    As Jesus approaches the cross, He admits that His soul is troubled. Yet, in the face of unimaginable suffering, His ultimate desire remains unchanged: to glorify the Father's name. In week 33 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood examines this pivotal moment in Christ's ministry. The long-awaited "hour" has finally come, and Jesus reveals how His impending death is not a tragic defeat, but the ultimate victory that will put the majesty of God on full display. This week, we unpack the weight of Christ's approaching sacrifice by defining these core concepts and exploring four specific ways God glorifies Himself through the victory of Jesus: What is the hour?: Understanding the defining moment in human history that Jesus has been steadily moving toward since the very beginning of His ministry. What is glory?: Defining what it truly means for God to put His weight, perfection, and magnificent character on display for the world to see. Through judgment (v.31): The cross serves as the ultimate standard of justice, bringing the judgment of a broken world into the light. Through Satan's defeat (v.31): How the crucifixion paradoxically casts out the ruler of this world, securing the enemy's final and complete defeat. Through the drawing of His people (v.32): Jesus' beautiful promise that when He is lifted up on the cross, He will draw all people to Himself. Through the light of His people (v.36): A call for believers to trust in the Light while they have it, becoming children of light to a watching world.     September 6, 2026 - John 12:12-26 - "Jesus Models and Expects Humble Compliance"

    What does it really mean to follow a King whose throne is a cross? In week 32 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood takes us into the streets of Jerusalem for the Triumphal Entry. While the crowds wave palm branches and look for a conquering political hero, Jesus arrives as a humble, sacrificial servant. As He approaches the cross, Jesus clearly lays out the cost of discipleship, showing us that true victory only comes through surrender. This week, we look at the path of true discipleship and the cost of following Christ through four key points: Jesus models obedience to the Father's Plan (v.12-19): By riding into Jerusalem on a donkey, Jesus fulfills prophecy and demonstrates perfect, humble submission to the Father's will, even as the crowds completely misunderstand His true mission. Jesus redefines what following the King looks like (v.20-24): Using the powerful illustration of a grain of wheat falling into the earth to die, Jesus explains that true fruitfulness and eternal impact only come through sacrifice.     True worship reveals what we actually believe about the worth of Jesus. But how do we respond when someone else's devotion looks different, or even more costly, than our own? In week 31 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood takes us to a dinner in Bethany just days before the crucifixion. Here, the atmosphere is completely changed by an extravagant act of love, giving us a front-row seat to two drastically different reactions to Jesus.     When confronted with the undeniable power of Jesus, a choice must be made. Following the miraculous resurrection of Lazarus, the religious leaders gather in panic and ask, "What are we to do?"—ultimately choosing to plot His death. But how should we respond to the overwhelming evidence of who Jesus is? In week 30 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood pauses to look back at the seven miraculous signs Jesus has performed so far. Instead of responding with hardened hearts like the Pharisees, we are challenged to look at Christ's perfect track record and answer that same question for ourselves: What are we to do?     When God delays His response to our desperate prayers, we often assume He is absent or indifferent. But what if His delay is actually setting the stage for an even greater display of His glory? In week 29 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood unpacks one of the most emotional and climactic moments in Jesus' ministry: the resurrection of Lazarus. This profound passage reveals a Savior who is fully sovereign over life and death, yet deeply moved by our pain and sorrow.     How often do we demand more proof from God when He has already given us everything we need to believe? In week 28 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood takes us to the Feast of Dedication. The religious leaders corner Jesus and demand that He tell them plainly if He is the Christ. What follows is Jesus' final, definitive public defense of His identity before He withdraws from His public ministry. This week, we look at the undeniable proof of who Jesus is and the absolute security of His followers through five key points: Jesus exposes the unbelief of the Jews (v.24-26): Showing that their refusal to believe wasn't due to a lack of evidence, but because they simply were not part of His flock. Jesus shares the benefits of being a sheep (v.27-29): The incredible, comforting promise of eternal security—the guarantee that once you are in the Father's hand, nothing can ever snatch you away.     In a noisy world full of competing voices and false leaders, how do you know who to follow? In week 27 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood unpacks one of the most beautiful and intimate metaphors in all of Scripture. Jesus contrasts Himself with the self-serving religious elite, declaring Himself to be the Good Shepherd who deeply knows, fiercely protects, and ultimately dies for His flock. This week, we explore the incredible security we have in Christ's care through four key points: His voice is knowable and trustable (v.1-6): The intimate relationship between the Shepherd and the sheep, and the safety found in learning to recognize and follow His voice above all others. He is the only door of hope (v.7-10): Jesus is the exclusive gateway to salvation, offering us a rich and abundant life in stark contrast to the thieves who come only to steal, kill, and destroy.     July 26, 2026 - John 9:1-41 - "Jesus And The Man Born Blind"

    When we encounter suffering, our first instinct is often to look for someone to blame. But what if God wants to use that exact brokenness to put His glory on display? In week 26 of our series through the Gospel of John, Lead Pastor Dr. Scott Hood walks us through an incredible encounter between Jesus and a man who had been blind since birth. While the disciples look for a theological explanation for the man's suffering, Jesus simply steps in and heals him. However, this miraculous display of grace immediately sparks a heated interrogation from the religious elite. This week, we explore the stark contrast between physical sight and spiritual blindness through three key points: The Miracle (v.1-12): Jesus confounds the disciples' assumptions about suffering and graciously gives sight to a man who had lived his entire life in the dark. The Controversy (v.13-34): The religious leaders put the healed man and his parents on trial, proving they are more blinded by their rigid traditions and pride than the man ever was by his physical condition.
