    My Knee Split Open. But What Broke Inside Me Was Worse.

    What happens when you can no longer do the things that make you feel worthy of being loved? i thought the worst part of my accident was seeing my knee split wide open, blood everywhere, and ending up in the ER. i was wrong. The real pain came when i couldn't run, couldn't work out, couldn't be productive, and suddenly felt like i had no purpose. And that's what scared me the most. Because somewhere deep inside, i still believed that if i wasn't doing enough, i wasn't worth enough. i knew Jesus loved me. i knew my worth was in Him. i could quote the Scriptures. So why did i still feel worthless the moment i had nothing to offer? Turns out, my knee wasn't the only wound that needed healing. One was from falling on a rock. The other was from growing up believing love had to be earned. In this very personal episode of Unspoken with aggie park, i share how one painful accident exposed a childhood wound i didn't even realize was still controlling me. Somewhere along the way, i'd learned that being loved meant being useful. That i had to achieve more, work harder, push myself further, and basically exhaust myself just to feel like i mattered. And the crazy part? i didn't even realize how deeply i believed that lie. We get into the messy connection between childhood wounds, perfectionism, disordered eating, overworking, and that exhausting belief that you have to earn your rest, your food, and even your worth. And here's what really got me. i wasn't exactly running to Jesus during all of this. i was frustrated, feeling sorry for myself, scrolling, watching TV, and honestly avoiding Him. But He came looking for me anyway. Because you can know every Bible verse about God's love and still live like you're desperately trying to earn it. Why doing nothing can make you feel like you're worth nothing. How childhood wounds can make achievement feel like survival. Why knowing God's truth doesn't always mean your heart believes it. How we learn to treat rest, food, and love like rewards we have to earn. Why sometimes the thing God wants to heal isn't the thing that hurts. Maybe instead of only asking, “God, why did You let this happen?” we need to start asking something else too: “Jesus, what is this bringing to the surface that i've been too afraid to face?” Because sometimes the scar doesn't mark where healing ended. It marks where healing finally began.     Tammy’s story honestly stopped me for a minute. She was abandoned by her birth mother at two years old. Then at just 22, she was sent to prison for a murder she did not commit. And she stayed there for 30 years. Just sit with that for a second. Thirty years of your life behind bars for something you did not do.Thirty years carrying an accusation.Thirty years with every reason to become bitter, angry, numb, or hopeless. And yet Tammy told me something i haven’t stopped thinking about: “Prison became my testimony.” Because somewhere behind those walls, Jesus started doing a different kind of freeing. He began healing the little girl who felt unwanted.The woman who felt condemned.The person the world had reduced to a prison number. And that’s what this episode is really about.     What Happens When You Bury the Hurt? Trauma, Church Hurt, Healing & Jesus | Latoya Alston Latoya Alston knew how to look okay while quietly falling apart. She survived sexual assault by someone she trusted, abuse in relationships, shame, and the kind of church hurt that can make you question whether the people who talk about God are actually safe. Growing up as a preacher’s kid, she learned how to smile, serve, encourage everyone else—and bury the parts of herself that were bleeding underneath. Eventually, the pain got so heavy that Latoya stepped away from church. But Jesus didn’t step away from her. He met her angry. Confused. Exhausted. Hurt. Unpolished.     Some stories are hard to tell because of what was done tous. Others are hard to tell because of what we did ourselves. Cecily’s storycarries both. In this conversation, we talk about sexual assault,adultery, shame, guilt, repentance, church hurt, and the parts of healing that are not neat or quick. Cecily shares with so much honesty about the shame she carried after being violated, and also the shame she carried after making choices she deeply regretted. What i love about her story is that she does not excuse what happened to her, and she does not excuse what she did either. She brings both into the light. And that is where Jesus met her. We talk about what it feels like to believe you are dirtybecause of what someone did to you, or unforgivable because of what you did. We talk about trying to earn back God’s love, about the church sometimes rushing people through healing, and about learning that repentance and grace can exist in the same story. This one is for anyone who has ever thought, if people really knew everything about me, they would see me differently. Jesus already knows. And He is still not done with you. Cecily’s story is such a beautiful reminder that shame maybe loud, consequences may be real, and healing may take longer than we want—but none of those things are stronger than the cross.     No More Shame, No More Silence: Jesus Redeemed the Wounds i Tried to Hide | Unspoken With aggie park Season 3

    Season 3 of Unspoken with aggie park is here! To start off this new season, I am sharing one of the most shameful parts of my story. In this episode, I share pieces of a season in my life where rejection, abandonment, and brokenness made me crave love so deeply that it didn't matter who it came from, how it came, or how old they were. My mom left the country to do her own thing. Later, my first boyfriend took my college money. When my dad found out, my passport was taken away, and I was basically imprisoned in the house for a year — yelled at, shamed, and humiliated in private and in public. And then, after all of that, what started as a business relationship with an almost 40-year-old man slowly turned into something confusing, painful, inappropriate, and deeply shameful for my younger 20-year-old self. This episode is about the kind of pain that tricked me into believing being used was the same thing as being loved… and the kind of Jesus who met me there without disgust, without condemnation, and without ever calling me too far gone. It's about what happens when you are so desperate to feel wanted, loved, and wanted that you ignore the warning signs. It's about the shame that tells you to stay silent. But more than anything, this episode is about Jesus. The Jesus who did not turn away from the ugliest parts of my story. The Jesus who did not shame me in the places people would have. The Jesus who stepped into the middle of my mess and covered it with His blood, His mercy, His healing, and His redemption. This is not a neat, polished, church-approved testimony. This is raw. This is real. This is redeemed. And if you have ever believed your story was too messy, too shameful, too far gone, or too broken for Jesus to touch, this episode is for you. His love reaches there too. His blood covers that too.
