The Writer of this great song was on her way to a Revival Service with a friend when an unusually beautiful sunset appeared. She described seeing brilliant colors she had never seen before in her lifetime. For a split second, she even saw what looked like the distinct shapes of angels moving across the sky. Overwhelmed by emotion, she realized that she was too distracted to drive so she pulled off the road and had her friend drive. She then began to compose the words and melody in her mind. She thought of the wonderful prospect of Jesus, "coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory" (Matthew 24:30).
