    Brother Beat w/ Christian Carter

BROTHER BEAR with Christian Carter 🐻 What happens when addiction becomes part of your story before you’re even old enough to understand what it is? In this episode of Mondays Are A Mother, we sit down with Christian Carter for a deeply personal conversation about addiction, family, recovery, and identity. Christian takes us back to the earliest moments he can remember being aware of addiction and the ways it shaped his life and impacted his family—especially his sister. He shares his own journey, the realities of finding his way through addiction, and what recovery has meant for him. We also dive into something that doesn’t always get talked about: growing up biracial in a small town, looking like everyone around you while simultaneously feeling different. What does it mean to find yourself when you don’t always feel like you fit neatly into the world around you? This conversation is about more than addiction. It’s about family. Identity. Belonging. Breaking cycles. And learning that sometimes the things that make us feel different are the very things that make our stories worth telling. Come sit with us for Brother Bear. 🐻 🎧 New episode of Mondays Are A Mother. . merch now available with Kaylee’s Creation IG :https://www.instagram.com/kayleescreations2019?stkn=NDd1MG1vc3ZrcTNz Listen here: https://rss.com/podcasts/mondays-are-a-mother/ Youtube: www.youtube.com/@MondaysAreAMother Instagram:@mondays_are_a_mother Facebook: Mondays Are A Mother Want to guest star on the show? Oh Brothers, Where Art Thou? w/Kaila Wink

This week on Mondays Are a Mother… After recapping last week’s conversation with Taryn, we’re shifting gears and sitting down with Kaila Wink, former podcaster and host of Girlie Talk Podcast. Kaila gets real about the impact recovery can have on siblings when everyone is on a different journey. We talk about her relationship with her older brothers, how those relationships have evolved, and the moments that ultimately created a rift between them. Because sometimes loving your family doesn’t mean you’re always on the same page—and sometimes the hardest part is understanding that everyone’s path to healing looks different. What really happened between Kaila and her brothers? What caused the distance? And can relationships survive when everyone is fighting their own battles? You’ll have to listen to find out. 🎙️ New episode of Mondays Are a Mother — where the conversations are honest, messy, and never quite what you expect. Siri, Update My Brain?

After the reset comes the real work. This week, I’m sharing what it’s been like to update my life instead of trying to reinvent it. From stepping outside my comfort zone and saying yes to new opportunities, to staying committed to the routines and schedule I’ve worked so hard to build, this season is all about growth with intention. I’m talking about the fear that comes with change, the challenge of maintaining balance when everything feels unfamiliar, and learning that progress doesn’t require perfection. Sometimes the biggest win is simply staying on course while your confidence catches up. If you’ve ever felt torn between playing it safe and chasing what’s next, this episode is your reminder that you can honor your growth without abandoning yourself. Tip of the Week: Growth isn’t measured by how comfortable you feel—it’s measured by your willingness to keep showing up even when it feels unfamiliar. Monday Mama Mantra: I can embrace new opportunities without losing myself. Balance isn’t about standing still; it’s about moving forward with intention.Listen here: https://rss.com/podcasts/mondays-are-a-mother/ Youtube: www.youtube.com/@MondaysAreAMother Instagram:@mondays_are_a_mother Facebook: Mondays Are A Mother Want to guest star on the show? Big Girls Be Cryin'

After the accountability tour came the mental reset. This week, I’m talking about what happens after you’ve owned your mistakes, sat with the consequences, and realized life isn’t going to pause while you figure it all out. Sometimes healing doesn’t look like a breakthrough—it looks like making do with what you have while building something new. There were tears, uncomfortable truths, and a lot of letting go of the version of life I thought I’d have. But there was also peace in choosing to stop fighting reality and start creating a new path forward. If you’ve ever felt like you’ve had to rebuild while your heart was still catching up, this episode is for you. Because, let’s be honest… be girls be crying—but we also keep going. 💡 Tip of the Week Protect your peace without apologizing for it. Not every text needs an immediate reply. Not every invitation deserves a yes. Not every opinion requires your attention. The more you protect your time and energy, the more you have to give to the people and goals that truly matter. 🌻 Monday Mama Mantra "I release the pressure to be everything for everyone. I choose peace over proving, progress over perfection, and purpose over people-pleasing." A little reminder: You don't have to earn your rest, explain your boundaries, or shrink yourself to make others comfortable. This week, choose yourself without guilt. Head to Toe

Some weeks test everything you thought you had under control. This week, I’m sharing what felt like living through my own version of Dante’s Inferno—breaking promises I made to myself, from celibacy to sobriety, while somehow still showing up on the evening news advocating for children. On the outside, it looked like I had it together. Behind closed doors, I was unraveling. This episode isn’t about excuses—it’s about ownership. I’m talking openly about making mistakes, facing the consequences, and choosing accountability over shame. Healing isn’t always a straight line, and sometimes the hardest part is admitting when you’ve lost your footing. If you’ve ever felt like your private struggles didn’t match the face you showed the world, this conversation is for you. Because taking ownership isn’t the end of the story—it’s where the rebuilding begins. 💡 Tip of the Week Don’t wait until you “feel ready.” Most growth happens while you’re figuring it out. Send the email, apply for the opportunity, make the phone call, or take the first step. Confidence is usually the result of action—not the requirement for it. ✨ Monday Mantra “I don’t have to have all the answers today. I only have to take the next right step. Every small action I take is building the life I’m working toward.” Listen here: https://rss.com/podcasts/mondays-are-a-mother/ Youtube: www.youtube.com/@MondaysAreAMother Instagram:@mondays_are_a_mother Facebook: Mondays Are A Mother
