    TGSGTE #15 - Nietzsche Homo

    Listener, I have to be upfront with you. If you don't want to hear us talk about eating poop and child sexual assault for an hour and a half, I can't recommend this year's TGSGTE Halloween Spooktacular, in which we watch the classic Italian horror film, Epstein Island: The Movie. Sorry, I mean Salò, or 120 Days of Sodom! But if you, like us, are willing to wade through the fascist filth on display, you're gonna have a grand old time yukkin' it up (and yucking it up) with us! Released in the 1970's immediately after some right-wing monster murdered the director, Salò dramatizes the final days of the fascist occupation of Italy, showing various Nietzsche-and-Hitler-loving "libertines" in their natural habitat: all-powerful, pompous, soon-to-die, and kidnapping children off the street in order to torture them in pursuit of the ultimate fascist sensual delicacy. (It's poop and death, it turns out. What a shock.) Why did we watch this? Good question! But we did and now it's watched. And, hey, if you don't want to watch it too because it's two hours of torture, may I recommend instead our incisive commentary in this year's TGSGTE Halloween Spooktacular?? We round out our reading of The History of White People by examining the most advanced form of European depravity ever put to film. It's Salò, or the special Halloween edition of our spookiest format, Same as It Ever Was!

    This week, we're in a horrifying new place, listener: The Eating Disorder Zone! A strange and extremely familiar time that takes place in American history right before the Civil Rights Movement forces white America to examine itself. A time in which every TV and movie showed happy, Aryan, small-town America with all the slavery and war just offscreen.     HWP #25 - Operation Yglesias

    This week, listener, we get into some good old fashioned American propaganda. In this case, that all real Americans are actually immigrants, so we should love every immigrant [Europeans only]. Is this progress? Eh, sort of. Does it fall so short of actual cultural pluralism that to look back at it seems quaint and kind of evil? Sure does! Was it quaint and kind of evil at the time? You betcha! These new immigrants from the post-World-War-1 era of European austerity and collapse, called "dung," were at the forefront of the New Deal era coalition and, as World War 2 drew close, actively reporting on the atrocities they were fleeing across Europe. Americans didn't like how much their society resembled Nazi society, so they invented an idea of plurality, without changing the underlying social relations that keeps hate alive.     HWP #24 - Roman Prejudice and the Permanent 9-11 Economy

    This is it listener, we get the part where some academics went, "hey, this race science crap is nothing. It's, like, based on prejudice. What the heck???" And yet they still did not give up on race being real. See, in America, race science doesn't die because the whole system is set against the people who could tell you the truth of it. Like Black people, for example. And yet, America came a little bit 'round on the concept of race, starting to dismiss it once the Nazis slaughtered lighter-skinned people en masse. But hey, we were starting to get there. And history being the nasty business it is, we can say that this chapter inaugurates a new era of horrifying pseudo-race pseudo-science.
