Konversations with Kui is a safe space for hard truths and radical vulnerability, where we have real conversations about the lives we're living. It is an intimate podcast that holds space for candid, nuanced, and often-unspoken conversations among mature African women and men—both on the continent and in the diaspora. Through dialogue and reflective solo episodes, Dr. Kũi Mũraya invites listeners to explore themes of identity, freedom, faith & spirituality, family, love, grief, parenthood and more; with honesty and vulnerability. This podcast is Kũi's personal offering—her way of ushering in a new season of life with intentionality, softness, and truth.     In this first episode of Season 2 of Konversations with Kui, our host Dr Kũi Mũraya shares a deeply personal experience on what happens when the workplace you once thrived in becomes a source of emotional and mental exhaustion? Kũi opens up about her personal experience with workplace bullying and the difficult decision to leave a job she had once found meaningful. She reflects on the power dynamics that can make workplace bullying difficult to name or challenge, her experience as a Black African woman, and the complicated ways race, gender and power can shape our experiences at work. In this solo, Kũi shares how this experience gave her the courage to choose self and how leaving a toxic workplace gave her the space to rest, heal, rediscover her creativity and begin imagining a different path.
