    How to Rewrite Your Story

    In this episode, Cindy talks about what it really means to rewrite your story. The phrase can sound big and overwhelming, like it requires reinventing your whole life. But rewriting your story is much simpler and more practical than that. It is not about erasing the past. It is about slowing down enough to see the story you are already living from, and choosing new meaning for your life going forward. For years, Cindy stayed busy, responsible, and productive. She rushed from one responsibility to the next, telling herself she would slow down later. She didn’t spend much time paying attention to her thoughts and emotions. When something uncomfortable came up, she told herself she would deal with it tomorrow. Tomorrow never came. Doodling changed that pattern because it created space. It helped her slow down enough to see herself clearly. And once she could see what she was thinking and feeling, she could choose differently. That is what rewriting your story actually looks like.
