James Partridge, and John Craigie, whose beautifully spare tunes and famed one-man Beatle shows have been enrapturing audiences worldwide for ages. While driving Stones n Roses to record at Abbey Road studios, Adam asked James which album he would choose if he were a guest and, by choosing B4S, cemented his place on our roster. He'd been playing the band John Craigie's hilarious live recordings on tour the same 2017 summer that Craigie started doing the quietest, funniest Beatles cover shows of all-time. You can hear it for yourself because Revolver Alone is streaming online since we recorded this. John and James (not to be confused with John and James Paul) crowbarred in this lively long distance Beatles chat while on tour near Brighton, England. The Beatles - A Hard Day’s Night ranked with Jon Wurster

What’s your most loved and least favorite song on the third Beatles album, A Hard Day's Night?!  After episodes recorded with huge fans AT Abbey Road Studios followed by a chat with the founders of a Beatles Museum, we bring in someone who has never owned a Beatles record(!), musician/comedian Jon Wurster from Superchunk, Bob Mould's band, the Mountain Goats and the Best Show. He agreed to rank the last album not  chosen by our other guests, which surprisingly turned out to be the soundtrack for the hit 1964 film. Because he's our only "solo" ranker, we got three guests  to chime in with their favorites: Vicki Peterson from the Bangles, Scott McCaughey from the Minus Five and REM's Peter Buck! Jon's hilarious tales, music knowledge, rookie Beatle ears and natural curiosity makes for a super fun, unique listen. Sorry/not sorry for a TON of non-Beatles talk. 4. The Beatles - With The Beatles ranked with Mike and Bernadette Byrne, Beatles Story Museum, Liverpool

The Beatles - With The Beatles ranked with Mike and Bernadette Byrne, Beatles Story Museum, Liverpool

What’s your most loved and least favorite song on the second Beatles album?! We return with more British guests: Mike and Bernadette Byrne, who created the amazing Beatles Story Museum on the docks of Liverpool. Usually the ranking takes up most of our show but these two have an unbelievable history of knowing, dating and immortalizing the band. Bernadette dated both Paul AND George(!) and Mike was a longtime Liverpudlian musician for decades before giving Beatle tours and eventually starting the biggest hometown shrine to the band. We thought no one could out-cute 10 year old George from our first episode but the Byrnes are the most adorable couple in England or anywhere else. They even ranked With The Beatles TOGETHER as a team instead of quarreling! Their fantastic book, the Birth of the Beatles Story, is full of many more first-hand tales from the early days of the Liverpool scene that have become famous worldwide. 5. Please Please Me ranked at Abbey Road Studios with Richard, Frank and George Merrett

Please Please Me ranked at Abbey Road Studios with Richard, Frank and George Merrett

DEBUT EPISODE ! What’s your most loved and least favorite song on the first Beatles album?! One, two, three, FAH! The Quarrelmen Beatles podcast miniseries kicks off with England's own Richard Merrett (Airhead/the Wilsons) and his young sons Frank and George Merrett ranking Please Please Me in the most famous studio in the world.  Recorded back in 2021 at the end of the last Stones n' Roses UK tour, the California band recorded a version of "Revolution 9" with 1960s microphones used by "the boys" and Beatles Anthology, Rock Band and Love engineer Chris Bolster with Joe Wyatt (now Giles Martin's assistant). After a quick photoshoot of the band walking across THE street, singer Adam Gimbel welcomed the Merretts into the cozy Gatehouse studio to record the very first episode of the Quarrelmen. He had no idea it would be four busy, crazy years before the world would hear it. The kids are now senior citizens. The results are, quite simply, the most endearing Beatles podcast episode ever immortalized at Abbey Road....or anywhere else. Decades of fandom and childlike wonder collide with memories and a ranking of least and most favorites on the 1963 classic debut. Listen at QuarrelmenPod.com, Apple, Spotify, Youtube and...a place.
